see when you kick it into overdrive are you doing like a g chord and then going up one string with the g chord and are you using the 5th 2nd and 3rd fret

If you're talking about the chorus part, I'm playing these chords in this order, D, C, G, C, G. That repeats. The D chord would be (x577xx), C chord is (x355xx), G is (355xxx).
