watching a video of how its done is so helpful. I've tried to learn decrease stitch with books and it just never made any damn sense and it kept me from doing projects other than scarves. This simplified everything. Thanks!
You go too fast in this. I had to watch four times to know what I was doing. Slowed down would have been much appreciated. All in all, helpful though.
All I seem to end up doing is moving them back to the left hand needle. I'm obviously not pulling the wool through, but i don't know why! Any ideas???
I never quite understood the concept of SSK, but seeing ou do it, I feel more confident to try. ^^ (But they're right, you are knitting a stitch when you first say slip.)
just a suggestion. When saying "slip, slip", actually slip instead of knitting. At 0:50 you said "slip one" when you in fact knitted one, the same thing again happened at 1:04 when you actually knitted instead of slipping. I know you slipped your stitches after that knit, but it's rather confusing to be watching for a slip, when you're saying slip, but you're actually knitting.
No, k2tog, you knit into two stitches that are on the left needle (you don't slip them onto the other needle first like SSK). With SSK, you slip them onto the right needle as shown here and then knit into them.
Nan2281 - SSK is not actually the same thing as a K2tog, though they both will decrease your stitches. The only difference is that an SSK will lean to the left, where as K2tog will lean towards the right. Hope that makes sense :)
with K2tog you knit the two stitches together off of the left needle. with SSK you're knitting them off of the right needle. One slants left, the other slants right.
Yes, and no. On the right side, a K2tog results in a right leaning decrease and an SSK results in a left leaning decrease. An SSK is more like a P2togbl, but much easier.
Thanks for this video! Slip, slip, knitt???? In spanish don't exist! :S So, thank you... i'm happy!!!
