  • Awesome, awesome playing. Thanks for the review. Some clean tones would have been great, though... Did you come across the Korean Standard SPECIAL version, that comes loaded with the USA DMTs Baker Act & Nostalgia, and apparetly no coil tap? I'm very curious about how those sound, can't find a review.

  • Damn, that Axetrak sounds great...they are about 600€ over here, how much are they there...reallt great tones...I must get one, any negatives about it...thanks

  • @stevoe1000 I got mine for $399 AUD at a big sale, marked down from $999 AUD.

  • @stevoe1000 Which Axetrack is it..the small on or the 12 inch

  • nice work, are those the Dean custom wound dimarzios in that one? btw-coulda sworn I heard a little marty friedman in the japanese scale there!

  • Hi, do you have anny opinion about Dean Soltero DOA 2009 ? Korean made, Leslie west + Nostalgia pickups in total made 24pcs. I'm about to get one, in my opinion inlays on standart they're much nicer, but in general to you think it's worth to get one for playing B.B.King style blues ?

  • Hi Peter, I'm a friend of your cousin Jessi's- you're a fucking killer guitarist!!

  • Great vid! You think it would sound good through a Marshall MG102fx and Boss ME-70? Thanks :)

  • okay, how much the guitar?

  • I need to know if this guitar brings a case buying new???? Tnx for the answer

  • @000021864 yes and its a really nice case

  • Will the hardshell guitar case for the Evo. Can a Soltero fit in that?

  • Do you use coil tapping in the vid?

  • Do you keep the port removed on the axetrak? I do... Love it that way. The speaker took awhile to break in. Cool Vid man!

  • This guitar or an Epiphone Les paul?

  • THIS off course :p Epiphone is not that good...

  • epiphones can be nice but they often have tuning and intonation issues. if u get a nice epiphone, take it, but otherwise i'd go with the dean

  • getting a white one in a few months as my first acoustic. can't wait, despite my noobiness i've already been invited by a mate to try out an act with him-but need the damn electric!!! :D

  • wow man, you got a great sound. what pedals/amp you using?

  • Hey thanks! I'm using a Marshall DSL50 head and an AxeTrak isolated speaker cabinet (it has a little 10 inch speaker sealed inside a soundproof box with a microphone inside). Not using any pedals - just straight into the Marshall's Lead channel. The delay and reverb are from Amplitube 2, applied to the video's audio mix. I didn't use the amp sim section of Amplitube, just the ambient effects.

  • Hi, Just to clarify, the AxeTrak isolated speaker cabinet has a 6.5" speaker inside of its sealed enclosure with a custom cardiod microphone cartridge inside. They don't make any units with 10" speakers inside.

  • Thanks for the clarification. :)

  • wow! great sounding guitar! i knew it was good, but never that good! but u just had 2 killl it with queensryche

  • Haha, thanks but it was only Queesryche-'like', not a real Queensryche riff, so I win back some points for that, right? :P

  • dude ur great...be my mentor

  • Haha, thanks! I'm thinking of putting together some kind of book of the guitar lesson columns I write for Mixdown magazine, so I can be EVERYONE'S mentor.

  • thanks for this "review" ;)

  • Hehe, cheers. There will be an actual, 1,000 word review on my blog later this week.
