kendo was actually used in wars in japan where as fencing is a sport and was never used in real combat

@SEBASTIANmichaelis1t That's not true, kendo is very different from how sword fighting was used in real combat.The roots of kendo can be found here, but not kendo itself.

Fencing is better. At least there is none of this wa ki do wa B.S. A hit is a hit!
In any sword fighting if the sword touches you, you should get a point regardless.
