  • is my hulusi broken? it can only play 3/4 different notes. most fingerings don't adjust the sound. what's wrong with it?

  • Do I need any special reed for it or membrane like the dizi?

  • HELP MEEE , how can i buy this wonderful instrument? :) compliment , i saw all your video ;)

  • not bad

being a hulu si player myself and chinese to boot i must say very well dont

  • Hi, thanks for making this video, it's very helpful. I have a question though, how would you clean a hulusi? I've got one and I have no idea how to clean it. Googled it too but nothing relevant came up. Thanks in advance

  • your favorite instrument is called a hulu si

    "hoo loo sih"

  • I have a question: my dad recently brought home a hulusi from his trip to china. In trying to learn how to play, I've found that even when I change finger positions, the instrument doesn't change notes, unless i close all the holes. Doing this, it produces a very beautiful sounds, but all the other positions will produce just a car horn sounding noise. Is it perhaps broken?

  • Please leave it closed....

  • Hi great vid... i love my hulusi and i'm trying to learn how to play but am finding it hard finding sheet music would you be able to send me some please and also the narnia song it sounds amazing

  • @Squeemin I dont have sheet music specifically for the Hulusi. I find piano or flute music and I play the main melody. Just find out what key your Hulusi is and then take any sheet music in that key and you should be able to play it on the Hulusi.

  • @inspirationalflute Thanks for the help

  • @inspirationalflute Thanks for the tip my hulusi is in B flat

  • wow, HOW MAY INSTRUMENTS DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY??

  • @QW5ub255bW91cw I can play about 20-25 different instruments

  • @inspirationalflute

    incredible, can you list some?

  • @QW5ub255bW91cw Sure, I play piano, flute, alto flute, bass flute, Dizi, ocarina, recorder, tin whistle, Mijwiz, ney,..just to name a few

  • This looks like a pretty easy instrument to learn. Am I right?

  • @SirDruhHu Yes, it is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. :)

  • where did you buy your hulusi, im trying to find a good quality one that has that plug on the drone.

  • @Dakobah20 melody of china, they have a great one with keys that has 2 drones. But it's $160...

  • @Dakobah20 I bought mine from virtualvillage[dot] com It cost me about $29 and this particular one I'm playing is in the key of Bflat

  • I request the song Tian mi mi.

    Thanks

  • is that a bflat hulusi? I feel ripe off, cuz i bought a $30 c hulusi from ebay from interachina, and i got it today, but the sound doesn't have any monotone, like do re me fa la....T_T....any help or any website that have really good quality hulusi with lower price?

  • @Juinor I got mine from a place called Virtualvillage[dot] com and it cost me about $30 It is also a Bflat Hulusi and I think it works well. When I first bought my Hulusi I though it was broken too LOL but, I just found that I was not using enough air pressure to get the notes at first.

  • I like it. What other interesting wind instruments do you have?

  • @JohnBurgessMusic - I also play a TON of ethnic flutes and pennywhistles. I can also play the Egyptian mijwiz (requires circular breathing), Chinese Dizi, and Turkish Ney.

BTW, good luck with your concert coming! Hope you are prepared :)
