I can see what you're sayin about the pay off, but as far as the album version goes it sort of lulls into the next track, and I feel like the payoff is if you wait all the way to get to the track Olympians where it really flies into the sky
a; music really....the first time i heard them they were playing in a near empty club were my work staff party was on... didnt know what to make of them.... it was beautiful!
Nice review man. It's amazing! I love that album, thanks for saying "in my opinion" Unlike the majority of other youtube people who seem to think their opinion is Gospel
Hah! Well, even when I forget to say that, these reviews are still opinion. I'd like to think I'm just giving a different perspective on things, that's all.
I saw these guys at Fun Fun Fun Fest last weekend. They opened with this track and I have to say, it was pretty phenomenal. I noticed that in a concert setting, surrounded by many people as well as the music, the repetitive elements weren't that much of a bother.
I really liked how in Street Horrsing they would start out real quiet and ambient and then would just scream their lungs out near the end of the song. I thought their new album was alright/pretty good and I understand they band should probably not do the same thing twice or else it would have just getten tiresome and expected.
i adore fuck buttons... street horrsing was my album of the year last year.... they have the possibility of becoming my first ever consecutive albums of the year. this one is a great progression from the debut and paves the way for fuck buttons to become the new orbital in a sense of festival big techno and the new jean michel jarre in the sense of textures..amazing epic and beautiful album... love em! everyone get it, its not rave, its not dance, its fuck buttons..olympians is an amazing song
yknow im listening to a lot of old jarre stuff since this album came out... oxygene was the first album i heard that convinced me there was music outside the radio and my folks record collection..i was about 10 id say...still love it. he is as if not more important than kraftwerk in the greater scheme of things, he is just frowned upon by the indie masses because of his star quality..i mean the guy doesnt play in stadiums, he plays in cities!
When I listen to this song or one or two others off this LP by themselves I enjoy them, but as soon as I listen to the album as a whole I get bored. It just doesn't hold my attention from start to finish. But like I said the songs by themselves are pretty good.
This definitely one of those bands that my computer speakers just can't do justice. I've been putting off getting into Fuck Buttons and I'm still not 100% sure I should. Sounds a little bit too much like house/trance for my taste. If I close my eyes and listen to this track, I can picture myself going to some rave in the sky and I hate raves. But hanging out in the sky is kind of cool. I've been in records stores, held this in my hand and just stared at it debating. I prefer my sky without raves.

I feel like the songs on this LP still grow like Horrrsing, but maybe Tarot Sport is less of a shock to the system?
