  • Susan Dey was my first crush...........maybe if my mom didn't pass on, i wouldn't be so screwed up and have a normal relationship. who am i kidding.....there are no normal relationships, it is just a fantasy in my mind.....cheers.

  • I Meet You Halfway é boa na voz , The Partridge Family , mas é melhor ainda no album Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast, com a voz de Wayne Newton. Sucesso de 1972. Entre outros como: Believe in Music; Supertar...etc. E certamente o próprio Echo Valley.

  • I Love This Song!!!

  • The first record I was given, was David Cassidy's Greatest Hits on my tenth birthday, in 1975. I still have that record. Wish I had a player worth using now, to hear it again.

I was only very young, but I can remember being swept up in the whole David Cassidy thing for many years. I so miss those days.

  • @DottyG29 Try Amazon, This might be available on CD or download

  • A lot of songs have been produced which are meant to invoke feelings, but none combine both a such a beautiful voice with such insightful lyrics.

  • OK, I'll say it fully secure in my heterosexuality. Susan Dey, Shirley Jones and David Cassidy were 3 really attractive people.

  • It is such a pleasure to listen to this music...almost everything written back then was gentle to listen to.

  • posted many times on this title. I juz miss this,family...

  • I HAVE a whole CD full of these songs!

  • @laineyspawtique What is the cd called? Where can I get it,please?

  • I was recording music off the radio- WNAP Indianapolis back in 1971- on my little Realistic reel-to-reel tape recorder- I used to have alligator clip leads hooked to the speaker leads- This song was playing- but the tape ran out shortly into the song- Transferred those tapes onto cassettes years later and played them for years

I always liked the song- and glad the whole song's here- that's better than half way!

  • This might be one of the most beautiful songs of hope, love and faith ever written....As relevant now as it was 35 years ago...Thank God for Youtube so that classics like this can live beyond the corporate greed of the industry...

  • @Fireworxs2012 AMEN!!

  • @Fireworxs2012 in a way fdave was miffed that he couldnt have control over some songs...

  • If you like the Partridge Family, or David Cassidy or, heck, even the Brady Bunch, you'll probably like listening to my bubblegum music radio show "Echo Valley". It's online, free and just for fun. I play The Partridges and David Cassidy almost every show! Google " echo valley bubblegum " and you'll find it! :)

  • this video is Dusty for sure...

  • this sounds likt the record version, i always prefer the tv versins when they are broadcasts in remastred in stereo

  • This song was the musical apex of "the Partridge Family." Really good song and lyrics. By the way, who wrote their material???

  • @Reactiv12 I know Wes Farrell was one of the composers and producers on The Partridge Family. I grew up loving David...had his "Cherish" album. Lovely well crafted Pop Tunes!!!!

  • @musikgal17 ... sorry to reiterate; didn't see your reply...

  • @Reactiv12 ... Wes Farrell wrote a good bit of it. Lots of writers contributed, though.

  • A beautiful song. And so true. It's about hope about a guy wanting a girl and hoping they can get together.

  • This is better than any song song of 2011!

  • @trevor40 Amen to that! 40 years old, & "I'll Meet You Halfway" still sounds as fresh as it did back in 1971! I miss those days! Today's music is nothing but mindless garbage, & will be forgotten about even ten years from now, while long after we've passed on, The Partridge Family will still be remembered!

    Bravo, David Cassidy & Co.!

  • @trevor40 ...... I'm sure you're correct saying this is better than any song of 2011 because I haven't listened to modern music trash for about 20 years now .. why? 'cause it all SUX and you can thank that trashy whore MADONNA for ruining music and all it's become since the mid-80s!

  • Great lyrics and great music from an era of gentle music...a far cry from today's "music" . Where have all the good songs and talented artists gone???

  • sumerkiss tks for this number, posted ne juz 5 mins ago but can't really let this song go.i will be 46 in july...i really miss them and makes me sad that my parents r no longer with me. reminds of the times when we watch this together wk after wk...sigh sigh...

  • yo man i agree with u. living to watch this familly wk after wk. i grew up with them together with the donny and marie show but the patridge got the edge coz of the susan dey factor tho marie osmond juz as gud...my fav patridge family song! how i miss those golden 70s...really miss the childhood days. kids these days dunno wat it was like... so simple, peaceful, joys, unconditional love, etc WAT MORE CAN U ASK FOR?

