While openlimping QQ at a table that'll usually go 3-4 way to the flop if raised really is bad, check/raising that kind of board against Daniel is absolutely correct cause he'll call with any draw/never fold a king/gets in his combo draws some of the time. The fact that it looks weaker which is true won't do much against Daniel due to him doing most stuff based on "lol I have equity". He actually surprised me by stating that running it twice just reduces variance btw. His 1st smart thing at HSP.

That was not "masterly play" by Mattusaw whatsoever. If he leads flop, he should just bet, bet, bet. Otherwise he should just c/c flop, turn and c/jam river. c/c turn after leading flop is only good if he thinks Alaei floats the flop wide to bluff most turns. And c/r (as suggested by Gabe) is horrible, as you fold out anything but KK/33/Q3s(lol) and maybe Qx stuff that rly shud fold. He'll not get calls from combodraws by anyone with half a brain on a paired board taking that line.

@mikemartin83 Don't like the limp pre but raising the cbet daniel is firing a very large percentage of the time has potential to make daniel spew, get action from a king, and no draw is going out. I liked the play.

@KennethNM Ur missing the point, Laak is thinking on a higher level than u. Daniel would expect Laak to call the flop bet in position with 3 Q's, Laak's raise is designed to convince Daniel that he has a heavy flush draw (maybe a10 h) and is trying to buy the pot there.

Pros raise their heavy draws on flops (whereas most amateurs call their draws),so this raise could easily be heart draw or j10. If Daniel put Laak on this range, he would see a turn with kings up or a high heart draw himself.
