  • @Wonton118 what was your length and width on the table

  • @iHustle306 Sorry for the late reply but the plywood you get is usually a 4 x 8 foot piece. At Home Depot, you can have one of the assistants cut the plywood for you, which I did, into a 3 x 8 ft piece. Good luck!

  • where do you get the legs?

  • @YourMamsMontages legs I got from lowes because home depot at the time was out of stock. Good luck bro.

  • awesome table. do you know offhand about how much the window locks cost?

  • @saucychurch23 They are about 5 dollars each. I bought two of them so 10 bucks approximately. Good luck!

  • @Wonton118 awesome, thanks so much

  • @americanpolack I was thinking about it but decided to put it on top so I could minimize any chance of the paint job being damaged during travel.

  • how big are the screws you used for the piano hinge?

  • @stlfan591 Screws will come packaged with the piano hinge. There were only two size piano hinges (3 foot long and 2 foot). The screws are quite small and I think they were...MAYBE 1/2 an inch. Could even be smaller. The only screws I was worried about peeking through the other side were the screws for the legs and the window locks BUT, they fit perfectly (that kind of luck usually doesn't happen to me haha).

  • how big of plywood do tou need? you didnt really explain that

  • @dannigirl465 The size of plywood that you buy from home improvement stores will most likely be a 4 x 8 ft piece of plywood. That is just standard. I had them cut it down to 3 x 8 and then cut that piece in half. So I was basically left with two 3 x 4 pieces of plywood AND the 1 x 8 piece (save it cause you never know). Thickness is 3/4 inch which is important because if you're going to use any of the locking mechanisms, chances are that the screws will be close to 3/4 inch. good luck man!

  • where did you buy the half circle window locks from?

  • @saucychurch23 I bought everything at Home Depot.

  • @Wonton118 awesome. thank you very much

  • what it you went for a bounce shot and the ball hit the hinge?

  • @NZenglishman Yes, the ball does hit the hinge if you hit it. The sweet spot for bounces on this table is above the opposite character.

  • @Wonton118 sweet. the table still going strong today?

  • @NZenglishman Indeed. Right now it's tucked underneath the bed to save some space in the cramped apt but sees some light on the weekends haha

  • @NZenglishman bounces are supposed to be thrown past the center line anyways!!.....Then again that might just be how I paly

  • @Dmccoy1971 I have used both locks which you saw but they didn't prevent the table from sagging inward. It wasn't much, but it was noticeable. So what I did was I bought rubber feet for the legs and once I put them on, I didn't have a problem with the sag. So now, the window locks are sort of like the safety and work nicely.

  • I am making mine now and I did mine so it folds like yours. My problem is the table sags in the middle where I cut it in half. I put hinges on the bottom and a sliding door lock on the bottom in the middle. My question is, did yours sag before using the sliding window locks?

  • @tmbslb03 ok so what type of sliding bolt lock are you using? Is it the really heavy duty one (Around ten dollars)? And yes mine did sag a tad. Here's my suggestion. I would get rubber feet for each of the four legs. If you have those, the legs won't slide preventing the table from sliding which is caused by the legs sliding outward.

  • @Wonton118 mine sags in the middle where icut the board in half so i could fold it. and like a lock for a bathroom door or something.

  • couple questions. 1) how well do you think that painting a table with spray paint would go? because I'm hoping that would make it a little cheaper... 2) just making sure. do the window lock screws work with the thickness of a 3/4 inch plywood board? 3) how does the piano hinge attach? is it just screwed in? 4) and if they are screwed in then how is it that the screws from the window lock on bottom dont interfere with the paino lock screws on top? Thanks

  • @Kierlack 1) Speaking Truthfully, I haven't used spray paint but I don't see the problem in it. The only thing i'd suggest is of course a waterproof/gloss to finish or your wood would warp of course. 2) the screws work PERFECTLY with 3/4. If it were 1/2 inch, the screws would have come through (assuming you're going to use window locks I used). 3) Screwed in and if you see at 1:02, the screws of the window locks will be slightly wider than the piano hinge itself so no worries. GOOD LUCK!

  • Wonton118, I looked through the comments and couldn't find this question so i'm asking.... Where did you purchase those two half-circle locks?

  • @eflo311 Everything I bought (excluding the legs) were at Lowe's. For some reason, Lowe's didn't have the banquet table legs...I duno haha.

  • @Wonton118 Thanks!

  • @Wonton118 i just got the banquet legs from lowes today, you jsut have to earch for them. they were hidden in the back near the foldable chairs. im working on building my own table right now.

  • Did you paint it before you cut it in half and installed the hinge? The lines are incredibly straight, very nice work.

  • @tomcat132 I had the wood cut at home depot and painted them separately before putting them together at the hinge. Thanks for the comment, man good luck on yours!

