@sweetrsyl Evidently, this was a taped broadcast performed in Helsinki, Finland on March 19, 1967. Stevie was 18yrs old at the time. SIMPLY AMAZING! There's also quite a few other great songs on here from that broadcast. Enjoy!

Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
I have the spencer davis group record of this. Great song. Steve is a true musical wizard, and he still writes good songs. I just saw him about a month ago. I feel very lucky that I got to see him. I never thought I would get to. I learned how to properly project my voice from my gut from listening to Steve's work with Blind faith, traffic and spencer davis group. he has made my life better. it has turned me onto all kinds of r&b, motown etc. his new album is killer also
This is a cover of one of BRENDA HOLLOWAY'S best Motown tunes from the 60's.
Her version, like her original "You've Made Me So Very happy" is THE killer version.
Nice try by the English guys, and yes, Stevie Winwood has a great voice but they just don't cut it on this. Sounds like The Young Rascals. Not that that is a bad thing mind you! Always loved The Rascals.
A young Stevie showing off his great blues feel and phrasing as a vocalist & hammond organ/keyboard player on this beautiful song. He is also a masterful guitarist and songwriter, and he has done so much to influence my own playing over the years. Thank you for this video clip - Fabulous.

such a mature musician for his age, simple but great organ solo-the song is a bit reminiscent of 'Whiter Shade of Pale' -same year as well

Meant Steve WInwoods voice is so soulful apologies

you looked it up at wikipedia, right? :)

...excellent version.
No doubt Al Koopers "Super Session Live" copied this
version nearly note-for-note.
I'll have to give Kooper credit; his organ solo was better than SW's...

I've been a big fan of Spencer Davis Group since I heard, "I'm a Man" on one of my older brother's records.
This song is so incredibly beautiful. Never heard it before.

I love the Rascals as well.
This kind of rock/blues.. "white soul" is one of my favorite genres. You don't hear it very often done well.
A local Chicago group of the mid 60's that I wish got more play was The Mauds with Jimmy Rogers. Their album, Hold On is one of my favorites.

I was so desparate for cash! I had this on DVD and had to sell it. Thank god for the internet!

Just so wonderful! We all love your voice Steve! One of the best singers in the world! He is only 16 years old here.
The organ tone here is so raw! Thank-you for posting this tune. One of the great songs of the early Steve Winwood years!
barrelhousechuck 3 years ago
Since Winwood was born in 1948 and this was recorded in 1967, he has to be 18 or 19 here.
