I've wondered too about "Fascination" and other songs being half music and singing (is15310. Is it still part of the culture of "going down the Palais" where there was a chanteuse(is that spelled right?) fronting the dance band, or was it the limited play time on a 78 or the new 45 r.p.m. records. Or perhaps a combination of both?
I think that double martiny has had two doubles too many! Dalida is singing a Eurovision pop song, whereas Jane produces a romantic ballad. The voices are different too. Dalida seems favour the upper registers and Jane is coloratura contralto. The warmth in Janes voice is more obvious when you hear the song on c.d., and before anyone says it's not been released in this format, i've got it on an M.F.P. compilation album.
I thought Jane and JP had great voices. It's very strange that a song so short as "Fascination" that Jane only sang half of the song. That is so weird. The ist half of the song was instrumental.
Though this song was written from a male perspective I think Dalida's is the most romantic I have heard of all the versions of this song. This lady is a very clear singer but I don't think she gives it the warmth, tenderness or passion of other singers.
Top talent this,in my opinion it has to be there from birth,i remember listening to jane sing this in the late 50s on my dads record player,(no CDs then) check out Tony Dallara singing this live, another top singer from this era.
Romántica Jane Morgan, Romántica la canción y Romántica el título de la canción. La voz de esta chica rubia y adorable es sencillamente espectacular. Cualquier oido humano se deleita con su voz..
One of my three favorite female pop vocalists, the other two being Jo Stafford and Joni James---the three "J"s.--Jo, Joni, and Jane--.Now if someone would only post Jane's rare and beautiful song, "C'est La Vie, C'est L'Amour"......Somebody, please?
Such a nice song from a great, but under-rated, singer. Her voice was so clear and so romantic. Fascination is probably her best, although everything she sang was great. Thanks for posting.
I've loved this song since I was 8 years old. I'm 64 now I still love this song