  • Hard to believe over 40 years ago this show came on the air. We lived for friday nights on ABC to see them.I miss those days! They really had some great songs.David Cassidy has such a Great voice.Glad I grew up back then.

  • reminds me of me and my best guy friend (ex). were tryin to find a way to see each other.. butufuel song.. its just... perfect

  • 10th grade~

I played this 45 over and over and over and....

  • Is there a version without visuals? This song describes the torment between our son and his father - father passed a week ago - they were estranged for 20 yrs. Unfortunately, there was no contact, now son is meeting him more than halfway. Son is cleaning up the remains of his life with ultra pain involved.

  • @AMASSEY1000 if you want to send me your email address.

  • as usual the golden 70s' bringing memories of my childhood...really miss those days with my nieghbours playing hide-and-seek, catching spiders, playing police and thief, monopoly, soccer in the garden, badminton at the car porch, etc with our dads and mums watching us! really miss them...

  • What a beautiful soft sexy voice, then and now. Kudos to his current wife for getting him!

  • I love this song its catchy and just pure Its yet another one of my favorites.

  • Sumerkis38, I love all your Partridge Family song/videos that you upload!! Such good memories of watching this show every week! I'm glad Antenna TV cable network has an hour of the show everyday, 7 days a week (but I have all 4 seasons on DVD too)!

  • yea

  • This song is so good it doesn't even need a music video

  • david together with blood bro, shaun equally gudlookin... but hv eyes only for susan dey juz like i have eys eyes for abba's golden girl, agnetha!!! great 70s...much better than now anytime!!!

  • David Cassidy is so fine

  • Does family did dead?

  • I miss the songs of back then. The crap they have now is nasty.

  • i wish i could back

  • Reminds me of such a simpler time. Still see Danny in the media a lot. I have a lot of respect for him. hes overcome a lot and now is very direct, honest, straightforward...

  • @w1aixdw8 EVERY time in a child's life is "simpler". Actually, the early 70s were rather turbulent - Kent State, the Vietnam War, streaking, forced desegregation, Watergate, dystopic films like "The Omega Man" and "Soylent Green" (though many of these things turned out good later on)... But I love this song.... It's still rather unusual...

  • This is such a beautiful song. I loved watching this show on Friday nights when I was a teenager. Those were the calmer times. I wish I had those times back. David was always so nice to look at and so easy on the eyes!

  • ill meet you half way

  • One of many lovely songs. If only we could go back in time.

  • Great song,beautiful lyrics!!

  • This was their best song. Very well written and good singing performance by Dave.

And they all look so good here. I forgot how adorable Susan Dey was. I was too young to appreciate it at the time. Thanks for posting this.

  • "We've been traveling in circles such a long long time trying to say hello, HO!"

Hello, ho..... you can't say that on a family album nowadays.. lol.

  • At one minute forty-one seconds, Susan says: "If that red headed little creep farts one more time while we are trying to wrap up this scene, I am going home. I just hate working with obnoxious children!

  • 4 people won't be meeting anyone anywhere

  • im a teen now, and i love the partridge family! <3

  • Oh my how I love this song....and this was my favorite show as a teen!

  • Watching this at age 10, I always wondered why the background singers didn't sound like little kids.... Back then.... I smelled a rat :)

Still..... great music. Susan Dey & David Cassidy....legit talents!

  • @FiberMania They pumped the kids full of steroids; deepened their voices for recording.

  • I love the partridge family and brady songs

  • too much David Cassidy....didn't he do some porn or something...anyway....now if there were some shots of that bus, now that would be great...I watched what reruns they had on TVLand...and was kinda disappointed...they bus was hardly shown....

  • So glad I found this site....like so many others posted....reminds me of my teens in the 70s....great songs!!

  • My favorite Partridge Family song! :-)

  • I have the sheet music of this song tattooed on my back. Definitely a huge Partridge fan here.

  • They were great days, to be sure. I was young, and I'll never forget hearing this song blaring from the loud speakers in thw Sunset drive-in in Vt while getting my girlfriend popcorn and soda. And Shirley Jones' beautiful voice comes over so clearly at the end of the song... Wonderful memories...

