  • I hate the poms as much as any other Aussie, but that's just smart keeping. Well played.

  • why cheating?

looked ok to me and the umpire and the commentators and the rest of the planet

  • not cheating at all whoever posted this video has no idea about cricket

  • Just shame on bloody English dogs!! Eat shit u bastards!

  • Beautifully done.

  • thats not cheating at all the ball isnt dead until it leaves the keepers hands back to bowler its still in play that was smart descision making

  • Not cheating, just smart keeping

  • There is no cheating. This is just a normal play, just that Alec Stewart had to wait for him to go onto/over the line. Heads up cricket and good awareness.

  • Why is the camera not directly in line with the crease? The depth perception means we can't see where the foot actually is.

  • @ConfusedPingu I totally agree, but on the evidence given I still would say Lara has not left his ground, looks to me like his toe is still cutting the faded white line. What happened to benefit of the doubt also favoring the batsman? Poor call by the 3rd ump here and WI robbed of a crucial wicket of Lara. You see Stewart whip the bails when he sees Lara starting to shift his weight backwards and hope for a dodgy call.Perhaps he was already aware that the 3rd umpire was angled and exploited this

  • @yottskry12 i don't care its a DIRTY POM. mate he is a cheat. how long did that stumping take. as far as i am concerned it took to long to stump him and i say what i want on this service. i hate india, sri lanka and pakistan teams. Also the POMS and Stewart the Dirty Pom who doesn't know where the soap is?

  • CHEAT POM. Mate how long was that delayed reaction.

  • @davo63004 How is it cheating? The line belongs to the umpire and Alec Stewart waited for his toe to be on it before whipping the bails off. Not only is it not cheating, it's not even gamesmanship - it's totally, perfectly legal.

  • Not cheating, just fucking smart

  • not cheating but thats not positive cricket.

  • That's not cheating that's just clever cricket.

  • all ill say to the indian fans at the moment is.......4/659

  • @NorfBoy24 Well player :)

  • @TheAussietank played*

  • @TheAussietank Davey Warner! God I'm loving this summer. And now they're losing their media are sooking and complaining again. This sounds familiar...

  • No, not Alec Stewart cheating. Clever wicket keeping.

  • first cricket video to have decent quality

  • @sleepwithoneyeop3n Whaaat?

  • that is out. plain and simple. if lara kept his foot in his crease it would have been fine. he did not, therefore it is out! good video, and a masterclass from Stewart out there teaching batters tough lessons about carelessness. to be angry that he has been given is to be angry at cricket itself.

  • Although the umpire can give it out if he thought the ball was NOT dead, clearly the ball had settled in the wicket keepers gloves and therefore is regarded as an automatic dead ball and should NOT be given out. I mean what umpire would consider the ball to still be alive?

  • That´s not cheating.... I quote "He´s out, and rightly so" It´s clever..

  • The real crime here is the awful cap Stewart is wearing.

  • Terrific keeping is all that was

  • Anyway you could get Lara out, was a good way. One of the all time greats.

  • how is this a cheating?

    cleaver

  • @usmanfasih

This is a stretch of the spirit of the game if not the rules. Can't be run out (he wasn't attempting a run) and Lara clearly had completed his stroke and batting action. I put this down to poor umpiring (I hate having more than two umpires) and a worse appeal... but any wicket is a good wicket; doubly so for Lara.

  • Well. rules are rules

  • its not cheating...

  • That's called smart stumping dumbass..

  • I am an umpire and there is nothing wrong with that. It is not 'cheating' as you put it at all. I would go so far as to say it was very clever on the stumpers part. Lara was outfoxed, Lara is out, it isn't controversial, it is out. Simple

  • really "patience is a virtue"

  • This entire series was fixed.

  • If that is "cheating", why even have a wicket keeper on the field? That is exactly what he's there to do.

  • indians wouldn't know a cheat if one smacked them in the head

  • That was just top class keeping. If you think that's cheating, you probably don't know too much about cricket.

  • Ok India boys, answer me this. This vid concerns WI and Eng. If you Indian fanboys are not trolls, why have you made a war in this comments section? This video does not concern you or your precious team, so why cause your usual trouble here?

