thanks for posting this song..Barry is a fave of mine..and this song is one of his songs that i love..brings me back to Highschool days..lol!..just like THX1205 ...
This clip and the song make me a little sad. At the time the movie was popular, I was employed in a position that required me to travel quite a lot. I was forced to see so many movies without my wife and children. Nothing is worse than seeing a choice movie--such as Foul Play--then returning to an empty hotel room. Calling home just made my loneliness worse. Those days are over, and my wife and I can enjoy or time together now, along with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
I loved this movie. I laughed till I cried when she beat the crap out of the dwarf. I don't know why I thought it was funny. But this is one of my all time fav Barry songs, made all the more beautiful with the pacific coastline. I enjoyed it. tx
I totally love this movie."Beware of the dwarf"' " I know, the albino is working for the dwarf"' "I killed him with a needle.Narcotics?No.Knitting" LOL.Love those lines
I was 11 years old when I first saw this movie in a theater that I walked to by myself. When the albino's face popped out in the library I almost crapped my pants. It was after 11pm when the movie let out and I was so scared walking home over 2 miles. This movie always brings back memories, strange ones though...
Just finished watching it on TV (the dvd is back home, sad, I know) (also, my roommate was very confused and looking at me strange when she came back from class). And I couldn't get this song out of my head, so glad I found it! Thanks for posting <3
As a youngster and in love with "Foul Play," I set out to buy the LP. On it was "Foul Play Disco." It wasn't in the movie but it was on the LP. Can someone please upload it so we can all dance to this wonderful movie.
Love this song!!! Barry Manilow is the ultimate performer, wish he were doing his greatest hits tour again. Would so be there. Also, great movie. Got this last year for Christmas and made my kids watch it, they really liked it:)
This is Conzelman Rd (at least it's supposed to be). From Sausalito take Bunker road through the tunnel under the mountain over to the Pacific side, and then drive south. It ends at the north end of the Golden Gate bridge, and takes probably about 15 minutes. I do this drive regularly, and it's exactly what it looks like. It's a very pretty and relaxing way to get from Sausalito to San Francisco.
At first she's driving in Tiburon, in Marin County, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco-- right near where I live. Then, the coast drive is between Stinson Beach and Muir Beach, also in Marin County -- the two locations aren't really that close to each other, but areboth in the same county.
Is that the PCH? I am sure it is. I am moving my parents into my home. My my mom has a ton of Manilow Vinyl. Grew up listening to them. It's all good. They are young (71 and 70). Just fixing their house up for them. They will be back there in 6 months. My mom was humming this song today.....
Love watching the credits and the spectacular views along Hwy1. This movie holds up well after so many years. Dudley Moore, Goldie Hawn, Chevy Chase---they are all great in this movie. Thanks for putting this on youtube.
Great Movie ! This scene was shot early in the am (sunrise) and obviously the road was closed off , its a breathtaking drive (California Hwy 1 ) but very dangerous ,as you can see from the aerial shots just how close to the outside edge the VW is traveling ( stuntman was driving-exterior shots) .
A bit of trivia - Gloria's part was originally written for Farrah Fawcett (RIP) but she went on to something else , Goldie was superb -both her and Chevy ,and the
I saw this movie as a kid and have loved it ever since. Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn have great chemistry and Goldie is hilarious. It's the perfect mix of suspense, mystery, action, and comedy. Love it!
I remember seeing this movie for the first time after my family got HBO back in the early 80's. It was so funny that I couldn't stop laughing and I enjoyed is so much I watched every time it was on. I love this movie it is one of my all time favorites.
I have seen this movie in the carlton cinema on o'connel street, dublin, when i was thirteen, with six of my friends, still love it to this day..............
@eliana339 WOW ! I was 19 years when I saw this movie for the first time (1978).
This autumn I turn 52!! What happened with the years in-between (33 years !!)? Well, I got a wonderful wife and a wonderful daughter. When I found this clip I almost started to cry! My wife came into the room and asked if I had been drinking to much wine! No, I said but watch video-clip. And then she almost started to cry !! Well eliana339 l would like to thank You so much for posting this video-clip!! Beatiful !!
