As a film studies major, I find movies with dance scenes tend to struggle with combining the two mediums; either film style interferes with the full appreciation of the dance or it is largely absent. This is absolutely the best example of dance in popular film I've ever seen... Every single shot and cut is in perfect service of the dance; the cinematic language and choreography complement and strengthen each other rather than fighting for the limelight. Stunning.

I saw this movie 3 times and I loved it! But I was shocked and stunned when she dies by falling onto the train tracks because of the red shoes.
