Protestants left the Catholic Church because they were practicing things like buying forgiveness of sins(selling of indulgences) which is not scriptural. I've studied his work extensively and I have found MANY contradictions between his teachings and Jesus' teachings. They taught completely different things there's no denying it and more than half of the eschathalogy is based off of Paul's teachings NOT Jesus? Why is that? Jesus said to follow him, why do "Christians" need Paul?
Many people claim there are contradictions in the bible, I can point out quite a few that have been directed my way; but, when studied these are not contradictions after all. I do agree that there are and were quite a few false prophets. Take for example, joseph smith for the mormons is one of them.
People often want to believe the bible contradicts itself, and/or paul being a false prophet when they aren't sure what to believe because they've heard too many explanations and...
have been led down so many different paths, that its just easier to toss it aside than accept it. The bible does say his teachings are hard, and easy to misunderstand. He doesn't contradict Christ, but remember, Christ said he had many things left to say but the disciples couldn't bear them yet.

Here's one instance regarding the "God of the dead"
Even the old testament contradictions that people claim exist, don't exist, just a misunderstanding on their part. Luke 28:38 and Romans 14:9 are a prime example...let's post the two verses...
Luk 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
without any surrounding context, it would appear they contradict, right? I agree, taken like this, they seemingly contradict. Now, let's put Luke 20:38 in context:
Luk 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
Luk 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
Even though Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had already died, they are known as children of the resurrection, and God is still called their God for they are still alive, though having already died. Remember God said he that believeth in me shall never die.
NLT version translates luke 20:38 this way, which explains it a little easier:
"So he is the God of the living, not the dead. They are all alive to him."
When you accept Jesus, even though you die here, you are still alive unto him. This is one of the reasons why Paul himself said that even though we're dead, or we're alive, he is our God because he knows us. It only appears as a contradiction, but it isn't.
If you want I can go over the others as well, but just wanted to leave it at these two verses for now just to lay the foundation that even though something appears to be a contradiction, when put in its true light, it isn't. Don't be too quick to toss Paul out yet;)

Take Moses for example. When he first went up the mountain, was anyone with him? Did anyone else see that burning bush and hear the voice of God speak through it? Did anyone else hear God tell Moses to free his people?

I've studied his work extensively and I have found MANY contradictions between his teachings and Jesus' teachings. They taught completely different things there's no denying it and more than half of the eschathalogy is based off of Paul's teachings NOT Jesus? Why is that? Jesus said to follow him, why do "Christians" need Paul?

Many people claim there are contradictions in the bible, I can point out quite a few that have been directed my way; but, when studied these are not contradictions after all. I do agree that there are and were quite a few false prophets. Take for example, joseph smith for the mormons is one of them.
People often want to believe the bible contradicts itself, and/or paul being a false prophet when they aren't sure what to believe because they've heard too many explanations and...

have been led down so many different paths, that its just easier to toss it aside than accept it. The bible does say his teachings are hard, and easy to misunderstand. He doesn't contradict Christ, but remember, Christ said he had many things left to say but the disciples couldn't bear them yet.

@Myhopeisinhim Yeah I do agree that there have been many alleged contradictions but then again you have to disregard the Old Testament "contradictions" since it contains the Law and the Prophets, both of which Jesus said are scripture.
Here's one instance regarding the "God of the dead"
Compare Luke 20:38 and Romans 14:9
And one regarding mercy:
Compare Matthew 5:7 and Romans 9:15-18
There are also differing views on the coming of Jesus, the forgiveness of sins, truth, etc.

Even though Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had already died, they are known as children of the resurrection, and God is still called their God for they are still alive, though having already died. Remember God said he that believeth in me shall never die.

NLT version translates luke 20:38 this way, which explains it a little easier:
"So he is the God of the living, not the dead. They are all alive to him."
When you accept Jesus, even though you die here, you are still alive unto him. This is one of the reasons why Paul himself said that even though we're dead, or we're alive, he is our God because he knows us. It only appears as a contradiction, but it isn't.

Take Moses for example. When he first went up the mountain, was anyone with him? Did anyone else see that burning bush and hear the voice of God speak through it? Did anyone else hear God tell Moses to free his people?
What about Jonah? Did God send anyone with Jonah when he went to warn the people of the disaster that would befall the city of Nineveh should the not repent? One needs to put that two or three witnesses in proper perspective.

When Moses went to the children of Israel, they wanted to know who sent him, and when they found that their troubles increased, they no longer wanted to listen to Moses. Moses had no one to vouch for him, except Aaron; but, not even Aaron heard and saw what Moses saw.
Who are we then to say whether or not Moses is who he says he is? No one else saw it. Just as no one else exactly saw what Paul saw on the road, when Jesus appeared to him.

@Myhopeisinhim Pat, the question was: Can you prove Paul's authenticity NOT cite examples from Old Testament prophets who supposedly didn't have any witnesses. God CLEARLY stated in Deut. 13:1-5 that a prophet whose words come to pass, is a legitimate prophet. Moses, Jonah, etc are all examples of this and JESUS is a witness of those things which they prophesied.

what they saw..Jesus even said that those who believe in me will do greater things than these. Paul was vouched for by the council in Acts, and by Luke. His message does not contradict the message of Jesus. Please do some more research on Paul.
There are many things put together that show Paul was authentic and a follower of Jesus Christ.
