@dillontyler00 obsidien, you can make a portal to the nether with it, just place it 5 blocks high and 4 blocks long, and leave the middle empty, then use flint and steel to light it

@dillontyler00 what your talking about is obsidian, but it has to be a steady pool of lava, if it's just running down from somewhere or a lava fall than you will just get obsidian, but yes obsidian is the purple color? hope that helped
