Great song. Does anyone else think that Dessa's flow from about 0:55 to 1:04 sounds like Eminem's? A lot of internal rhyming, and her voice even takes on a similar tone for a moment.
And please don't hate on me for comparing Dessa to a mainstream rapper...I just found the similarity interesting.
@MShepherd88 yep she does. and don't feel ashamed, I don't listen to a lot of mainstream, but Eminem can rap like a motherfucker, like him or not, credit is due.
@slapbass18 Oh yeah, certainly not ashamed...I have a huge respect for Eminem and his ability to string words together the way he does. Most mainstream rappers don't come even close to the talent in the underground rap community, but Eminem is an exception.
@slapbass18 Yeah, it seems a lot of underground fans are pretty quick to dismiss all mainstream rap, but I think there's a lot of mainstream talent too (Eminem, Talib Kweli, Common, etc.)...you just have to wade through all the shit to find it, ha.
@MShepherd88 Eminem lost his touch. i mean come on his earliest shit was hella watery. his whole thing was to be "comedic" and that was like rap for little kids. and now that he is trying to be serious, he turned out to be more like the watery piece of shit he really is. Remember, just cause you make a lot of money doesnt mean you have talent. that only means that there are some dumb mofos in this world.
@THEREALSIDGUY I'm not saying that I listen to Eminem regularly, I simply respect his amazing ability to string words together and do enjoy listening to his songs. I haven't bought a single Eminem album because while he can rhyme with of the best of them, I prefer the actual lyrical content of other rappers or groups.
@TheKellyLo um... dessa isnt from detroit. do you know anything about doomtree?

Sexy, like the taste of whiskey on a woman's lips. I am ashamed, but pleasantly so. Thank you Doomtree!