  • I was just thinking the same thing. Too bad we didn't know then how good we had it!

  • Reminds me of Jr High. Those days were so simple.

  • nice video shots.....thank you

  • don't we wish our family could do this?

  • nice video ,,,good old days ,too bad it wanst like this these days eveybody forgot about peace love and happiness

  • This is one of my favorite Partridge family songs. I would sit in my bedroom as a young teen and play this record over and over and dream of David.

  • I love this one.......It would be so hard to pick a favorite.......thank you so much!

  • what a great show that was. i must have played their greatest hits album a zillion times. David's vocals were excellent (didn't hurt that he was definitely easy on the eyes too). thanks so much for sharing!

  • Go to Google and look up Susan Dey.She was born Susan Smith Dec.10, 1952.The pix I am looking at is from 1990,she looked good in that pix. They Dey was her late mother's maiden name. She has been married twice, still is to the sec hubby and her daughter ( only child ) was born in 1978.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS SUMERKIS, IT BRINGS BACK MEMEORIES FROM MY TEEN, I WAS SO IN LOVE WITH DAVID.

  • I always thought Shirley and Ruben should be a couple when I was a child, but I just watched the whole series and I don't think that would have worked. Besides, they had to have an option to bring in other men for Shirley. The series is entertaining to watch every decade or so but the songs are really what made it special. Can any of you imagine the Partridge family without the songs?

  • @MsColoradodoc lots of memories for me here

  • i always thought that shirley and ruben should go out

  • this is cool I love making comments to how they were love the remixes these are memories I think maybe I am crazy been watching all these oldies from the past . cool

  • this song brings back memorys of the good years miss those times . keith was my teen heart throb , I thought he was dreamy then he much better as age goes , I agree with sikorskis55 , the drive in movies hearing it blare , we had a sunset drive in here in pocatello Id it has since burned down ,I guess drive ins are the thing of the past . this music is my feel good mood hansing music , thanks keith for keeping it alive .

  • I sat next to you and our legs touched I dreamed of this when i was young your arm around me me right handed u left I will always remember the day in kansas city!

  • I heard this over and over when I was young and I got to meet him more then one time I sat next to him at lunch and i was on his left i am right handed he is left I wish i had the pics his arm was around me and when i used my right had and he used his left to eat I even saw every flaw he has and theres none I prayed and prayed when i was young and his knee touched mine and his arm around me at lunch I will never forget it

  • Wtf was on top of their bus??

  • @catwymnn luggage rack

  • Even though I used to see it in spanis back in Honduras and later in th USA they still bring memories from back than. The show was family oriented not like the garbage they have today.

  • It's a shame they cancelled "Ruby & The Rockits", it was a good show. I wish they still followed the classic formula for television shows. Reality shows are so awful, and they need to stop.

  • @brooke9218 I agree completely, but there's only two ways to stop reality shows. 1. Stop watching them. 2. Find out who the sponsors are. Just write them and tell them that you regretfully are not going to buy their product anymore since they're supporting reality shows, and you plan to buy a no name product instead. Money still talks, but it takes more than you and I to make a difference. Millions would have to stop watching the reality shows and stop supporting the sponsors.

  • I remember being a kid and wishing i could wake up as the 6th partridge LOL tho i also remember wanting to be a brady...so go figure LOL...great memories..thank you so much for posting

  • Someone help! I heard David Cassidy is not very nice if you've met him in person? Don't know! Have you met him? Tell me about it!!

  • @girpo he's a really nice guy!

  • These songs were written by very talented musicians, but without David they would never had such an impact and never achieved such longevity.

Yeah David coming from a Hollywood Family had some musical training before this but it's his soul

  • @vidstar7 I knew someone who worked with Cassidy about 10 years or so ago and said he was the biggest arrogant jerk. He worked closely with him. I was heartbroken. To this day I hold out hope that this person was the jerk and not David. Who knows?

  • Here you go Tracy !!!

    David for you

  • Memories....standing inmy bedroom with hairbrush with a mirror and belting these songs out. I had very album. Loved the "Sound Magazine" record. Wow. I can't believe these are here. I've listened to them all and I know ALL of the words still! What a sad day for my Mom when these were put away and I joined the KISS ARMY!!!

