  • Just remember all or most of the politicians are EU controlled irrespective of how `Nice` they appear to be?

  • C'mon, hannan. Just join UKIP already

  • The Conservative Eurosceptics should join UKIP, it will boost UKIP massively.

  • @Theaverable

I am a Greek who watch the wonderfull politicians you have like Nigel Farage, Godfrey Bloom, Paul Nuttall and here we see Daniel Hannan. Also to mention mrs Marta Andreasen who should be considered as a model to all women. You have great politicians and we are stuck with the shithole of universe.

  • VOTE UKIP!

  • Nigel for PM.

  • Does anyone know why Mr. Hannan isn't prime minister? :/

  • @matthewanisfeld becuase he's not leader of his party.

  • If Cameron weren't such a push-over and had kept his promise he probably could have saved a lot of votes from going to UKIP.

  • Amazingly, a year after Cameron's first U-turn on Lisbon, he has managed to perorm another one! Does he do encores? I guess so!

  • Amazingly, a year after Cameron's first U-turn on Lisbon, he has managed to peform another one!

  • Nigel and Daniel make a good team

  • The three examples, by three parties, of failing to carry through the promise of a referendum indeed must undermine public trust in their elected representatives and (one time) governors.

  • I love Farage but I hate Hannan, he went to fox news and sold out the NHS and played to fox news's tune of evil socialized medicine.

  • @ha991s ye... good on him. Read the article 'health care is not a right' by leonard peikoff and tell me you still believe in a national health service.

  • @snakeinthegrass20

I read it. Raises an eye brow but I'm still with socialized medicine. You'll never convince a working class or middle class Brit or Frenchman the NHS is awful. A family member of mine has had surgery, another had cancer and another has had a transplant. All family members are back at work healthy and happy. Plus it is covered under nation insurance which is 1% of my salary...1%...what more could you ask for?

  • @ha991s

I admire you for reading it, but it only 'raises an eyebrow'? I have had sucessful surgery on the NHS; we have some fantastic doctors and nurses. So think of what could they do in a system operated in the marketplace, ending the multi-millions going down the drain each year. Think what they would do in a system where they have rights, for a start maybe our best doctors wouldn't emigrate to the US or east as soon as they qualify!

  • @snakeinthegrass20 In the USA, HK or singapore you can be diagnosed and operated on in the same week here it takes longer than that js to get your name down to join a queue. What of those who've died through waiting to get an operation or through disease caught in hospital or any of the endless cases of poor care? The point is a fit healthy adult paying the medical bills of someone sickly, overweight and unemployed as a result is ABSOLUTELY IMMORAL.

  • Love em both :) VOTE UKIP!

  • I dislike the presenter. He talks too much. That's what the guest speakers are supposed to do.

  • haha so true about lost, thats pretty much what the cause of the EU is.

  • Dave's Boutique.

  • We shall see if you're right or wrong. I don 't know what cuckoos have got to do with it, though. This is serious business.

  • 1957Rotu Yes, however, people won't vote UKIP, not because they don't believe in their policies but because they think they think that they should vote for a mainstream party, because those are the only parties that will win and their UKIP vote will be wasted. In other words, Conservative may beat Labour- the lesser of two evils.

  • Farage seems to think that the UKIP campaign "will cost the Conservatives a lot o votes". My own view would be that he is living in cloud cuckoo land and that they will not cost the Conservative many votes.

  • It seems UKIP are the only thing we have left, our last remaining hope for our freedom and our British sovereignty. Where has it all gone? We drifted futher and further to the Marxist, fascist left thinking we were in our centre, and before we realised it, we were under the spell of socialist Europe.

  • @334286 If UKIP were genuinely "the only thing we have left, our last remaining hope for our freedom and our British sovereignty", then UKIP would romp to victory in the next British General Election. But, of course, that will not happen and UKIP will finish fourth overall (instead of first).

Perhaps as high as 90% of the British population are opposed to the EU (as currently constituted). But, when it comes to the crunch, those people will not vote for UKIP in a General Election.

  • @1957Rotu

Unfortunately, the British people by their very nature are inherently conservative (with a lower-case 'c') meaning that they do not warm to change. So voting for a relatively small party like UKIP is something that a lot of people sadly will not do. It's a crying shame because their manifesto makes so much sense and they would do a fantastic job of leading the country.

  • UKIP will eventually get us out

Even if they were never to be in government

    Theyll launch a huge campaign

  • Vote UKIP, we have been sold out by Bair and Brown, how can anyone take on the responsibility to take this country into the EU superstate without our say so, it is our country, our childrens country, our forefathers died for our freedom, died for our country and it should not be signed away.Britain should rule Britain!

  • Hannan for PM!

  • NEVER The copnservatives just pretend to be eurosceptic to grab more votes David Cameron says Stay and remain integral!

UKIP Will Get us Out. This means 100% not 15% of our laws made in the UK. 40 MILLION pounds a day because that is how much membership costs.

UKIP FTW, THey CAN WIN AND SO VOTE UKIP!!

  • I do wonder what the agenda or attraction is ...a United states of Europe? I just cannot fathom why the likes of Heseltine and Ken clarke gave up the opportunity to become Prime Minister of this country. For what ? Europe ? ...someone tell me what is the attraction? ...Please.

  • @TooDarnSoulful You rule the world.

Collectivists like Blair and his ilk (fabians) Gordon and all others are crazy. They have lost all morals. Europe is their dream, unelected officials, unelected politics. You don't need support and you only need money. These people are ALL members of societies and clubs, as well as heavily influence by multiple Israeli lobbies, especially in Britain. The agenda is world governance. The anti-Christ (replacement of Christ) system... Ps. I'm not religious.