  • It's not dirty, it's very, very smart wicketkeeping

  • Why are we discussing the monkey call? Andrew Symonds is WORSE than a monkey. He is an alcoholic who turns his back on his team mates. He doesnt face the resposibility of manhood and professional life. FUCK ANDREW SYMONDS.

As for Alec Stewart..... this isnt all that bad. It's a BIT dirty. Not really though.

  • Should be dead ball if he's just gonna stand there doing nothing

  • If a batsman wants to play with fire and bat that far out of the crease with the keeper standing up, sometimes youre going to get burnt.

  • obviously a west indies fan made this, clearly not 'cheating'

  • isn't on the line - not out ?

  • @kvps27 the line is out lol..he even said it on the video..

  • I dnt see y everyone is blaming Indians of having double standards. coz seriously everyone has double standards. When I c a vid whr an aussie is claiming a dropd catch, then aussie defend that saying it was clean. Here English a defending Stewart for the stumping(whch I hav said is fair) but will boo Indian team on running out Bell for doing a similar thing when he dint wait for the ball to be declared dead and lunch called. Every1 has double standards, stop blaming others.

  • I dont know how this is called cheating. It is just intelligent cricket.

  • thats not cheating, but not even sportsmanship

  • Cheating? Did an Indian upload this vid?

  • @The61616112 Surely not. ;)

Truth is, if the keeper had been Indian, this video would be titled 'best stumping in the world ever of all time.'

  • Indians actually look for anything to create contreversy. Not saying they are but just in general...

  • Ball was dead.....how long can a wicket keeper keep the ball in their hand? The ball was DEAD! Umpires got it wrong, they determine when a ball is dead!

  • this is called being slick.

  • It's not cheating, what he has done was according to the spirits of the game

  • I must agree with everyone else, how in anyway is this cheating? All he's done is stumped the batsman. If it's cheating to get people out, then cheating is rife in cricket all the time!

  • @TheAaronChamberlain It is only cheating in the eyes of the poster of the vid because the keeper is not Indian.

  • It wasnt cheating, if it had been, he'd have got in trouble, lara wouldnt have been given.

  • cheating? lol dont be mad cause hes smart

  • Carlton Baugh did something similar a few days ago. Great awareness here

  • WTF is wrong with what Alec did? The guy who posted this video lost his rule book perhaps .. or just gained the attitude to disparage talent. Being an Indian and reading the comments below i must say that some of us do go overboard when it comes to accepting reality. Come on guys.. grow up..

  • bit of innovation when you need to best batter in cricket out. :L

  • How can u call this cheating??

  • you're a dumbass

    that is not cheating

that is smart cricket from Stewart

  • @NorfBoy24 ..see here we don't have a sportmanship

u sound lyk a racist...bttr luk @ english cricket team,u wil find many black players

  • @sourav1288 How does he sound like a racist? All he did was point out Indians play the race card at any given opportunity, yet are probably the most overtly racist nation themselves!

  • @lazaglider: bhai badam khao, aaram se match dekho

yeh sab racism se kya lena hai... ;) :)

  • @sourav1288 If you have a valid point to make, can you make it in the language the converation is being conducted in?

Otherwise, one can only assume you have no argument and are trying to be clever by making insulting comments in a language you know the majority of participants will not understand :)

  • @NorfBoy24 Get your facts right ! Not a black and not called "Monkey"

  • @NorfBoy24 who cares what u think u friggin moron

  • @NorfBoy24 - I do oppose Indians' calling others cheat. That said, you're the biggest dumbass to say that India called (I'm not sure how a country says something) him monkey. The word was "maa-ki", which is part of the Hindi vernacular. Although, the word has a vulgar literal meaning, the connotation it carries is nothing different from "mofo" in the American slang. Grow up and educate yourself adequately before blaming others.

  • @NorfBoy24 Good man.

  • @NorfBoy24 hmmm, well Symonds was not called a money bcoz he is black, it is bcoz he applied white sun block on his mouth region that gave the look of a monkey, whose mouth region is diff frm d rest of his face. And as it is seeing the condition the native Australians live in I dont think you should make such a comment. n dont for a moment think that aussie players mite have not passed racial comments in d form of sledging. n d spectators in aus also shout racial comments when India plays.

  • @NorfBoy24 The Indians a the biggest wind bags in cricket and they always have been. In the 70's the sooked the west indians were ruining cricket and surrendered a Test match.