  • Had all the albums, faithfully watched the show. This was great music back then, great harmonies and vocals.

  • My second favorite Partridge Family song. 'I woke up in love this morning' is the first favorite.

  • Aaah the Partridge family nothing but heavenly sunshine to the soul!

  • I was so totally in love with Shirley Jones. Come to think of it, I still am.

  • I love them...and still have my partridge family and david cassidy albums on vinyl!!

  • wow, I had this album when I was a kid, now I own Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Damned, etc. But I remember as a kid how awesome these guys were and pretty funny too boot.

  • one of the best Partridge Family songs!

  • one u will rem forever if ur a david cassidy fan... sentimental to me and most xx

  • Susan Dey was so pretty! Look at that stunning smile!

  • @AdmrlLocke Susan Dey really looks her age now.I imagine some of us do too.

  • @HattieLovesCattie Apparently I don't quite look my age. :-D

  • Whats up with Susan Dey? She doesnt want anything to do with the show. Never forget where you came from Susan! This show made you famous! You owe it to your fans!!

  • I agree!!!!!

  • @mgrella63 "She doesn't want anything to with the show"? It was three years in her life 40 years ago. FORTY YEARS AGO! Are you kidding? She can probably barely remember it, let alone give a damn about it now.

  • @mgrella63

Pulp magazines have speculated it was a wonderful and sometimes melancholy time in her life that is painful to revisit. Her and David were close but her feelings for him covered the gamut between friendship and love. For her to travel back to that time in her life is bittersweet and somewhat painful for she experienced (despite her beauty and fame) unrequited love. A lesson for all, no matter how much you have, it doesn't mean you have what you desire. Life is cruel that way.

  • I still think David Cassidy was beautiful. This is a really good song (a little bit of bubble gum never hurt anyone!) But Danny was/is still my favorite! He's a hoot!

  • i think rubin had the hots for mrs partridge

  • that was part of the show, manager/father to some degree, and always trying to control Danny

  • This song is one of Cassidy's favorite songs that he recorded. I like it too.

  • Gorgeous Partridge Family song - awesome music and lyrics. Takes me back to my pre-teen and early teen years. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • I love this music

  • I love this music, I grew up with this family..

  • I love this song...

  • Their best one....second is "It's One Of Those Nights". My opinion! Great songs. Come on Susan Dey... please get with the cast one last time. While everyone is still alive. :-)

  • BTW - Great work, Thanks for posting one of their better songs.

  • love this song

  • I was in the sixth and seventh grades when the Partridge Family aired on ABC and Keith and company were "producing" Top 40 hits I was the perfect domographic, but I don't remember ever being an ardent fan of the PF. I only watched the TV intermittently and didn't really dig too many of their songs, but this one is by far one of their best. I do remember thinking that Keith had one the earliest shag haricuts in history. He was a cutie

  • hip hop is garbadge always will be!! some guy talking over a drum machine?? yeh thats real original lmao

  • I wish more artists/groups would write more wonderful songs like this. Something with heartfelt meaning. Now days it's hop-hop this, rap that, gangster whatever. Come on' people.

  • @mkponoka

You are now that old fart you used to ridicule.

  • cool song david cassidy has a really nice singing voice.

  • I haven't thought about this song for a long time. For bubblegum, it was a pretty decent song.

  • "bubblegum" music... that's a term I haven't heard in a long time :)

  • Lovely words- brings back some memories with a young teacher I really fancied. He was only a few years older than me. We danced at a school social and held hands-scandalous!

  • This makes me so happy.

I am 16, and I wish that there more more mainstream bands played music like this.

It is just so smooth and moving.

I love David Cassidy so much:)

  • @CenterStage11 David Cassidy is probably older than your grandfather. That is sick.

  • Great Song! How refreshing to hear real instruments being played rather than the shit rap that has taken over today where everything is sampled and ripped off.

  • @equinepainter you think this candy pop is more original than hip-hop?

  • @procreator2006

There are real instruments being played with real arrangements---yes the music is 'candy pop' it's true, but it is refreshing to hear chord changes, etc, therefore, yes, I think it is more original.

  • Happy Birthday Susan Dey!! On this 10th day of December 2009.

