Madonna was on the ball, she recognized NIck and helped Nick with launching his pop career. Madonna has a genuine interest and appreciation of different cultures and races. This obviously was a double edge sword as on one hand it gets him a record deal but on the other it creates cynical media coverage and jealousy. It seems Europe appreciated Nick and accepted him. I'm from Australia and well I don't think anyone knows who Nick Kamen is. I know because I used to lived in London