@ESSAL012 I was 23 years when I saw this movie in 1978 and loved it and the music. I fell in love with Gerta Caswell aka Delia Darrow LOL !!! What ever happened to my beloved Delia Darrow??? LOL!!!
Where does the time go? it seems just like I went to the theater to see it. That was almost 32 years ago. I love Goldie and Chevy, they were great in this move. I miss the 70s....
not many people know about this movie, one of the best ever........have to agree that it is the the best movie beginning ever.....nothing else comes to mind
@hisvorpalswords Oh yes, indeed! I saw this movie for the first time when I was 12, now I am 38 years old. Till today, I remember the beginning.
Due to this movie, I learned a little bit of english and also singing Ready to take a chance again(I am from Brazil). Barry Manilow is a great singer and composer.
Give it up for darylhsu. Thank you for posting this video.
That's Bruce Solomon as Bob Scott, a character in the movie (Foul Play) whose actions bring Goldie Hawn's character (Gloria Mundy) into an assassination plot.
Bellisima cancion solo Barry Manilow podria hacer una cancion asi, fue otra epoca : la pelicula que es una comedia comiensa con una cancion triste, bella, excelente
In my opinion Tom Hanks is too old for this role. Take a look for Chavy Chase, he was so young and beautiful in this movie. Hawn and Chase created fantastic duo in 'Foul Play'.
I watched this movie way back in the day with my sister who is alot older than me..now everytime I watch it I feel all warm and fuzzy as t makes me think of good times with her.
I watched this movie first time when I was like 5 or something, it was really scary backthen, nowadays I don't think it is that scary, but I still love it and it is one of my favorite movies...
There's at least 5 minutes of movie before this sequence with the credits. Included is a touching scene when their eyes first meet.
One of my all-time favourite movies. Romance, Comedy, Murder, Suspense, Car Chase, Opera, The Church, Albinos, Kung Fu, and more, all with a great soundtrack. CLASSIC!
You poor bastard! My ex doing the same now,she just moved out 5 weeks ago. It pisses her off that I'm doing quite fine without her. I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet, like Dufresne from Shawshank. i'd rather live in a cave than deal with her tonight.
Wow . I saw this movie when it came to the screen. 31 years !! Where did You go ? This was (is) one of my favorite movies. I maybe nostalic but nevertheless...
I did too, this is one of my favorite as well.I am so nostalic, maybe too much. I miss those times in my life. Youtube is wonderful. Thanks for posting this!!!!!!!
I hope you keep trying. It's very possible she feels the same way. Life is simply to difficult to go through alone, even though I'm having to. (Not MY first choice, he said sardonically.)
I wish you good fortune and hope she listens -- I hope you both do.
I always forget that this song comes from this movie -- it's BRILLIANT! Whenever anyone starts to rag on Mr. Manilow, I always remember this song, "Ships" and "Bandstand Boogie" as three reasons why I like his work. But it's not universal -- I'm neutral on "Copacabana" and I absolutely can't stand "Mandy". Go figure.
I love this movie and the song is great. Goldie Hawn is so beautiful and funny in it. The script is hysterical - my fave comedy - and I love the VW Beetle. I want one!!!
my first glimpse of USA.. fell in love with USA and said i wanna be there...God granted my wish ,,and now making plans to drive on that same scenic drive with my wife soon... God is good and this movie and song really good...seems like they don't make em like this anymore
thanks for posting this song..Barry is a fave of mine..and this song is one of his songs that i love..brings me back to Highschool days..lol!..just like THX1205 ...

You poor bastard! My ex doing the same now,she just moved out 5 weeks ago. It pisses her off that I'm doing quite fine without her. I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet, like Dufresne from Shawshank. i'd rather live in a cave than deal with her tonight.

Go figure.

This film had intelligent humor instead of just sex jokes and ghetto humor that is most of the comedy genre these days.
Duddley Moore in the bedroom scene with the Bee Gees playing was a riot.

I love this movie and the song is great. Goldie Hawn is so beautiful and funny in it. The script is hysterical - my fave comedy - and I love the VW Beetle. I want one!!!
