@donnyab It requires the Arduino Firmata for Processing, very easy to download and install. Processing and Arduino are build for each other, with each other in mind.
Yeah, I'm using the USB port, and that powers the Arduino and provides the signal throughput into Processing. The Processing module for Arduino is required, and unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it (off the top of my head). Googling Processing Arduino should provide the necessary set-up of Processing to connect to Arduino, though.
