According to one passenger on that plane, she said that the security at Amsterdam was lazy since they did not do any body searches nor checks on carry on luggage. 411. The flight originally started in Nigeria where they already had him on the list, but allowed him to board the plane. The plane stopped in Amsterdam where he got the PETN and then left for Detroit where two passengers held him down while he did not know how to operate the explosive. It is clear that Nigeria and Amsterdam failed in their security with preventing him from boarding the plane and allowing the chemical agent on there without doing any body search. The US had done its job.
