  • NICE SONG!!! AND PV.

  • Brings back nice memories! Thx for posting! Greetings from the Nehterlands

  • another amazing track from a vastly under rated liverpool band....thanks for posting

  • This song is beautiful . the singer was really cute-he had lively, curious eyes and an enlightning disarming smile

  • If you ever come across the 12 inch version of this song - buy it.

    Mark my words its brilliant!!

  • So totally right! It's the Charlston Mix, right? Still sitting in my collection on vinyl :))

  • Fantastic tune - the perfect follow up to First Picture. Btw I hate the term "80's music" The music in the early 80's is nothing like the music from the late 80's therefore they should not be grouped together under one heading.

  • @geoffers35 really? give me an example

  • @44eelz You're kidding right?.....Or are you suggesting that The Associates' "Party Fears Too" belongs in the same category as Kylie Minogue's "I should be so lucky"????

  • @geoffers35 thanks...ill look them up, no im just curious as to music from the 80s man, im interested in that lately, thats all.

  • @44eelz Sorry, thought you were trying to be clever. Yeah look them up, just one example of the sheer brilliance that was around in the early 80s which wasn't quite so abundant by the late 80s. Let me know if you want some more recommendations...

  • @geoffers35 yes! i Love music, write a list on my page if you can, most 80s stuff i heard im not that into, but there are definitely a handful that stick out like this...

  • brilliant performance from my brother peter,,jerry and all the band members sensational concert a band that deserves more

  • quite right.........hope they do it again soon!

  • live at The Liverpool Phil tomorrow night 25/07/09...........last chance, get yourself down there!

  • Sensational song and Peter Coyle's voice is brilliant. Brings back a lot of nice memories of the 80's. Don't know why but I love the ballerinas at 0.47. They just seem to fit.

  • dat waren de jaren........

  • Th good music is without time...

  • live at the liverpool philharmonic on 250709

  • I will do my best to cross the Pond to see them.

    ~a lifelong fan

  • i adore this song and the video is soooooo typically eighties....unrelated images that dont quite have a purpose but look wonderful!!

  • I agree with Bushkilledtowers,he most certainly did.

  • Fantastic album and band!

  • I do believe Johnny Marrs stole this guys guitar style

  • Good song from a great album by an underrated band, for me reviving memories of 1984 and long-lost love.

  • ... especially the 12" version...

  • One of my favourite Wave songs ever...

  • Bravissimi, bellissima canzone,

    quanti ricordi...

  • Questa è musica! Grande canzone e bel video, I Lotus Eaters meritavano molto più succcesso di quello che hanno avuto!

  • Such a great band! Should ahve been huge!

clintcatalyst, The Lover Speaks has a myspace, and the video to No More I Love Yous is on youtube as well. It's superb! :)

  • They 'were' The Wild Swans ;)

  • Obviously you don't know much about this band, if you compare them to JHJ. The next time, I suggest you feast your ears on their acoustic melodies and/or guitar riffs.

  • "De-rep" you where? I will respond to your point, even though I do not know what post you are referring to, unless you are/were SynchPedro. Have you ever heard "The First Picture of You"? It has no synths, and it has nothing to do with JHJ. All '80s music is the same? Really? So The Smiths make the same music as Depeche Mode? Does U2 sound like Janet Jackson? Is George Michael a recycled Van Halen or Robert Smith (The Cure)? EBTG and FGTH, alike? Your point is absurd.

  • Then don't make stupid blanket statements such as, "All '80s bands are just that: '80s bands." It took me less than a minute to make you look like a fool.

  • The bands you mention are not copies of each other. Erasure has no live drums and rarely has any guitar. What does that have in common with Talk Talk? The Lotus Eaters' TFPOY has very light piano touches in the intro and throughout, which is not the same as using synths. You must need your ears gutted if you believe that this band has something in common with Vince's. Pitch that idea to Peter Coyle. He'll have a good laugh. You obviously have not heard the rest of the band's album, either.

  • Ooops. Just remembered the track I'm thinking of was by The Lover Speaks.

Both great bands from back when I had many more brain cells than these days...

    Apologies!

  • Remember this one well, and love it... but what about "No More I Love Yous"? I remember seeing the music video ONCE when I was in Europe in '89... then many years later, the Annie Lennox cover seemed to usurp its existence entirely. Anyone out there have any recollection-- or even better, ACCESS to the video?

Many thanks for posting this one, though... <3 The memories, how they come rushing in...

  • Great song!. Holds up very well. The 12" extended mix is incredible, if you can find it. It has the most dreamy/ethereal intro ever!

  • Great Band, sad they didn't make it BIG. They penned some great tunes that still stand up today. Just scroll down todays charts to see all the covers, ripped melodies. Wish I could go back in time and really really enjoy these bands more than I did.

  • The LE were a great band but sadly they had a crap record deal and were not promoted correctly. The Album was released 11 months after the first single entered the charts-way too long!

  • Always loved this song since I was about, well, 12 years old. Just bought No Sense of Sin, was about time after more than 20 years...

  • this was a superb 80's band ,No sense of sin is a must have album, its timeless, lyrics, melodies all great, thanks for posting

  • fantastic !!!! if you ear "it hurts" you'll better understand how much they're BIG!

  • Typical 80's band, 1 mega album ( must upgrade to CD!), the FPOY and then no more...wow!!They were SO SO underated.I was a die hard New romantic, these turned up in 83 and to me,it was the perfect soundtrack of that summer, I defy anyone on you tube who does not stop and take a trip down memory lane when TPOY is played, even today, it stils sounds fresh and hold it own, great band, top tune....simply brilliant!

  • 1 block busting Album and TFPY.. Then no more, wow!! Truly 80's at its best, must upgrade to CD from vinyl.

Often called wimps, I was a die hard New romantic, these were so cool, I defy anyone brought up in the 80's from that era who does not smile when they hear FPOY, even today it reminds me of that perfect summer when music was music, still sounds so fresh even today.

  • Only recently discoveed this song, missed it back in the day and i just love it. As good as "first picture of you"

  • This is really great. One of the best songs from the 80's!!!

  • Fantastic song

  • oh! the video is superb! ('Silent Space' is very good by the way...)

  • This song is brilliant. The album "no sense of sin" is one of my favorites.

  • had their posters on my wall thought the wedge was boss

  • memory lane...great movie....great song !!!

  • this is class thanks for posting!.

  • First time seeing this video but have loved the song for ages! I still have the 12" single of this song -the "Charleston Mix" is great. Thank you sooo much!

  • Agree, the 12" of this is divine, building up to the lyrics with a sweet instrumental bit. The Lotus Eaters are the most underrated band of the '80s. "It Hurts" is another great single, though not as moving as this and FPOY.

  • The 12" single is an absolute masterpiece! I'm glad someone else knows about it.

  • Amazing song, I love it!
