This isn't going to work for all media. It would be mostly for 3D animated things. Imagine what a hassle it must be to shoot a traditional movie from every possible angle to get the footage you need. No matter how good your staff is, that's going to be insanely difficult.
But, with 3D graphic rapidly improving, and this technology still being in development, it's going to be fine once the time comes.
I'm really looking forward to the first fully 3D projector with touchable collision. :D
Anyone out there remember CircleOrama, from the 1960's 360 degree screen, but not 3D even so it was mind blowing especially the Ship in a gale bit. You stood in a big room ,everyone fell over in the gale bit ,was fun !!
At one time IBM said that the total world demand for computers was about three. We don't even know what we can really be used for. Just because some people are short-sighted doesn't reflect what they are looking at but how they look at it. It's all about perspective, and getting an asian girl in a cylinder.
the relevance of this video is not in the product itself though, the usefulness and practiality of this machine is zero, next to pointless. but what it stands for in terms of innovative ideas and advancing technology is huge.
hoho all that money for a spinning zoetrope which was invented in china 180 bc hehe it will never work as a decent 3d display because it relies on mechanical motion which cannot be regulated in a constant enough fashion to be viable.Nice try though this is one for the museums we dont want this mother dicing our kids lol
ok listen retard. ALL electronic gadgets started out as "low tech mechanical nonsense." ever heard of the first calculator. just dont be a bitch. this i is just the first step.
thats true but the hard disk doesnt have to spin at a constant speed to function correctly. Imagine a drum the size of a house spinning constantly at a high speed in your local cinema..... impractical Somehow they need to project/supply the formed image so its size is not limited by its mechanical parts
Ideas and choice are always good. There are many ideas of how to represent 3 dimensional images and I think it would be nice to see all them available for consumers to judge how good each one is.
do you say servos are not regulated in a constant enough fashion? then how the accuracy and repeatability of modern servos are now down to a couple nanometers.
fucking matrix!!!!!!ahhhhhhhhh!!!

this isnt completly useless, think advertising... projecting a picture that can be seen from every angle is very usefull to advertising.
c4viper1 4 years ago
or in a war or for airplane controle ( sorry i dont know that word ) and of course gaming

Do you use a hard disk in your computer? You might not know this but it spins.
