I never went to iraq but was stationed in the usaf guarding the nations most vital resources. I got no ptsd but at times being unable to adjust I feel the cost of war affecting me. And without the military I'm having a hard time readjusting civilians just don't get it.

definitely. i go through it now and the treatment i get through the VA is lack luster and the compensation i get from the Army still is not what i feel is acceptable. theres many days i just can't be around people and i'm lucky to get sleep. i ruined many friendship because of my PTSD. its not something to be taken lightly but many people do not understand it. i think that Sgt. Dunson helps bring knowledge to those who do not know. i too was a Sgt and know how it feels after a 15 mo deployment

Many young men and women join the military to help make a difference, but what happens is quite the oppisite. By then its too late. Build an army, build a missle and the rest of the world follows suit. Why not feed the hungry, help the poor, educate the world instead of destroy it. He wears his uniform in all of his music videos because his songs are about war, and the effects of war. Plus I wasn't a "fobbit" I was a Lieutenant.

@joe18maynard an embarrassment because he is not afraid to speak from his heart, even though he is a combat killer. that takes balls. 11B here, and i dont agree. the one good thing about it is we go from 0 to 100 in snap and back to 0. the real 11B's help each other out, even with PTSD thats what we do, we take care of our brothers.

SGT I thank you for the sacrifice you have given as you have lost so much more then needed ever; as many many soldiers do. Not many people speak up against things like this anymore.If I do maybe someone will listen...oneperson is affected. Thanks you for the comment. Hey, I love your music alot. im 14 and ever since i could walk i always wanted to join the military. but when i turned about 10 or so i thought real hard about it and all i want to do is join the Marine Corps ever since that day. about a year ago i stumbled upon your music on itunes and ever since then you and "Soldier Hard" are the only people i ever listen to on my ipod. I have a man I love more then my own life in Iraq for the third time. He has PTSD so bad he turned into exactly what he is talking about...I was scared for the first time in mmarriage and I stood by him and I fought for him and I went to command I went to the cops and I beggedn and I pleaded if he went again he was going to possibly not come home, that he would probably do it to himself and I was in tears and they sent him anyway and he divorced me..THE ARMY PUSHED IT. HE WASN'T ALLOWED HOME

It is the best song to date. The sad part, it is very true. People that have never been to combat can't understand where you are comming from. Soldier don't get the help they need from the goverment and so sucide is the only way out of it. Which is sad.

Wow amazing. It makes me sad to see the effects of war. We all make mistakes. We want to help eachother. Many young men and women join the military to help make a difference, but what happens is quite the oppisite. By then its too late. Build an army, build a missle and the rest of the world follows suit. Why not feed the hungry, help the poor, educate the world instead of destroy it. That would be something we all could be proud of. at the end of the day we are all human no matter where we live

I like the realness and message. Back in the early 1970's our troops came home and found themselves in similar circumstance. The song "Rock Your Baby" was the background soundtrack to their lives and was the birth of disco. I'd sure like to hear this song sampled with your subject matter. It would make it old school and connect with a much broader audience.
