  • This is a song about forbidden love, not 9/11 attack or anything like that...

  • What earthquake was this?

  • @airadam777 you're an asshole!

  • ..I cant watch it ...

  • Doesn't fit at all, 9/11 was a false flag attack...

  • @ivandecastres true

  • WOW! I will be posting this video on 9/11/11 as a tribute.

  • Music super but I think you're forcing the song into a 9/11 theme. Doesn't fit.

  • Why ruin a good song by associating it with this shite?

  • ... couldn't watch it.

  • @missizzlefly can't stop crying...

  • Musically and lyrically, Thom Yorke's pretty much all you can ask for (aside from Damon Albarn and maybe Britt Daniels). I try to create similar sounds with the music I make.

If any of you have a moment, I'd love to hear what you think of my music. I have a new video up on my channel. Thanks!

  • c.i.a cunts

  • Internet hate!

  • This was pretty depressing. :/

  • Okay, not a reference at all. All the more reason to not use 911 images.

  • I know there's the "helicopters in New York" line at the beginning, which is a veiled reference ti 911 at best, but it really doesn't justify 911 footage for the whole damn song. Sorry to be a dick, but seriously. Make some actual choices.

  • @lastwavefilm actually the album this was released on came out a year before in October of 2000.

  • @lastwavefilm it is his/hers own choicr to use what the fuck he/she wants to so relax or leave. Why do you think you can be the judge of this..

  • @123spasser123 Internet hate!

  • It's amazing how those airplanes managed to defy the laws of physics in making those building collapse in on themselves, it's almost as if it were a planned demolition or something :/

  • Have they ever performed together live??

  • This video combined with this song gives me goosebumps.

  • The famous U.S. double penetration!

  • this particular match of song and film is almost too intense in its cohesiveness. thanks for making this video as a tribute. its moving and sad, yet a brilliant illustration to a song clearly written as a love song to NYC.

  • NEVER FORGET

  • @norbertocastro I've forgot!

  • A tribute to all people murdered on that day, no terrorism attack just an other war game made by Israel and the us.

  • NEVER FORGET - 9/11 Was an inside job carried out by Israel to drag the U.S. into the Middle East to further the Zionist agenda --- the slaughter and destruction of Islam and Arabs! FALSE FLAG OPERATION! Remember the USS Liberty! Do not believe the media and government lies! THIS MESS WE ARE IN IS BECASE OF ISRAEL!

  • i am in new york, no need for words now, i feel like new york 2001, now.

  • ;(((

  • this mess we are in ( istanbul )

  • This is a great song!!

  • And I have seen

    The sunrise over the river

    The freeway

    Reminding of

    This mess we're in

and these final lyrics could easily mean that another day passed and they're alone... waking alone and seeing the skyline missing a once vital piece

  • The city sunset over me

this could mean so many things...the person singing is the loved one that died..or...the person realizes their loved one is gone

    Night and day

    I dream of

    Making love

    To you now baby

this part could easily mean the aftermath of it all living alone without the one you love..holding on to every intimate moment you could remember

  • Can you hear them..The helicopters

I'm in New York..No need for words now

We sit in silence..You look me..In the eye directly

You met me..I think it's Wednesday

    The evening

    The mess we're in

these lyrics could signify the initial shock of attacks..being that 9/11 happened on a Tuesday...the Wednesday after they were still looking for loved ones...still grasping to hope

  • a huge fan of both yorke and harvey...i totally understand the actual meaning of this song...but after some thought...and a boring evening at home i came up with this...may shed some light

most likely this may be posted in 3 parts *LOL*

  • PJ Harvey recorded the album in 2000, so it doesn't have anything to do with 9/11. It's an interesting idea to pair the 9/11 images with the song, but I don't think it works for me.

  • @unclvinny

yeah this is pretty weak to associate the two. the lyrics are obviously about a relationship.

  • I dont get it, how does 9/11 fit into this song? Yes, it mentions skyscrapers and new york but thats about it. For instance how does "the freeway remind me of, this mess we're in"?

I like the video tho..it almost makes me cry, and im not even american..

  • nothing to do with the video

  • Oh my!!! Beautiful!

  • now i see how the video links with the music.

  • great song

  • Great mix of visuals to a beautiful song...

  • this song is great, I am so glad I heard it on my cd player first, when words fail music speaks

  • These are real musicians.

And the video gives a new meaning to the song.

    Great job.

  • great...although hard to look at after being there for real. i have quite a bit of footage i shot on 9/11 as well but ive never been able to look at it.

    cheers.

  • Brilliant job, very hard to watch as always, but very beautiful with the song, the song gives the video an optimistic, and things are going to be o.k. kind of feel. nice job.

  • DE PUTA MADRE ::::Love u

  • Brilliantly done.. still hits home.

  • brilliant and thx.

  • love this yorke-harvey-combination!!! they're amazing together. love it.

  • images that still awaken emotions...

Great song, York & Harvey, magical indeed...
