But it gets me mad listening to you. You could have done this tutorial in less than 30 Min just by speeding up your talking. But you like to hear yourself talking, arent you? ;-)
i recently downloaded an add on .. and tried working with the fmc.. i have a couple of questions: how do i hold the altitude and engage the auto pilot .. i struggled ! and the whole sector which i flew was vectored by the atc! could u kindly lemme know on how to tackle the minor problem ? thanks
@devashishvayeda He was performing an autoland 7:23, and selected the second autopilot to arm the autoland. Earlier in (part 7) he had tuned both NAV radios required also for the autoland. You must do this before 1500 AGL because that is where the autoland switches over and takes control and the plane lands itself.
You cant with the built in ATC but there is an addon called Radar Contact v4 that will let you do Termianal arrival and departure procedures. It will still guide you on your route and vector you if you wish. Ive been using it for a long time now and would not fly without it. IT also tells you how well (or badly) you flew at the end of the flightplan hehe.
Minor quibble - At 3:11 you say that there's no altitude restriction for HAWKO, but it's down below the glideslope line (at or above 5000).
And technically, the altitude restrictions are for a localizer-only approach, if you're flying the ILS you don't need them (the glideslope provides its own altitude guidance).
Hi I have a quick question......When I program the ILS approach runway into the computer how do you make it where it turns into the glidescope smoothly between your chips and pokrr. In my fmc it would go directly to pokrr and have to make a sharp turn and I would be way off the mark when I am lining up with the runway. Hopefully that made sense. Thanks
before you actually activated the 2nd autopliot, the APP light actually went out. Is that normal? And is the APP light not supposed to be on when the 2nd autoplilot is activated? Thanks
...LOL Yeah man because I did it in sections and some parts I had to do over because it sounded like crap so 4 hours into it I really just wanted to get it done sine I lost all passion and wanted to go to bed
Some things i don't understand. How do you know when you have to kick in the VOR LOC? you have to kick in the VOR LOC just after the localizer has came alive? But when do you have to kick in the APP HOLD??? Kind Regardz;-)
You dont have to kick it in at all if you want to make the turn into the localizer yourself. Howver if you want the aircraft to make the turn and lign itself up you can kick it in anytime.. One your on the localizer and established kick in the APP HOLD and the AP will take it from there
your tutorial is very good but i do not have the 737 ihave the 747 so when i was following you there were some difference very small but on my way to the flight i could not get the approach and the plane was on vnav and a/p and it wuld not follow the speed and the descent so the rest of the flight i did it manually i was close to klas anyway but ireally like your tut very much in detail better than the pmdg instruction they are quite confusing maybe i am stupid who knows:)
OK, thank you for the answer. But, there is one more thing. Why dont you make a new tutorial about how to set the "orbits" in the FMC? I know that i do that on the "hold" mode in the FMC, but i don't know how to perform it... Thanks again for your attention...
YOu dont have to its just standard procedure so that if one fails the other one takes over. Its a safety issue if you will. You can do it with one if you wish.
normal flap setting for he 737 is 30 especially with long rwys like that one... swa SOP is 30 for anything longer than about 6500 or so and 40 for small rwys like 6500 at MDW or ISP
Thank you, great tutorial

YOur not stupid its just the difference from one aircraft to the other. The FMC on the 747 and the 737 while alike has quite a bit of differences.
