Would you block someone for making a "first view" comment even if it was someone who has been known to leave decent comments otherwise? Because I still think you severely overreact to that.
Actually I think blocking people for any reason is too extreme, even if I tell people to not say something (for example, making a "that's what she said" joke in today's Sunshine segment). Sure it might annoy me, but they have the right to say what they want, and I'll get over it in a matter of minutes.
If they're known to make decent comments otherwise, they wouldn't make a "first" comment in the first place. And even if they did, they wouldn't have any problems coming up with something constructive in the span of five hours. Nor should anyone, really, but that's beside the point.
I only block people that are disruptive and/or annoying to me and others. Sacrifice one for the good of many or some such silliness. It's kinda like asking a loud kindergartener to leave the room, ya dig?
I make both decent and "first" comments though. And I'm not talking about a decent first comment either, I mean I make normal ones and I make useless ones.
As for the five hour thing, it's very possible that they weren't online during that time.
Also, I'm not going to disagree with the concept of blocking/removing the comments from disrupting or offensive people. I just don't think first comments could ever be considered disruptive, no matter what anyone else says about it.

And there's the key - they're "useless". A waste of space, irritating. Essentially, spam. So I use a "spam blocker".
And anyone who cares about being first on a video can check Youtube within a five-hour span.
