  • is a Japanese Bobtail with a normal long tail possible? cause my cat looks a hell lot like one.. but he has a normal tail.. and I can't find anyother cat breeds that look like him...

  • If I had to guess, I'd say you probably have a calico.

  • will, hes black and white and I can't seem to find a black and white calico.

  • Ah, I had assumed you meant the markings, since your cat has a normal tail.

  • ok.. just found out that calico isint a breed, its a colour pattern :S.. anyways.. still can't find a breed that looks like him. Don't know if you know much about cats (I don't) but what breed to you think he is?

  • @jak929 yes it is possibly to have a jbt with a normal tail

  • Technically Bobtails can come in varying lengths of tails (to an extent) from very very short to a couple inches long but I've never heard of one with a normal length tail.

  • @jak929

A Japanese Bobtail has special characteristics (big, long hind legs and a bobbed tail) but the bobbed tail part is due in large part to an autosomal recessive gene. That means that if you breed a bobtail with any other breed of cat it will not show the bobtail trait; your cat might possibly be a halfing! :)

  • So cute!

  • oh my lol my lil bobtail does that too!

    they lil yoga kittens! xoxo
