@13BlaCKpsychoGoatzz Setup->Video and Audio preferences->Enable full resolution preview (make sure it is checked) I would also personally recommend turning off background rendering. Seems to work faster and never crash with it turned off.

I found out from an Avid representative that my PC isn't fast enough for handling any movie-making software. Then I found out from a representative of my computer's manufacturer, Motion Computing, currently, it doesn't even make any computers that can handle any movie-making software.
In Pinnacle HD Studio 15 for Windows XP, I imported, edited, and made a video movie, but, while the video works, the audio is not working. How do I make the audio work? It is not my PC's fault, as other videos that I have made recently, including just yesterday, after being imported, edited, and played in the same PC, include, along with the working video, a working audio.

I'm having an issue with this program. When I put a compatible video file in the sound track, it plays just fine when I scroll back. I can hear it play backwards and it sounds weird like it should. But when I go to play it forward, it makes no noise. I've tried adjusting the volume, but it doesn't work. Please help.
@seeyditti If you right-click on you text layer and select ''always show overlay-track'' you should have an extra layer! But that's the max, Pinnacle Studio really need to adjust that...

hey. i downloaded the trial of pinnacle 15. its on e new computer so i dont know where to connect the problem too but what happends is i import a converted movie but than when i play it in the pinnacle it plays in fast forward...
cause 14 was missing the simplest transition, where it fades from 1 picture to another. studio 14 had a bunch of crap ones, like fadeing to black or some stupid screen flying in
good software but its like a crash magnet if your pc is weak get it as stepping stone to becoming a professional video editor dont start with sony vegas pro if you dont have at least a good 2-3 years experience of editing videos
Pinnacle Studio Crashes more than any other program out there. I have used them all. come on Avid program developers. Get with the program. If it weren't for auto save, you would be up Blank creek without a paddle. It's a good program, this would make it great.

@BennyHawes Just a heads up, turning off the background rendering feature in the 'audio and video preferences' has stopped the crashing for me. The change also seemed to increase performance for me while editing newly imported video. I've not yet noticed any downside to turning the feature off.

This program might be great, but it's not user friendly at all. Lots of unnecessary steps to create effects in videos. Come on, even WMM understands that merging two clips should be as easy as click and drag. Not Pinnacle, though.
I found Vegas Movie Studio HD much easier to work with (and $80 cheaper).
@Puzkajuzzi You go to the effects tab under "Speed". Then, the speed percentage will either be faster (over 100), slower (under 100), or just normal (exactly 100). You can drag the end of the clip WHILE at the speed tab to increase or decrease the speed. Hope this helps answer your question.
@severaleffects I just bought Pinnacle Studio Collection 15 and noticed Avid has more video layers. But it's too late I've already dropped the money. I'd love the see at least one more video layer.

Has anyone else had the problem of no sound in the preview? I remember having this problem with 11 now I have it with 15 and can't seem to resolve the issue. Help anyone? BTW, I am cursed with using vista.
@ZeddZar - No Sound in Preview. I get it too. I make a point of saving frequently and then when I get "No Sound" just reload V15. Solves the issue everytime until I get it happen again. Data gobbler this program, frequent freezes occur. Seems typical of Editing software. I would like to see a seperate Menu Add On rather than a simple one built in.
@GaiusICaesar That is the best thing about Pinnacle Studio...it is great for beginners...it is easy to use...drag and drop editing...you will be making your next film in no time...plus the great thing is that you can upload to You Tube to share with friends and families.

@AnthonyMartorina well after i deleted my cpu & reinstalled everything it did. you should really fix that problem. when i googled it alot if people are having this problem. only fix is to delete your computer
i use pan and zoom setting 3.00 that gets rid of line at top try setting to windscreen or 16:9 on the project aswell as capture device hope that helps
@AnttiTea A quick way to do it...is to right click on the clip in the timeline and select..."Zoom Picture To Fill Frame"...this will work for video and also for photos too.
@TheNoNameUsername It is always important to have a good computer that handles HD well too. If you have an older computer it may not work well with HD. If you computer is slower, Studio will let you turn off background rendering. This way you do not have to wait for effects to render...you can finish your editing and render on output later.
@1mileymandyfan The motion titles are really cool...you can easily add animated titles to all of your videos. The Ultimate Version also comes with all of the Red Giant Plug-ins too (Toon-It, Particular, Knoll Light Factory, Shine, Magic Bullet, 3D Stroke, Trapcode) and a Green Screen. The Red Giant stuff is cool...you can create particles, explosions and graphic animations. So there is a lot more in the Ultimate Version then just the Motion Title. It is definately worth it.

@xMTJGxTeaM The Pinnacle Studio Software can record from your television if you are using the Moviebox hardware. This hardware has analog and Svideo connections and you are able to capture via these connections. It is not a TV tuner...Pinnacle use to be the leader in TV tuner technology but they sold that business to someone else.