  • Mr Hannan. You're leader has proven to you that your in the wrong party!

"We will not let matters rest there" is just the Labours version of " Education, education, education" Otherwise known as a pointless load of crap to grab votes.

  • They should allow a referendum. The question should be. . .

    are you pro-Europe

    or Anti-Europe

At least they'd finally know the true sentiments of the British public AND it'd make us feel a little better FINALLY telling them what WE all really think about the EU!

    Agree - VOTE UKIP

  • UKIP need to ensure they have candidates at every polling station. They need to hit the streets and campaign,or if possible organise a massive protest about the lisbon Treaty NOW.

  • no the question should be 'do you want britain to not be a country anymore but become part of a european superstate or would you rather we remain friends and trade with our neighbours but not cease to be a nation.

  • GO UKIP...... The Tories are a bunch of traitors just like NuLiebour.

Obviously, 'the consequences' of the Tories NOT having a referendum is NOTHING.Look how Hannan pauses when asked, and he doesn't care either. But Fararge will stand by the electorate and give a referendum.

UKIP get my vote, I want my country back RIGHT NOW!

  • out the eu now OUT THE EU NOW

  • To answer your question - the sad reality is that few British politicians have any real power whilst we remain within the EU, and will have even less once this treaty is ratified.

However Hannan position looks weak! Almost as weak and pathetic as Daves! Vote UKIP!

  • These guys sound alot like Ron Paul here in the states. Being an ingnorant American I dont know much about British politics. Are people in the U.K. outraged at politicians spending them into a depression or are they like some Americans and are being good little sheep? I dont know if you have heard of the town hall meetings here but is there anything like that going on in the U.K.? What kind of political power do Hannan and Farage have? Just some questions from your colonial cousin.

  • I think many people who take an interest in politics here and care about such little things as liberty, democracy and accountability are outraged at what the political class are doing, however a large amount of people either dont care or simply dont understand the implications :(

I'm glad UKIP are putting a lot of candidates forward for the coming election, it would be glorious if they win a significant amount of seats...however unlikely

  • Yeah its kind of like Ron Paul winning the presidential race here. He got laughed off of the stage by hardcore neocons. Him winning would be fantastic but unlikely. Apparently abiding by the bill of rights and being economically sound are over rated anyways.

  • cause ron paul is a nutter thats why

  • How is Ron Paul a nutter? Only facts please.

  • cause he want's to do stupid shit like cut the military drastically and and abolish the IRS. He's a radical libertarian.

  • Youre a radical neo-con, see we can play that game too. Let me guess you are a Bush supporter? Cutting back the military isnt necessarily what Dr. Paul wants, he just wants to bring them all back, and we should abolish the IRS. So far Dr. Paul has been right about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the recession and just a whole shitload of other things where everybody else was wrong.

  • you wouldn't know a neo-con if one slapped u in the face. Ron paul didn't even get 5% of the vote for good reason

  • Yeah and how much of the vote did Bush and Obama get, and look how that worked out for us. Just because a guy isnt as well known doesnt mean he isnt the best man for the job.

  • if he was the best man for the job, perhaps he would have been able to run a better campaign.

  • Yeah, Bush ran good campaigns, and Obamas was excellent. What does that have to do with being a good president.

  • You just named two of the good things about Ron Paul, fiscal responsibility & restoration of the free market.

  • wwlll comming to a street near you soon!

  • Labour, because of this fiasco (and numerous others) are FINISHED . . . but that doesn't matter to them, as once the Lisbon Treaty comes into full force, ALL national govts will be worthless and toothless. . . and not worth having.

    The wolves are circling!

  • I think Daniel Hannan leans to the left!

  • VOTE BNP

  • oh fuck off.

    talk about desperate.

  • @ krayzeeryan

    LOL. VOTE BNP

  • The two brightest politicians in the UK.

  • Also a tax increase reduces production. The best way to get out of recessions are tax decreases(Laffer Curve) combined with slashing of government spending.

A Laffer Curve actually proves that lowering taxes creates a greater return for government. Greater revenue lets governments pay off their debts quicker. Lower taxes means higher employment/production

  • In a time when were suffering the greatest depression since the 30s. And it is a depression dont let the Orwellians tell you otherwise. The EU has decided to increase their budget and put an ever greater burden on the tax payer.

Governments are parasites and they do not produce. They do not add to the wealth of a nation but rather subract from it.

Every pound government spends means business spends one less. By increasing our tax burden they shrink production and lower our living standards

  • We should have a free trade agreement like Switzerland and Norway who pay pennies compared to our billions. Its good business/economic sense.

But instead we have a bunch of unelected parasitic buearucrats living like lords, while we serve them as surfs.

  • Good comments.

  • Thanks. I study Austrian economics, and i follow people such as Peter Schiff, Max Keiser, Marc Faber and Jim Rogers.

Our government and banking heads(central/commercial) have been 100% wrong for ages. They said our economy was sound when it wasnt, the recession would end quicker etc etc.

Unfortunately we're nowhere near out of it. You should subscribe to Peter Schiff etc. Youll learn a lot plus theyre easy to follow.

  • "Every pound government spends means business spends one less."

No it doesn't. Voluntary agents can save i.e. refrain from exchanging/utilising/consuming/destroying their property including media of exchange i.e. money. The Keynesians claim that this lowers employment and production so that thrift is worse than buying things that you don't want, so that government corporatism is needed to keep employment high if people don't want what businesses want. That is wrong. Statism is parasitical theft.

  • give it to them Nigel. I love both of these guys, fantastic politicians and orators. We need more of these men to run our countries.

  • @mrdoonbeg Ya I couldn't agree with you more.

  • "Phew"? You mean "oh shit"!