  • grew up watching and enjoying this stuff thanks for the memory

  • Susan Dey is hot. I thought about ordering Up to Date. Sorry. Settled on Ace of Base greatest hits. but I still have 2 Partridge family albums.

  • being 7 at the time the show was on never thought susan was hot. but seeing her now wow picture her today with sexy cloths and implants

  • sure danny has had some problems but he is okay.

  • @dmiller60 He is on that Dumbest Crooks show on True TV.

  • not just the music is gone to crap,,so has tv..im glad i decided to try the internet,at first,,i though it was just another kids video game to escape the real world,,but u won;t find stuff like this on tv or radio anymore..can u say' "reality'"? lol

  • Is the guy that played their mgr.Rueben Kincaid still alive?

  • HE IS STILL ALIVE ( BORN 1931)

  • wasnt the episode with this song in it about when he was trying to date a princess? i am 44 yrs old and i love these songs and videos .

  • love it and the 70s when music was fun and britain was a safe and great place to be .also susan is hot

  • The USA and Canada were also safe , too bad the world has turned .Music is now garbage unless it is a classic artist

  • Ok half funny but Duh! wot has this got to do with this song wrong website me thinks

  • The "Partridge" (as in BIRD!) family... duh!

  • funny stuff

  • LOL!

  • GROWING UP IN THE 70s WAS A HAPPY MAGICAL TIME - MARC BOLAN T.REX DAVID CASSIDY ETC ETC . . SUSAN DEY HAD MY HORMONES FLYING , , WONDER WHERE AND WHAT SHES DOING THESE DAYS ? . .

  • I have this song's sheet music tattooed on my back!

  • Didnt Jessie and the Rippers rip this style off?

  • Wonderful video... as a child, (12), I thought David Cassidy was the living end! Simply adored him.... (along with Donny Osmond). Now as a 48 year old Woman, not girl... I can't help but think that Danny is probably better in bed! *grin*

  • You little tramp * : ) *

  • Their best song. OMG...Susan Dey..so beautiful!

  • a favorite song of mine i always liked litle red Danny Bonduce

  • this was a great song. it was undoubtably their best song and they had other good ones such as i think i love you and come on get happy. david cassidy does not get the credit he deserves for being a serious musician and singer as opposed to his half brother shaun who was just a not very talented pretty boy bubblegum fad teen idol like so many others over the years.

  • Was never much of a Partridge fan but this (I thought) was the best of their songs. I still love it almost 40 years later. Considering my life right now, the lyrics are haunting.

    For Mark

  • Ruby and the Rockits IS SO COOL!!!

After Partridge family, David suffered many years of being a has been! Read David Cassidys book. you will be amazed

  • i wish davi danny and the rest could've gotten together and brought back the show with episodes about there children growing up in a modern band. partridge family again. ruby's close..

  • I agree with you that would have been great if David,Danny and Susan if she would have done it come back with their children and families and Shirley of course as the grandmother..It would have been a PF fan's dream come true and the music could still continue into the next generation..Great idea i wish the actors considered it!

  • No thanks to Danny, he's too much of a psycho lately...

  • Hi Yea i know..I loved Danny as a child actor he made the show with his comedy great child actor but he has so many problems he keeps getting worse as he gets older it's a shame but i would love a PF reunion so much with the same actors Shirley,Dave Madden,David,Susan and Danny while they are still all alive it would be great for life long fans. Great show great memories!

  • I have an opinion about great music and people's ability to feel it deep in their soul. Not everyone has that ability ( which may explain some people's crappy taste) . David and the studio musicians created something that was great and unforgettable for many people, me included.

  • this music is much better than i remember

  • that was perfect.

  • We been travelin' in circles such a long, long, time, tryin' to say hello..

I have every album by the Partridge Family. Most of the time my friends think I'm crazy when I tell them I am a Partridge Family freak until they hear my sing every word. If you have ever had an album by them and read it cover to cover then you know what it means to be a fan. Elizabeth Rippinger

  • i agree with sikorski on this one-oh how all of us look so different these days-my hair is long ( 30") and my beard reaches my shirt pocket tops, and is now mostly grey, yet at almost 60 i still manage to rock on,God bless the 60's and 70's-!!!