  • I cant seem to keep mine from fallin in on itself, tried some locks similar but cant seem to get it.... any suggestions?

  • @punisher187 I would try two things (have worked great for me). Option 1 is to get rubber stoppers that go on the bottom of the four legs. When you buy the legs, i'm pretty sure they are plastic right? Get rubber stoppers for the bottoms and voila! Option 2 is to buy a bolt lock that slides (much like you see on older doors). This is a much better hold that window locks. I would go with option one FIRST as it is cheaper :)

  • hey, do you know what the dimensions of the triangles are? im talking about the height and width of the triangle btw.

  • @chadtvu 16'' height and 14'' width. It is the measurements to fit a 10 rack game.

  • @Wonton118 thanks man, what kind of wood did you use btw? im thinking about using a 3/4" MDF

  • @chadtvu I used simple Plywood that was 3/4 (you want to use something atleast 1/2 inch because you don't want the screws to come out the other side when attaching the legs. I found that the screws were a perfect fit for the 3/4 inch plywood and if I were to have use 1/2 inch, the screws definitely will penetrate to the other side (in this case, the playing surface). If I were to make another, I'd try to get a lighter plywood or make my table 2x2 cause it gets heavy carrying it around!!! :)

  • @Wonton118 2x8 not 2x2 my mistake.

  • damn i wanna play some pong now haha

  • What did you use to cut the hinge?

  • I didn't cut the piano hinge to make it fit. They came in two sizes: 36" and 24". Since I made my table 3x8 it was perfect.

  • Hey where did u get the piano hinge and what were the measurements?

  • @BlubberyChimp It is 36 inches across. They had a choice of silver and gold plated piano hinges. They cost around 10 bucks I believe. They also had 2 food piano hinges though so if you make a 2 X 8 it would we perfect. Hope that helped. Cheers.

  • @BlubberyChimp Oh and Home depot

  • Thanks man i was ablout to build my own with crapy hinges and i couldnt figure out a way to stop the table from falling in on itself.

  • Thanks a lot for the window lock idea. I couldn't think of a way to make a table without folding in on itself.

  • What's the purpose of the window lock, does that lock it in place in when its in the down position?

  • @Bjoobs1995 When it is put into playing position, it locks it so that it doesn't fold in on itself while you're playing.

  • For $100 dollars its possible to make two 2x8 tables...there was definitely enough paint left to make an extra so if you think about it, not only is it a way to be creative, but you'll get a lot of comments on it as I have and you'll save money.

  • yea you might as well get the bpong table for the amount you spent. and it's easier to carry.

  • why don't you paint the bottom with waterproofing?

  • fir 100$ might as well buy the official table

  • holy crap imma start this in 2 weeks! and what song is THIS!

  • What size screws did you use? i.e. to make sure they don't poke through the top

  • All screws used were provided when you buy the legs. no purchasing of individual nails necessary. As long as you get 3/4 inch plywood or thicker, you'll be fine. This table uses 3/4 inch thicj plywood.

  • where did you get the folding table legs? thats what im looking for right now to finish mine. home depot?

  • Yessir.

  • so I drill the piano hinge on the top and then i use the window locks on the bottom to create support?

did just get a 8x4 plywood and cut it in half?

  • yup...8x4 and got 1x8 cut off so that it left me with 3x8 to make the table.

  • How much paint would i need for the Main color and the Accent color? How much sealer?

  • 1 pint for black (that's for the 2-3 coats), 1 pint primer, 1/4 pint white, 1/2 pint sealant.

  • thanks...one more question. interior primer right?

  • Got me there...Not sure what I got actually. haha My bad.

  • where did you find the hinge? is there a support problem in the middle? and what demintions is the triangles?

  • pretty legit. i like the center hinge

  • Do you have a problem with the middle of the table not being strong enough without a support?

  • whats the name of the song in this vid?

  • DOE - "Coming Down"

  • the plywood is 3/4, but what is the length and width of the plywood? I love that table and how its easy to bring places since it folds.

  • hey it's 3 by 8 ft and thx.

  • how much did these cost?

    -plywood

    -middle hindge

    -table legs

  • table legs...~16 ...The piano hinge was 10...plywood was the most at 40-60? I think...Really just depends on what type of wood. I opted to get a better grain so that it looked a little nice with paint.

  • how about the window hindge?

  • 10 bucks..

  • question wonton, where can one purchase the continuous hinge or the half circle window locks? I have a table similar to yours, but it can't fold.

  • sweet table

  • Next project....nuclear pong balls

  • damn i wouldnt drink the beer that ball lands in

  • I'm liking the signature on the back Er!

  • haha get outta here...Can't wait to put my name on it. One night..it will happen.

  • Eric, did you seriously make that? Looks Sick... What do the characters say?

  • looks good bud !

  • Nice job!
