Hi Chris, you can make a living out of it if you are good at what you do. It's my job for about 15 years now. Beside that I do a lot of gigs. I think you will not get very rich but who needs that if you can be happy with what you do on a daily basis. If you are really good than of course everything is possible see Bob Benedetto or PRS. @violinguitarplayer is a vintage gibson worth it more then just a loer hl 309 whats the big difference ?

@URBANLAKEMUSIC The loar is new and my 125 is very old. you can hear the difference. Just try it once and you will notice. A new guitar can be brighter and more harsh. An older one will be mellower. At least thats what I think. But I was a bit lucky with this guitar I think it sounds very good.

fantastic, I played one of these the other day that was in really rough shape but even then I liked it alot. how much did you pick this up for? I'm a les paul guy by nature but these guitars are something I would simply love to own.

@chrismortloch92 Hi I bought only the shell with no hardware on it on eBay. It was cheep. I put new frets on it and a modern pickup etc. No expensive stuff or old. I love the sound. in total not more than 1000,- incl shipment. I must tell you I do all the repairs and stuff myself. It's my job.

@violinguitarplayer interesting, I suppose Ill have to do something similar. I'm going to bryan galloups school in northern michigan so I guess Ill have the skills required for this sort of project. great playing.

@violinguitarplayer thats really cool, I'm going to school to become a luthier theres nothing I would rather do than get to work on guitars all day. if you dont mind me asking, is it really a career you can make a good living off of? thats the only thing that I'm still unsure about my choice.

@vince23r Hi thanks, I used no amp but connected the guitar directly to the TC electronic 24D soundcard.
