  • great interviews bro like dam thts touching shit the greatest generation ever god bless to all the heroes in the service

  • Can you please add subtitles? It is hard to hear and understand all their stories.

  • My social studies teacher fought in the Korean war. I could tell he hates talking about the war or even pointing at the country on the map even when he says Korea or Korean he stutters.

  • @Crashbrow You should see if he'll let you interview him. It may be cathartic for someone like that to speak about it to someone who is NOT a family member but is sincere and a good listener.

  • @stonleywave I asked him once about what happened in the war. He stared me directly in the eye in a threatening way (which scared the crap out of me) and he tried to change the subject. The only information he revealed was about his platoon and some guy named Albert who I guess was a friend. He specifically told me not to join the army or anything related.

  • @Crashbrow Well, it sounds like you tried more than most to reach this guy. There have been some veteran's I've tried to interview who will not have anything to do with talking about what they experienced and we have to respect that.

Still, I often wonder if it would have helped them in some way as most of the veterans I have interviewed often comment on how much better they feel after talking about it and often state that they wish they had done so earlier in their life.

  • my grandpa fought the japs. didn't talk about it. hated japs all his life. wouldn't buy anything japanese. my dad used to ride his tricycle (just a little kid at the time) 3 miles to the train station every day to see if his dad was home from the war. I can't imagine leaving my little kids to go to war.

  • @nonfictionone No, I can't imagine that. And those who can are leaving us at the clip of ~1500/day and it looks to me like we don't seem to have anyone with the depth of character these men possessed to replace them.

    Take care.

  • my great uncle was in omaha beach, he said he couldn't stand the smell

  • Amazing, thanks for uploading. A few years ago, I visited France with some of my high school friends and we were in Normandy a few days before the anniversary. I was lucky enough to meet D-Day vets from England and the U.S. All these guys truly saved the world!

  • show some Respect for the Korean War vets

  • @67tr876 I want to visit Normandy in the VERY near future. Have fun!

  • @stonleywave I went to Normandy while on a trip to Europe about 2 years ago. My grandfather fought in WW2 in the army/air corps. He survived Normandy, but all he would ever tell my dad about it was, "I was there." Our group went to Omaha Beach, and of course now it has a lot of civilaztion on and near the beach there, but if you went down to the edge of the beach where the water starts and look toward the land, you can see and picture just how far away the bunkers were and just how far the men

  • @spartanxxx17 A trip to Normandy is high on my "to-do" list. Unfortunately, the weak dollar had forced me to postpone my travel plans...

Thanks for looking and appreciating what these guys did for us.

  • @stonleywave No problem buddy. I really hope you get to go. It is an expensive trip, however, it's worth it. Very beautiful site to see. You're welcome, I appreciate everything these men did for us. Nobody will EVER know what these men went through. It seems easy when you hear them talk about it, but their job wasn't easy at all. I'm not sure I could have done it. These men had guts and courage, and that's what our generation needs to know about these men. Thanks for posting this video!

  • @stonleywave had to run towards them. Picturing it is such a scary thought, it was un-real. It was very exciting to be there and go to the museum and cemetary outside and everything, but at the same time, it was very sad and VERY serious. NOBODY there was smiling. Nobody was laughing or making immature jokes. Everyone was real interested and serious about what they were looking at. It was very moving to see all of it. Normandy was just one of the places our group went to during the trip, but I

  • @stonleywave HIGHLY recommend going to visit there if you are serious about learning more about that historical event. It will teach quite a lot about D-Day. Hope you get to go!

  • watch band of brother, its about the 101 airborne devision easy company, there is also a sequal coming up about the war in japan that some of these veterans experienced, its called. The Pacific

  • i had many ancestors in the war. one of them lived through d-day....died a year later after the war, his brother who was an airborn died in a fire at the age of 39, on my mothers side my great grandfather died on pearl harbor......and the only veteran in my family alive who was there wen the war ended in europe, closing the gap. it is a true honor to have your grandpa...a veteran of world war 2. nowone else in the world has ever seen stuff like the veterans of world war 2......

  • My grand-father was a general in the canadian military,he went down by a nazi that ran in with a live grenade in his hand R.I.P

  • general who?

  • These men are the reason i signed up. Heros. All of them.

  • dude i feel so bad for them we owe them everything

  • the stuff these Vets are talking about is the stuff dreams are made of, or nightmares. They lived through nightmares.

  • There is nothing, and no one I respect more than a veteran. God bless all of you.

And for the ignorant who undermine their deeds, their actions, then please, do us all a favor, and stand in front of them. Because they will stand in front of you, like they always have.

  • thank you for Fighting for are freedom my grand father was a sergeant in that war he was tuff but he wasnt that tall like five feet I thank god that you people risked your lifes for us my grandpa fought in France he was in the front of the line.

  • I'm impressed that a 14 year old (based on your profile) understands and appreciates what these guys did. Don't lose your sense of history as you get older like so many other Americans do...

  • 7:09 yes, u did sir..u did your job, and thank you

  • My video edited techniques have gotten a lot better since I posted this one. I have some new interviews that I'll post soon that you may enjoy and appreciate as well.

  • awesome job!

  • hay i have to say these men are true heros and true vets. they saw things tht now no one will ever see again and i want to thank them and see them and meet them myself i also love the first mans mustache

  • The man with the cool mustache is Mooney Stall. He died a few years ago and they played the complete interview I conducted with him (> 1 hour) at his wake. His wife called me in tears saying when his family watched it they felt like he was with them again. I'll never forget that.

  • great job having the heart to interview such great people. My grandfather served in WWII and was a POW in germany for 5 months. I was in the process of having him do a video interview but then he had a severe stroke and was unable to speak. after that it was hard to get any stories from him, which really put me down in the dumps. before we had the chance to get his story on video he passed away on feb. 20th 2009. All i can say to everyone is meet these people and hear there stories while you can

  • My father was in the Battle of the Bulge, got a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He started to talk about his experiences a couple years before he died. I still have his original photos form Ohrdruff (google it). We have no idea what is was like to go from being a teen to seeing such death and destruction in just a few months, and then going back to living a "normal" life for another 50 - 60 years.

  • I just want to thank all of these men..with out them we would not be here..period.

Everytime I see a veteran wearing a ww2 hat I thank him personally and shake his hand.

  • ever see homecoming ? the best stories are from those who don't want to talk about it.. owe, as a medic the liberated death camps.. men in a tank, someone had to collect the dogtags.. If you want to contact him, it has to be suttle.. Iam not gonna let anyone torture him anymore..

  • hey if u like WWII documentaries and veteran interviews check out some of my WWII videos i have.

  • Stephen Ambrose wold be proud of your work. Keep it up!

  • I'm glad you like it. More will be on the way!

  • Great video. Ive been interviewing vets for the past year. hope to see more!

  • If you hurry you can interview a doc, medic of the 3rd arm div.. he carried a tommy, said the red cross on the helmet was a target.. he has copd,on o2 now.. still has nightmares today... oh, and they picked him for a medic the same as when I was in.. One Two Three .. Medic, 123 etc. ...

  • EXCELLENT JOB!!