  • @frenda1980 Fuck off Aussie. The biggest know-it-alls and cheats in world cricket.

  • @panniize now there's the pot calling the kettle black, this is coming from the same country who has used its position from within the ICC to intentionally destroy several umpires careers because they made call that the BCCI was not happy with also do the names Azharuddin, Sharma, Prabhakar and Jadeja mean anything, the word hypocrite leaps to mind.

  • @irishgodfatherchris What do the alleged fixers have to do with this ? Lol. When the ICC was the Imperial Cricket Council and the Englishmen used to rule the roost, it was 'OK' but now the browns are in power and it suddenly is all about 'bullying' ? Englishmen can't digest the fact that the nation they used to rule is now kicking their ass cricketwise and economywise. Its money that talks son, the India is a big market for cricket and hence they have power, end of. Hypocrites.

  • @panniize these guys were convicted, you were accusing everyone else of cheating and I'm merely showing you India is not immune to it either, I never said any of those words. India is the big market but to use that power to destroy people's careers for no reason is disgraceful.

  • @irishgodfatherchris They were not. Azharuddin was not, neither was Jadeja.

  • @panniize the ICC should've dealt with them, this was not a matter for the BCCI, their convictions were overturned in Azharuddin's case because they thought his penalty was too harsh but he confessed to match-fixing remember that, but like I said the BCCI as powerful as they are should never abuse that power as they have on many occasions, Azharuddin seeing as how he's an MP now should ask of a Parliamentary inquiry into the dealings of the BCCI including corruption and abuse of power,

  • @irishgodfatherchris

Australia and England ruled the cricket with the help of umpires. Shame on both the teams and ICC for abusing the power. But when browns started doing the same you all have an issue. Typical cracker shit

  • @TheEuphony69 uh huh and the fact that in the context of cricket Australia doing well is a very recent thing, remember the 70's, 80's early 90's the team to beat was the West Indies.

  • @NorfBoy24 ha ha fucking idiot. Pull up the ONE case that even exists and try and make it sound like there are so many..typical englishman/aussies.

  • @NorfBoy24 his name was Andrew Symonds!

  • @NorfBoy24

whats wrong when one monkey(Harbhajan) calling on the other one (Andrew symonds) !!!!!

  • @NorfBoy24 : I dont see how one can take offense to it, since it's coming from a country which worships a God in the form of a monkey (Anjaneya). The term monkey in India is not used as a racial slur rather it is used to refer to a person who is immature and acts silly. Hope you get it, its just educational and please don't take any offense to this.

  • @NorfBoy24 OK, agreed this is not cheating Mr Australian. Can you please tell me what this is - watch?v=vxNrs_yhANI

  • @NorfBoy24 - u fucking son of a bitch, he didnt call that bastard 'monkey' he said 'maa ki ...'

  • @rautrohit no he didnt he said monkey. look at all comments on youtube by stupid indians calling aussies monkeys...

  • That's not cheating!

  • Looking at the replay, deffintely looked like he was behind the line

  • @DeanWhipper Alec was waiting, Brian was out of his crease, the real question is was the ball dead when Stewart dislodged the bails

  • Not cheating. It's up to the batsman to to stay in his crease until the ball is dead

  • Thats just good keeping, not cheating. Lost of concentration by Lara; I expect he'd done it on a previous ball because Stewart was expecting it.

  • Not cheating at all just good keeping

  • @bagel1986 not good keeping.............smart keeping.

  • 1st series at sharjah under lights.

  • it wasn't CHEATING DUMP

  • I don think this was cheating at all.. great wicketkeeping i wud call it :)))

  • @jbclaret1983....god gift yeah....suck it up...!!!as if in history ua fkn england team ws never WW'd....!!!loosing is nt bad....bt nt xceptin it is...like u mf's!!!

  • @pratap198 Could you re-write that in english please. Thankyou :)

  • Sorry can someone ask me how this is cheating; this is just sharp; observant cricket... on the other hand you snooze you loose

  • Brilliant. Good cricketing mind on that keeper.

  • abslutelty right jbcleret

  • That England kit is horrible!

  • how is this cheating???

  • fuck indians

  • @jbclaret1983 how is alex stewart cheatin or not linked with india lossing 4-0???? wtf man??? and lets see whos bttr....u tourin india next month...after tht u cmmnt smthin lyk tht!!

