Do you blame the off licence or the alcoholic? To shut down off-licences may help alcoholics, but the vast majority would be pissed off. If you shut down banks, there would be an economic collapse, but it could help people who are prone to bankruptcy. The left feel obliged to blame the banks for a problem caused by the market and suburban US culture who are as selfish, uncaring and greedy as investment banker culture in the good times. If people change, the market changes, business changes.
