  • @imacbook1407

the imac will obviously win because the ibook has a g3 core and the imac has a g4 core.

ps do you have an apple airport wireless card inside your macintoshs

  • iBook: I think I can, I think I can.....Kernel Panic.

  • you should be running 10.3 on the clam, 10.4 is to much for the poor thing

  • woooooooow that sure was slow... could have restarted my computer 3 times bofore the first one started up

  • Are you willing to sell that iMac?

  • both suck.

  • damn those are slow

  • @BuffettBobcat I was just messing around dude, don't get all uptight like mikitymike over here haha!

  • @mikitymike Dude, get over it, why do you care what computer I use, I mean, does my computer purchasing really have that big of an effect on you, a person I don't even know? Thats pathetic dude. I use PC and Mac, Mac works better for the work I do, if I worked at an office all day, i would be on PC. I think you need to calm down, comparing my preference of computers to my sexual preference is not only stupid, but makes no sense, you think your words will make me run out and buy another PC, no.

  • their both raelly slow

  • i love the 4:3 screen they have. i hate widescreen that seems to be a trend now.

  • i just got an iBook G3 in eBay!

  • OMGG. those are so old! get updated! hahah jkjk. but nice video=]

  • I had on of those iBooks, it had a 300 MHz processor and took only 3 seconds longer to boot up than my Macbook Pro 2.8 Ghz

  • thts why i didnt want a mac. those things are too damn slow.

  • Macs are way faster than Windows!!!

Its just that these macs shown on the video are very OLD.

If you compare a Mac OS X Snow Leopard computer with a Windows 7 PC which have the exact same specs, the mac will boot like 20 seconds faster than Windows!!! :P

  • so? that means optimization for closed system,so that makes your comment pointless because windows is for a much bigger collection of hardware.

Dont get me wrong,i like osx,but that arguments is not justifiable for nothing, specially to compare OS's.

  • I JUST HATE WINDOWS!!! :-P

  • Thats not true. My PC has both Mac OSX and Windows 7 on it. and Windows 7 is far faster and far more responsive.

  • I DON'T CARE

  • Im just letting you know the superiority of Windows 7. Wether you care or not is irrelevant.

Next time dont make bullshit claims.

  • Of course 7 will be nearly as responsive on generic crap hardware. Simply because Mac OS X has very limited drivers, its only got drivers for Apple Hardware. In professional testing conducted at my work (a College), we discovered that Mac OS X is actually faster by a huge margin on Apple Hardware over Windows 7. Both native, with every piece of software under-the-sun installed. Windows-painful,OS X-smooth.

Windows 7 is about as superior as a car is to a jumbo jet for transatlantic travel.

  • Generic crap hardware? My hardware is vastly superior in everyway to any Mac currently on the market, especially my graphics card. So please go back to your inferior priority hardware.

  • @ACEDcomputers u mean proprietary, I'm not a macfag, so don't get any ideas, just helpin a fellow PCfag

  • @ACEDcomputers Notice you said you PC has Mac OSX. I would expect for Windows to be faster on a PC...

  • @ACEDcomputers You do understand that osx isn't supported on pc hardware correct?

  • @TurnYourBrainOn2

Yes it is. I am running OSX on my PC at the very moment.

  • @ACEDcomputers That's not my point. My point is on order to make osx run on your computer without licensed hardware not only do you need an ilegal patch but you also need to find home-made kexts. This makes for a very piss poor computing experience.

  • @TurnYourBrainOn2

The hardware inside a mac is the same inside a PC. It is quite easy to build a rig with the EXACT same specs as a mac.

    2. The patch is NOT illegal

    3. You do NOT need kexts IF you are using apple supported hardware.

    4. Performance is equal to a mac.

  • @ACEDcomputers

I'm telling you i'm running os 10.6 and it's more snappy than my windows pc which is only 1.5 years old.

  • @TurnYourBrainOn2

\Then you have a shitty 1.5 year old pc.

  • @TurnYourBrainOn2 ACEDcomputers is actually quite right, I also have OS X on my PC, runs like a charm, even faster than my iBook :( but about the same speed as my brother's MacBook Pro :)

    Also,

you have a shitty 1.5 year old pc.

  • @ATV642 I'm not going over the specs of my old computer again.

I hope you have fun with running osx

  • Actually, the notebook is from like 2000 and iMac from 2006

  • @aqualily625 Those computers are well over 6 years old.

  • @BuffettBobcat

Of course, you're basing this on legacy hardware with obsolete versions of OS X. I mean, I could go on and say Windows is slow, but you'd rightfully object if I based my opinion on the boot time of a Pentium III with 512 MB of RAM running Windows XP SP1.

Modern Macs start up much faster, usually within 30 seconds.

Windows 7 on modern hardware also start up faster than legacy versions of Windows.

  • I like apple but windows faster

  • lol, you can't just make that statement without justifying your reason - you should at least answer the basic questions such as what hardware? What OS version? Legacy/non-legacy? How old is the computer? tisk tisk

  • These are so OLD they are out dated

  • What is "A windows"?

  • @MurphDawgProductions as in "a windows pc" stupid macfag

  • They take forever to start up! XD

its fast for a older computer

  • i need osx,my ibook has os9,i cant find flash player for it.

  • I think the G3 processor only has a 5 stage pipeline whereas the G4 on the iMac has a 7 stage pipeline plus the vector processor that's not on the G3. I think that's why the G3 made it to the boot screen first. But eventually the iMac will win because of it's clock speed. Just for the record, It's Mac OS X "mac os ten". X is the roman numeral for 10.

  • I had a Mac runnong mac OS 8

  • whats the ghz cause for some reason my macbook pro starts up way faster

  • uh dude the G models ran at maybe 600MHz to 900MHz i think

  • g3 was 233 to 600 g4 700 to 1.5ghz g5 1.6 to 1.9 ghz.

  • G3 goes up to (i think) a 1.1ghz and i think you can get a 3.0 G4....

(these are for the processors not the macs.... if you want a 1.1ghz ibook G3 your going to need to do alot of hacking :))

  • I have the exact same iBook cool.

  • That was not a fair (the iMac has a lot more RAM) Please put a 512MB RAM stick in the iBook (costs 17.25$ on ebay)and retry....

  • Wasn't the RAM for that iBook soldered onto the motherboard, instead of slots?

  • It had a ram slot, but also had built in ram.

  • I'm surprised that the ibook could boot os 4.11 that fast

I have an ibook and I am going to install os 3 I think it is

  • you mean os 10.4.11 and os 10.3?

  • can you still buy ibooks?

  • yes on ebay not from apple tho

  • Im gettin that imac for my bday in 5 days.....

  • the lap top is cool looking. I want it.i have every macbook and i book exept that one. will you sell it to me??

  • i want that iMac!!

  • You mean 512MB RAM.

  • yes 512MB ram i got confused at first

  • Sorry, I apologise. I didn't watch the point where you correct yourself.

  • np its ok

  • IMAC WON...

  • does the ibook have a dvd drive?

  • not mine but yes some do

  • why is the ibook screen so dim?

  • It is because It is not plugged in or screen is not positioned right

  • Because the iMac is brighter and the camera is not exposing equally to both, so makes the Clamshell look a lot dimmer.

  • The iMac is bright but the iBook has an acute viewing angle.