  • I'm an umpire and there is nothing wrong with that at all- its out- simple

  • nothing wrong with what stewart did whatsoever.

  • i would say thats within the spirit - laras momentum took him forward- theres no obligation to do anything immediately

  • This is not cheating but he is genious at moment... he waited for him to drag that foot, its legal and under the laws

  • How is this cheating? Lara left the crease.. poor cricket on his part..

  • I love the fact Brian is using a CA bat !!

  • Technically it's out but there is such a thing in this beautiful gentleman's game called the spirit of cricket...Brian Lara like all West Indians took it extemely graciously. Dirty English cheats strike again!

  • @maxlogica Dirty English Cheats??? Looks to me like Lara left his crease and was stumped...

  • @maxlogica dirty enlgish cheats? it was completley legal, it is laras obligation to make sure that until the ball is dead he doesnt leave the crease, it was lara who made the mistake, not english cheating

  • Not cheating. Clearly remember that game and the tournament.

  • this is no where cheating................it was good work by stewart

  • Is this cheating by Stewart or a poor lapse by Lara? I think the latter.

  • Alex Stewart dit NOT cheat in fact it was a great peice of wicketkeeping you Indians think your Gods Gift when it comes to Cricket well i dissagree whos just destroyed you 4-0 in ur most recent test series England we are Number 1 your not and Alex Stewart is no cheat deal with it!

  • @jbclaret1983 let see how long you will be no.1 .. england wet trac bullies.. come to india to play 4 test we will show u who will become no.1 after that haha.. see in oddi series in india ..ur ass getting whaced by indian B team

  • @jbclaret1983 : ur pathetic team got raped now bitch, 3-0 and counting

  • this is cheating in the spirit of the game not the rules :)

  • thats not cheating thats awesome stumping

  • Bullshit this is cheating! It's called being aware of the situation.

  • this is NOT cheating, the laws of the game state that the ball is not dead until the unpires either declare it, the ball is back with the bowler for the next ball, or a boundary etc. As much as I love Lara, he was a little careless here.

  • Why dose the title say cheating? there is nothing cheating about what he did ... it's just smart cricket

  • this is more then cheating

  • Not even close to cheating, batsmen just left his crease during his shot.

  • whether or not it was cheating.....its was very un-sportman like

  • I Hate Alec Stewart.....

  • sometimes clever can be viewed as cheating

    was clever stewart Very aware

  • 0:22 Alec Stewart is NOT cheating @kapurprem !

  • thats the equivalent of waiting. so all these times i so batsmen play out the over and run down the pitch right after the keeper collects, why arent they stumped?

  • @CRKT4EVA

ENGLAND WON ALL ITS MATCHES IN THIS SERIES

  • I never knew about this 1997/98 Akai-Singer Champions Trophy series until this video, so that's what England Cricket were doing during late '97, & we won the final!

  • Did exactly the same thing last Sunday..... The batsman rocked backwards and then as he rocked forward his foot came off the ground and I, already having my hand next to the stumps, whipped the bails off and appealed....... And the batsman was given out by his own umpire!!! Not cheating, pure genius in my eyes!!

  • Alec Stewart cheating ???

No, not even close. Excellent awareness from Stewart, lax awareness from Lara.

  • @mymentor Exactly right, its just good patience and judgment

  • @CoolStoryBrosauce

i post these clips coz most of the other stuff is usually there on Rob's channel

Indian cricketers are mostly regarded as clean and are role models..unless of course you think like Mike Deness

  • @kapurprem I remember this quadrangular series. England won in Adam Hollioake's captaincy. There was a match where Sachin scored a 90 and he got stumped by Stewart. If you have the video of that 90, please upload.

  • thats not cheating, thats being clever.. smart piece of keeping that...

  • Clever stumping and dozy batting.

Funny kapur, you always post stuff to do with people supposedly cheating, yet none of it contains any accusations of INDIANS cheating.

Is that just because India are such a sparkly clean cricketing nation who would never ever ever dream of cheating?

  • @CoolStoryBrosauce Isn't the answer to your question self-explanatory? Which Indian would come up with videos that show their countrymen in poor light? Having said that, our cricketers have mostly remained clean barring a few notorious exceptions.

  • it is not cheating. smart keeping there by stewart.

  • That is not cheating. Smart stumping I would say
