  • I like how everyone ignores the stop lights too. The lights all work too but they put a cop out there anyway as a refereee.

  • @lawnsausages No, no cops. No stop lights or stop signs. Well... there is one stop light in Cairo but it only works for the holidays.

  • @bittenbyazebra I was there last year there weren't many but they had stop lights.

  • @lawnsausages They added another two or three to the city? LOL.

  • once u get used to it

    it wont be that bad

  • @longliveegypt1 It's actually kind of fun. Playing real-life "Frogger" is much more fun than visiting the Egyptian Museum (although the King Tut stuff is pretty amazing!)....

  • Pendejos!!

  • we are professional

  • that would not work in montreal u get crushed in minute

  • This is totally exactly what it's like in Cairo. No joke

  • There should be a game made from this lol. Cross the street without getting hit lol. Or drive without hitting someone! lOl. Crossing Cairo streets. Almost got hit once... What a scnece my Egyptian friend made yelling at the driver, then the driver actually stopped lol. OMG. embarrassing. Everything stopped in that moment. The problem was me being a mediocre crosser. LOl. lol.

  • @PoeticAuthority It actually could be a very fun video game. Frogger started it, maybe the game "Cairo Traffic" would be a hit on the Wii!

  • Real Life Frogger!

  • HAHAHAHHAHA!

You have to walk like you own the place!

Over here in Egypt, I think nobody stops for you! xD

  • medan el taheer :D

  • This is like frogger

  • we were there before and we had the same experience, I remember my colleague ask the police if the traffic will stop coz she wants to cross the street, and he replied "No" it will NOT, crossing the streets of Cairo is a crazy task.

  • imagine that people do that eveeeryy day!!!

  • suicide?

  • I wonder why they call it Zebra marking anyhow!..Egyptians don't know zebra anyhow, they should of call it normal donkey marking, and Egyptian will yet ignore it anyhow!..thats fact what you see and never has got to change!

  • they ignore the zebra crossing! why they paint it when nobody pays attention!

  • hahahahahahah thats our sport

  • only egyptians can cross .. its somehing like a talent :))

  • No way, I will never cross the street! Too scary!

  • @kare52556 if u come 2 egypt give me call i will tell u what to do

  • Traffic lights would not be bad idea...

  • @marii1503 They certainly would come in handy around Christmas to add a little festive color to the streets...

  • @bittenbyazebra hahaha..ty for reply..planing to visit friend there, traffic jam is everywhere the same :D

  • Comment removed

  • @bittenbyazebra 0:02 is that a police officer crossing the street ?? LMFAO hes setting a good example for the pedestrians :P

  • @marii1503 When I was in Cairo, I saw some traffic lights at an intersection. Were they in function? Of course not! Therefore I heard a symphony of horns.

  • @marii1503 They Wouldn't Stop For Them Anyway!! XD

  • @marii1503 those don't like a traffic lights or anything, i went in egypt and those told me

  • @TheGravityFilms i was talking to my friend from Cairo few days ago..and complaining that in center is traffic jam and i will be late for work...hahah he just laught...dear Marii..u didnt see real traffic jam! in a sec, this vid cross my mind :D

  • its like a russian roulette lol, egyptian roulette traffic style

  • its like a fucking challenge to cross the street

  • @aresgodofwar10 It's actually kind of fun believe it or not. You get used to it -- even if you are only there for a weekend!

  • @bittenbyazebra You do get use to it even just after a day or so. I found Friday mornings the best time to avoid traffic and a taxi driver even stopped to let me cross the road once. Cairo is amasing!

  • @aresgodofwar10 you're right they totally ignore the zebra corssing!

i wonder why they paint it !

  • Haha. The only reason why there aren't many accidents is because the cars are never going fast enough to get into an accident and/or hurt a civilian! Funny huh?

  • yanhar fadaie7 ... yala msh fara

  • you have to take you're decision in less than 1 second or you will be dead.....lol

  • it's funny how the cars get mad at you because you're in their way..

and alexandria is in egypt so they're not exactly different places..and they still honk. that hasn't stopped them lol

  • ah wahastini ya masr

  • wana kaman

  • inti / inta raischa fehn ???

  • HAHA It Is like frogger. Going back to cairo in 4 weeks :)

  • It is the same in Algeria...

  • you got to be egyptian to cross over the roads like thath lol

  • haha true

  • Am an Egyptian and it's actually fun to cross the road through cars, and also the traffic in Egypt is teribble

  • I was astonished when i had seen it myself, it must be a nightmare to drive in that city

  • there are accidents regularly ....

  • im from egypt and believe me there is not much accidents in cairo...i live in NYC now and i see much more accidents here then in egypt

i am american deeply in love with an EGYPTIAN!!

    ana b7abk ketter keeter , enty 7abibi.

    keemo ana Yibis!!!

  • Our five years children here in cairo can cross this alone ,they r playing a game of crossing streets here in cairo ,this game made out of 2 groups and they start crossing street the group of more survivors wins

u know it said if u can drive in cairo u can drive anywhere ,and if u can cross street in cairo u r very lucky man

u know man um a trauma and orthopedics surgeon and i`ve been suffering and suffering of street crossers and they always blame the blind mtf driver

  • With my brother we used to rate streets from 1 to 5 stars, according to its difficulty to cross it. I'd say this was a 3 star street. (5 is almost sure death)

  • As long as the car horn works the vehicle is fit for the roads. I am used to driving all over Europe but this place neat them all. Took 2 hours to drive 6 miles from the pyramids to our hotel.

  • hahahahaahaa,yes i'm egyptian and i admit,there is no laws at all

  • i broken my leg trying to cross the streeth in cairo... is the worst could happend

  • Cairo traffic is a joke. I'm used to drive in big cities but Cairo was a nightmare!! There's one rule: Me first and me again etc. people have no respect for each other, traffic signs are there for the camels!! This explains why so much is so f.... up in Egypt.

  • Sadly this is so true.

  • Fantastic video. I was there 2 years ago and... Is a crazy town!! A fren of mine have had an accident in a taxi (not big accident) but when you are in El Cairo street you never know what can happens.

  • the more relaxed and cocky you are the easier it is.crossing the road was probably the best fun i had in egypt!

  • I agree! You have to be confident - in fact we ended up with the locals following us across the roads!!!!

  • @aonghusm hahahah i've never known any person did enjoy crossing streets in Egypt

  • I just returned from Egypt yesterday, and I witnessed this first hand! It was so frightening to walk across the street the first day, but then... you kind of get used to it and become a bit brave.

  • Exactly my reaction the first time I was in Cairo. Terrifying. I stood on a corner for a half hour afraid to venture out.

  • OMG! I'm surprised that ppl don't speed up on purpose to hit someone. = i

  • You'd probably have to travel to Moscow to witness that! For a crowded crowded city, the drivers are rather polite.

  • @imagoodyear why would they kill someone ? lol

  • In Egypt, run or die.

  • wot a perfect explanation

  • I agree 100 %. I have had a lot of close calls in Cairo especaially near Ramses Square.

  • lol - wish to do here in Germany :)
