Revelations made me cry (Altair's passing was so emotional, I'd gotten so attached to his character)...Embers, I can't even think about it without tearing up.

The main story might be degenerating in Assassin's Creed (continuity errors and some people arguing logical feasibility lacking), but you have to admit, character development and emotions simply aren't done as well anywhere else.

@Giggitgator Well to be honest I don't think anybody understands it 100% completely but if you have seen the Abstergo secret information which you unlock in multiplayer (takes too long to unlock, it's on youtube though) then you will learn that Daniel Cross (subject 4) is after to kill Desmond's dad (Bill or William) who is the current Assassin mentor. The 'end of the world' is the beginning for Abstergo on 21 December 2012. The Ones Who Came Before have sent Desmond to stop this.

The last video you saw of the world before this one ending is basically what the 'Ones Who Became Before' (the greek god type people) are trying to stop. Abstergo think it's a new beginning for humanity but they will find a horrible truth that the world will again be destroyed. Desmond has the blood from Eve (the woman holding the baby) and from Altair and Ezio, he must fight for all mankind.

The idea is like battlefield etc. they have games with numbers like batllefield 1(1942) 2 and 3 but they have games like bad company and 2142 to have a game released in between so that the actual series can be worked on and released later on so its a good game and the filler game just makes sure fans are happy and the series is not forgotten

Every time a new game is named numerically it has a new ancestor, so look at brotherhood as 2.1 and revelations as 2.2. The next game will be 3, probably mainly about desmond but maybe even dive into many ancestors, or perhaps other assassins ancestors, including Lucy if she is brought back from the dead somehow.
