how do you do this animation and what program do you use because that was sick!!!!!

You used all of those to create this.. how would you learn to actually use any of those.. would Maya alone not let you create something like this because i've got an idea for an animation.. and a sequel.. i made the first one 2 years ago in Flash but i want to step it up a little.. well, a lot and make it how i'm imagining it and i'm imagining it of this quality and it's annoying me lol

@AdventureofJenkins Yep, all that. Maya is a great tool but you can't make films with it alone. I was a graphic artist for a decade so I learned about the Adobe Suite that way, the rest I learned and I'm still learning in school. I'm about to embark on 18 month adventure with Animation Mentor where I'll learn how to do better animations. Best thing to do is go to a good school and you'll be making the same animations :) Oh, I'm also working full-time in the day in the TV industry so that helps.

@knonfil It's paid off.. to be able to make stuff of this quality is crazy and it's funny as well.. i only went college to do Media because my friend went i've liked Animation since, i could've gone Uni last year but i knew i wouldn't have made the most of it.. 4 years of college in-a-row made me feel that way but i'm going to go when it starts again and Animation shall be my choice.

Hope it's a great 18 months man because if it can get better then holy sh*t lol

@florent1337 Thanks. Used Maya 2010 (using 2011 now), Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Mental Ray, Mud Box, Shave and a Haircut and Soundbooth.

Wow, awesome work! What did you use to render it? Those materials look great. The fur too, did you just use basic maya fur?

@some1unkn0wn I had to use Mental ray ...slow. Fur was Shave and a Haircut but I used very low hair counts to speed up the render. I couldn't quite get past the flicker problem and there was little to no help on-line. The high res film shows a tiny bit of flicker but not so much here on YT.

@Styka Maya 2010. I started learning with Max and it was a bit of a pain to get used to Maya. Max has a friendlier interface.

@sovakuliana LOL and not one to be seen! I wanted to model a bird and put it in for just a few seconds so that the viewer would get the idea quicker but I just ran out of time and had to render it. Therefore, I added a few extra birds in the BG audio :) I'll be doing more soon but too busy right now.

Those graphics are pretty sucky if you ask me.

I am mildy experienced with computer graphic design and such, not bragging, but I've widdled much better 3D models with better polygamic shapes and bevels between color-oriented shading. :)

@PukeONURsELF Nice name! If you're already thinking of switching then do it. You should be able to go right from graphic design to an animation/VFX school but I would make sure you have a strong portfolio and good illustration skills first. Graphic design can be rewarding and fun but don't sit around for ten years wondering if you should get into film like I did. Also, most schools in the film industry are expensive!!
