The key situation reminds me of when I found out that my dad's 1984 Dodge Daytona and 1982 Dodge Ram had the exact same key pattern. The weird thing was that while he bought the Daytona new, he bought the Ram used in 1991. What are the odds of both of those vehicles having the same key and pattern? What's even funnier is that we discovered it by accident after having had both vehicles for several years.
@Naturepheonix Depends on the engine. Many newer 2-cycle engines use a 50:1 ratio. Older ones tend to use 25:1 or even 16:1 (more oil). Both my mantis tiller and my snowblower use a 50:1 mixture.
I have 5 chainsaws and a 2 cycle Harley golf cart. I never use anything but cheap ethanol gas and I haven't had a ring or valve related problem in 15 years. I thought that guy was going to show a "new" way to make 2 cycle gas, like with something else for oil...instead, he marvels at a worn lock cylinder and everything else like he's stoned.
i kinda dot he same only i put my oil in first , then add aittle gas to the remains of the oil, then put it in the can the add the rest of the gas , it will mix itself
also this is great for people who don't know how to mix fuel, its so important, the oil in the fuel is the life of any 2 stroke motor, with out it you have major problems like cylinder scoring or worse complete engine break down, then you have a huge problem, and good idea on mixing the gas in the oil container, overall make more videos on the go, its neat to follow you on your travels, 5 *****
well if this was the 50s or early 60s GM vehicles had the option to remove the key as you where driving (ask Raconter1) and that is one messed up ignition! lol guess it explains there current situation, anyways nice video! like the traveling part, makes it interesting, lol and 2:12 laugh wasn't expected lol lol bank giving away popcorn? do they show movies as well? also i understand your concern of people thinking your talking to yourself lol, nice video Daniel, keep up the great videos
Now this is a interesting video. I always love your vids because they are both informative and entertaining. :D Your body is efficient alright, when your blowing fart bubbles out your butt! LOL I love popcorn! You make your 2-cycle mix the exact same way that I do, you are so cool! Oh shit, your ignition is fucked! That kind of thing scares me cause somebody could steal it! Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
I was told by an "expert" to use 89 instead of 87 octane due to the ethanol.
What Amsoli mix do you use? Amsoil claims 80-100:1 for all 2 cycles and swear it won't harm engines specifying 30:1 thru 50:1 mixes using dyno juice. I used to use 80:1 but am now using 50:1 to be safe.
I also use Stabil fuel stabilizer for all types of gas for my yard h/w to prevent clogs.
I'd never run ethanol fuel in a 2 cycle, it destroys the lubrication. Higher octane is recommended in 2 cycles normally because the fuel doesn't get used quickly and lower octane fuel spoils faster.
I've never had any luck with stabilizer.
I use amsoil at 50:1, I don't have the 100:1 mix but i THINK it is ok to use that in a 50:1 engine while mixed at 100:1.
I would always use the recommended mixture just to be safe. I use it at 32:1 for my dad's Snapper leaf blower, because that's what it recommends.
Just don't use synthetic oil in a new engine or one that hasn't been properly broken in yet, the synthetic oil is too slippery and the rings don't seat correctly! I used natural oil in my chainsaw until it was broken in but now I use Amsoil all the way :D
In MD, all gas is now blended w/ ethanol so we have no choice. This is why I'm using 89 octane. I am afraid 93 will burn valves.
I agree all 2 AND 4 cycle engines must be broken in w/ dyno juice for the rings to seat properly.
My LawnBoy calls for 30:1 and I have used 80 and now 50:1 Amsoil w/o problems. Their engineering department swears 80 or 100:1 won't hurt the engine, but I am chicken and use 50:1 for everything from the LB to the weed wackers.
cool, looks like your key switch is a bit worn out, we had an old chevy van where the key switch wore out so much that you didnt need the key at all so start it, at least if we ever lost the keys we wouldnt have a problem XD
you should use 89 octane

How about RC 2-strokes?
Like Fuelie or Nova engines etc etc
People say running 36/1 is nice some say they fried their engine running around 50/1
and wouldn't running under 25 just make huge amounts of smoke?

Whats with the battery gauge being so low? old battery? and the temp looks a little low too.
84chevyc10 2 years ago
Yep. Old battery, and the temp has always been low like that, ever since we got the vehicle.
DanielJaegerFilms 2 years ago
that temp is a good thing but his rad fan might be stuck because it can adjust it self to fan fast or slow from the temp coming from the rad

Oh, I hope you use a little extra oil in your 2 stroke gas with ethanol in it! We just have straight gasoline here with no alcohol added.
I use 93 octane in my 2 strokes, since the gas sits around a lot. I bet it gets used up pretty quick around the greenhouses though!
I like AmsOil 2 cycle synthetic oil. It's the best oil out there in my opinion.
My uncle's truck and my mom's car do that with the ignition lock too. When they get worn, if the key is the right shape, sometimes it can come out.

yeah sometimes ethanol is inevitable. I am lucky to be able to get regular normal fuel still.
93 octane burns slower and cooler than 87 or 89, it won't burn valves. I thought we were talking about 2 cycle engines though?
