To be honest Dugtrio was at least really good in NU, while Gastro was mediocre in RU.

The smogon usage stats are based on how much pokemon are used in the Pokemon Online battle simulator on the Smogon server, so if you were playing wifi it was probably against people not familiar with smogon tiers or something.