@SacredEffect They release a new version every year as expected, Ive bee using them since version 8, and have owned every version since, Now I'm upgrading to AVID studio, and its all been worth every penny to me.
@arveny1 AVID Studio is really cool. It now has unlimitted layers of timeline editing. It also has a library that lets you do some pre-production on your video, photo and audio assets before I ever go to the timeline. For example, I can fix the temperature and brightness of a photo or video in the corrections editor and then when I drag it to the timeline when editing the asset is already corrected. It makes working on my movie faster.
@arveny1 AVID Studio has unlimitted layers now...which is just amazing...if you have grown up with Pinnacle Studio, then you know you had to be very creative when creating layered looks. AVID Studio also has a library now ,which will allow you to edit and enhance my photos, videos and audio before ever going to the timeline. I can also tag my content to, which helps me when I am looking through 15,000 photos of my family.

@theindustryexposed The archive and restore feature is really amazing in Stuido 15. It is great to be able to take my whole movie and back it up and place it on an external hard drive. The best part is that I can restore it any time. I was able to backup a movie I did in my office and bring it home to my computer and restore it. It was so easy and so cool. This new feature is really amazing.

@TheThunder190 yes you are able to because I use a flip camera and it records in mp4 format and it works fine in Pinnacle

@XDUnratedGamingXD Is this something that just occurred? Have you ever been able to use the Importer? If the importer was working before, did you add some new software to your computer? Have you contacted technical support? You may want to try reloading the software.

@AnthonyMartorina i updated to 15 then it shut down automatically i restarted it then i get a error saying importer has stopped working. p.s that was a late delay i had to redo my WHOLE computer to fix it

@AnthonyMartorina well after i deleted my cpu & reinstalled everything it did. you should really fix that problem. when i googled it alot if people are having this problem. only fix is to delete your computer

i use pan and zoom setting 3.00 that gets rid of line at top try setting to windscreen or 16:9 on the project aswell as capture device hope that helps

@AnttiTea A quick way to do it...is to right click on the clip in the timeline and select..."Zoom Picture To Fill Frame"...this will work for video and also for photos too.

how well can this program handle full HD video? Do you have to render it like every 10 seconds after you add effects?

@TheNoNameUsername It is always important to have a good computer that handles HD well too. If you have an older computer it may not work well with HD. If you computer is slower, Studio will let you turn off background rendering. This way you do not have to wait for effects to render...you can finish your editing and render on output later.

@adtennessee The logo means that you do not have to highest version. To remove those logos you need to unlock the higher version. I hope that helps!

i wanna get studio 15, but the ultimate version ($40 more) comes with motion titling. is it worth paying the extra just to get the motion titling?

@1mileymandyfan The motion titles are really cool...you can easily add animated titles to all of your videos. The Ultimate Version also comes with all of the Red Giant Plug-ins too (Toon-It, Particular, Knoll Light Factory, Shine, Magic Bullet, 3D Stroke, Trapcode) and a Green Screen. The Red Giant stuff is cool...you can create particles, explosions and graphic animations. So there is a lot more in the Ultimate Version then just the Motion Title. It is definately worth it.

@xMTJGxTeaM The Pinnacle Studio Software can record from your television if you are using the Moviebox hardware. This hardware has analog and Svideo connections and you are able to capture via these connections. It is not a TV tuner...Pinnacle use to be the leader in TV tuner technology but they sold that business to someone else.

@NicoleeMarie59 The software is written for the PC but I have seen people running it on a Mac using Bootcamp. (Pinnacle does not support this but I have seen it)

@AnthonyMartorina yap, i'm waiting for a test version to download from avid, to test the new avid studio. then is possible to change my opinion, but pinnacle studio 15 (compared to 14) remain a desilussion, money 4 nothing. thx 4 comment.
ps: premiere is too much expensive, only sony vegas or power director is really apropriate for a beginner. premiere and final cut is for advanced pros, like wedding shooters.

@arveny1 AVID Studio is really cool. It now has unlimitted layers of timeline editing. It also has a library that lets you do some pre-production on your video, photo and audio assets before I ever go to the timeline. For example, I can fix the temperature and brightness of a photo or video in the corrections editor and then when I drag it to the timeline when editing the asset is already corrected. It makes working on my movie faster.

@arveny1 AVID Studio has unlimitted layers now...which is just amazing...if you have grown up with Pinnacle Studio, then you know you had to be very creative when creating layered looks. AVID Studio also has a library now ,which will allow you to edit and enhance my photos, videos and audio before ever going to the timeline. I can also tag my content to, which helps me when I am looking through 15,000 photos of my family.

I bought Pinnacle Ultimate 11 in stores back on Christmas 07 for $140 and it had a Pinnacle Plus disc instead. I upgraded to Pinnacle Ultimate 12 in 08 for $120 and the next year you guys bring Pinnacle 14, and now Pinnacle 15? This is an Apple-di*k move right here. Can I get a coupon code or something for Pinnacle 15 since I've already purchased two versions of this software with minor changes...?

@theindustryexposed The archive and restore feature is really amazing in Stuido 15. It is great to be able to take my whole movie and back it up and place it on an external hard drive. The best part is that I can restore it any time. I was able to backup a movie I did in my office and bring it home to my computer and restore it. It was so easy and so cool. This new feature is really amazing.
