Yes. YES! YES!!!! Finally, advice on REGULAR side control that does not involve transitioning to another dominant position (like knee-on-belly or the mount). I have been looking for something like this for a while. I'm starting to feel more confident in my guard passing, and I'm always ending up here, but I can never seem to hold onto it or do anything with it. I hope this will help.
Very good video with sound concepts. I work most of the time from side control in my class and your video is making me feel more confident when I roll with the bigger guys.
Great detail, thank you for explaining it this way. More videos should be like this, explaining the theories of each position, what to do and what not to do, more than simple moves.
This is a great video. I work well with my escapes and finishes from the bottom but have never had a very strong top game. These details are what I need and have never been explained as such to further improve my game. Thanks!
awesome video. i lost my last mma fight because of lack of knowledge of basic body mechanics and this video as well as on you did on positional escapes from side control are helping me see huge holes in my game. too bad all these jujitsu teachers dont explain the body mechanics the way you do cuz its crucial. peace
Thank you so much. I wrestle well and pass guard well, but other positions for me are scrambles often enough to be a concern. It's easier with punches but I don't want to miss the fundamentals for each position. I ask my coach what will hold you, he gives me an explanation more or less stating he's more experienced. That it'll come, but these are the details I've been searching for. He's a great coach. Some things I guess he has a harder time explaining
Very good. Thanks!
