Iv been workin my ass off 2 get an original 62 strat bt everytime i make progress something comes up an i have 2 spend money.....bt im not givin up ima keep trying till i die =)
To me this feels like I'm watching HD porn, I played on a '62 once and the rest of my life has never been the same. I don't want to see this ever again :'-(
I really like vintage instruments and own a number of pieces myself. For instance, my 59' GIbson has divits on all of the frets and has so much neck wear proportional to the wear and patina of the guitar. It is in better condition than this strat but I don't see the fret wear. Have the frets been replaced or ???
Everyone's commenting about the guitar. It is great but do not overlook the amp being used - a vintage Traynor YGM3. Traynor's reissue of this amp is unfortunately overlooked since it is arguably one of the most genuine reissues made today. Great guitar + great amp + great playing = great tone, simple recipe actually.
@itsonlyrcknroll I agree, Traynor is a great company. One of the most underrated amplifiers around.I think alot of people actually mistaken "Traynor" for "Trainer" & automatically infer that it's a beginner brand. I'm just saying this because when I was at a guitar shop with one of my cousins, I told him to check out one of the Traynor amps & he told me that it was a Trainer amp for beginners! I was laughin, I guess he couldn't READ! Then the shop owner told him that it wasn't & he felt dumb XD
Hey, do you do custom orders? Have you got a website? (couldn't find one google 'ing) I'm interrested in buying a '63 repro strat and I'd like to get in touch..
Just like Andy Summer's guitar. I think his is a 1961 as well. On the reunion tour that I went to he was playing the red Strat exclusively. I don't recall him playing his Telecaster. Strange because during the original days of The Police he played the Tele most the time and now that he has a Tele tribute guitar he is playing the Strat. Shows you which guitar he favors. I like his tone with the Strat better too.
Sounds great.... Looks a total mess!!!
