  • This is amazing!. You sir are an awesome guitar player, letting your soul flow right through the music. Thank you for this amazing piece.

  • Thanks for taking on this gorgeous tune by the great Pat Metheny. You play it with heart.

  • I love it soo much! Thank YOU~

  • Hey, Tony .... I remember this from Witchita Falls album, my favorite Metheny, too. But somehow you make this sound like a modern piece written for classical guiter. You keep expanding the repertoire! Great tone and great arrangement. Jack in San Diego

  • Just Great!

Very nice playing and good solutions for this solo arrengement.

    Warm Regards from Brazil!

  • @racsouza

  • Thats a great song by Metheny!

  • Great job, Tony (as usual)

  • Beautiful. Thank you for posting.

  • Bill Evans (August 16, 1929 – September 15, 1980)

  • Great playing, man, but unlike Pat Metheny, you have tone worth listening to. I can't stand him.

  • Good morning Tony,

You always make me dream and stare out the windows. So much emotions and feelings in this one. Thanks mate!

  • Very sweet chords on this piece played so tenderly.

  • Amazing you learned by ear ! Great talent you are. I enjoy listening your play. Greeting from Holland.

  • @KruisenEnMollen

It also helped to *see* someone doing it as well. (see my favorites for a version by ursogiampietro62)

  • Bravo.

  • Beautiful..

  • Very nice. Metheny's music is my whole world, and you're one of the few of us left who is actually capable of retaining the chord progressions and the feel as accurately as humanly possible.

    Bravo!

  • @vampiroangelico

    I appreciate that. thanks.

  • Stunning! It´s one of my all time favoruite songs :=)

  • Y'know whats weird? This same video is in the "Suggested for You" and it has less views

  • I cant explain what it means to me with my little english, so I listen and enjoy!!!

    Cheers from Germany

    Werner

  • @KasugaD400

    Danke!

  • Wow! i was just listening 'If I could' by Pat, I think pat's concept of tone production and choice of right notes was awesome. Can you do the arrangements on 'If I could', i really love the simplicity of that melody. and by the way, you did a fantastic job on this one! i am loving it!

  • @Chiffoneire

don't know that one. what album is it on. i just picked up a recent solo guitar album of his ("one quiet night") that i'm giving a first few listens to. his music can be really hard to get a grasp of.

  • It's extremely difficult to capture the delicate and difficult harmony of Metheny's tunes. Here all the harmony is intact, Master. Almost SIX! minutes of relax and enjoyment.... Thanks, Tony!

  • @chamacojesus

thanks, Jesus. and I'd say this tune is one of his most harmonically straightforward. Probably what makes it a stand out choice for my kind of approach. A lot of his stuff I can't get a handle on. Too hard to figure out and diaphanous and impromptu and all that jazz.

  • Love the sound of that Taylor, and love your playing as always! Keep 'em coming!

  • i could listen to this all night long. congratulations one more time, what a beautiful piece.

  • That is a nice guitar

  • Damned, why ain't ya famous and making liveconcerts?

    You have to ...

  • Great choice--Pat Metheny is fantastic.

  • very nice, as always ... :)

  • Very Nice... & Good Choice

  • You are getting better and better! I hope that lot of young people will get inspiration from you and start learning guitar.

  • @Jyritegelane

thank you. I hope so, too.

  • Great choice, and great playing, like always!

  • GOOD. CALL.

  • Great stuff man! Thanks for sharin'!

  • Tony,

Well you went ahead and took one of my favorite songs and favorite artists, put your touch to it and made magic! Wonderfully feeling and subtle touch! You never fail to impress! Thanks for the enjoyment!

  • Having never heard this piece before, I visited the original over to the right in the suggested videos section. I must say I prefer your performance over the original. I think such a delicate piece as this requires a solo instrumental approach. The modernistic chordal sounds are really a standout over the more traditional opening. Without being buried beneath what I deem excessive synth beds & strings, the piece truly shines in its compositional variety. Outstanding, and thanks for posting! ~Jon

  • @FlyingHorseKnuckles

Yeah I imagine to someone coming to it nowadays the orig may sound a bit dated. Funny, it doesn't to me. It just takes me back to the summer of '84 when i lived on Martha's Vineyard. ah, to be 24 again. I suppose if Pat wrote and recorded it now he would use a full string section or something. but you must admit the body of the tune doesn't have very much synth. Thanks, buddy

  • @troubleclef So true. I suppose things only appear dated to those who didn't experience it fresh & new back-in-the-day. Like me and Kate Bush; none of her music seems dated to me. Ciao.

  • great as always. :)

  • i always look forward to your videos. thank you! :)

  • @ennajaymik

hope to put up more soon. thanks.

  • Very nice suddle touch to this Tony... way to go.

  • Sounds Lovely.

  • @noblesiner

    thanks

  • The Oasis is open :o)

  • Great x 1000

  • Pat Metheny (=awesome) + you (=awesome) = !!!

  • @Miriam89

    you're too kind. thanks

  • Truly fantastic, as always. The sound coming out of that instrument is just breathtaking.

  • @paintballmon135

    I appreciate that. thanks.

  • sweet jesus, that was incredible!! your truly one of the best guitarists I've seen in a long time!! I love metheny as well! keep up the great work!
