JW's believe in the Bible. Charles Russel actually wanted to know what the Bible taught. JW's have come out with NUMEROUS dvd's about the origins of the religion. There is no fear about learning where the religion came from. We follow what the Bible teaches and live by the best we can. Why is that so hard to understand.

Rutherford predicted the resurrection of the Old Testament saints, and even bought a mansion in San Diego for them. He later moved into it himself. THe only date i'm familiar with is 1975 and around that time period when most of the advent movements were occuring. Virtually every sect outside of Catholicism were setting dates thinking that Christ return was literal. They were babies on the scene of religion. The point was, they had freed themselves from the chains of Catholicism. Give me the reference.

As for judging a group based on their mistakes, no group is perfect. Look at the Jews. They made more mistakes than the JW organization. The mistakes you mentioned aren't even relevant. You should be more focused on a groups works and activities over their beginnings. Everyone makes mistakes starting out.

Subtlety and deception are what the JWs are all about. While they may tell nominal "Christians" they believe in the Son of God, they deny that He is God (the NWT corruption paints Jesus as "a god"). And they don't believe that Jesus could be "in" a Christian, but rather "in union with". They also believe in "superseding revelation", or something that continues to unfold. JWs also never stay on point, but rather twist,spin and manipulate the conversation, so that they always have the last word.

As for backing things up with scripture, you should go back and check to see if those scriptures quoted are being quoted in context. You'd be surprised at how many teachings are made from one verse, while ignoring the verses around it that say the opposite.

@blackarck I think you're misunderstanding Jesus and his nature. He was both man and God. He spoke as a man in some verses, and as God in others. You only read the human statements and ignore the divine ones.The same Jesus who promised living water complained of being thirsty - for example.

My mother inlaw joined the JW's and was told that the end times 1975 were coming she, gave away her home (to a young couple also JW's) So she and her kids were homeless, She and her husband he hadn't been baptized yet divorced over the whole house deal, some of the kids left THE TRUTH and the whole family is messed up.

As for taking JW teachings away I've not really heard of that. Are you aware that many JW words are loaded language EG. 'Apostate', 'spiritually weak', 'worldly' and are designed by cults to insult others or create fear and phobia. Bible = 'perfect love throws fear outside.' I once had one of the Wallkill Bethel doctors' secretaries that works in the infirmary at Watchtower Farms tell me the doctor was putting antidepressant medication into at least one elderly sister's soup because she was "edgy." I challenge you to stop focusing on the imperfections of men and their wrong expectations AND LISTEN TO WHAT THE SCRIPTURES REALLY TEACH. The Bible is filled with many embarrassing things concerning God's servants. But who closely resemble First Century Christians nowadays, preaching and teaching about God's Kingdom where ever people are found? You don't have to go to the witnesses. They'll eventually find their way to you.

So my question to you is how can another (finite) man possibly satisfy the wrath of a righteous and just (infinite) God ?If Jesus were a mere man, He would have to pay for our sins the same way we would have to pay for them which would amount to eternal seperation from God. In other words it would be impossible to make that payment in full. We would be under God's wrath despite our good works.

Rutherford predicted the resurrection of the Old Testament saints, and even bought a mansion in San Diego for them. He later moved into it himself. THe only date i'm familiar with is 1975 and around that time period when most of the advent movements were occuring. Virtually every sect outside of Catholicism were setting dates thinking that Christ return was literal. They were babies on the scene of religion. Subtlety and deception are what the JWs are all about. While they may tell nominal "Christians" they believe in the Son of God, they deny that He is God (the NWT corruption paints Jesus as "a god"). And they don't believe that Jesus could be "in" a Christian, but rather "in union with". They also believe in "superseding revelation", or something that continues to unfold. JWs also never stay on point, but rather twist,spin and manipulate the conversation, so that they always have the last word.

As for backing things up with scripture, you should go back and check to see if those scriptures quoted are being quoted in context. You'd be surprised at how many teachings are made from one verse, while ignoring the verses around it that say the opposite.

Chris is right. My mother inlaw joined the JW's and was told that the end times 1975 were coming she, gave away her home (to a young couple also JW's) So she and her kids were homeless, She and her husband he hadn't been baptized yet divorced over the whole house deal, some of the kids left THE TRUTH and the whole family is messed up.
We let our daughter spend the summer once with grandma she make her go door to door in 105 heat wave , That cured the kid of joining the JW's Good work Grandma.

the other passage actually says that Jesus is everything God is condensed into human flesh. That includes deity.

He told his disciples to preach in Matthew 10. Matthew 10:14 tells them to go house to house. Matthew 24:14 says the good news of the kingdom will be preached... before the end comes.

As for taking JW teachings away I've not really heard of that. Are you aware that many JW words are loaded language EG. 'Apostate', 'spiritually weak', 'worldly' and are designed by cults to insult others or create fear and phobia. Bible = 'perfect love throws fear outside.' Why did Rutherford buy and deed a mansion to them. And when his prediction failed, why did he move into the mansion while the loyal JWs who paid for it went hungry during the great depression?

I once had one of the Wallkill Bethel doctors' secretaries that works in the infirmary at Watchtower Farms tell me the doctor was putting antidepressant medication into at least one elderly sister's soup because she was "edgy." Isn't that funny? Drugging her food without her knowledge? I couldn't understand why the sister started smiling at me one day after scowling for months. Yep - God's happy people.

I challenge you to stop focusing on the imperfections of men and their wrong expectations AND LISTEN TO WHAT THE SCRIPTURES REALLY TEACH. The Bible is filled with many embarrassing things concerning God's servants. But who closely resemble First Century Christians nowadays, preaching and teaching about God's Kingdom where ever people are found? You don't have to go to the witnesses. They'll eventually find their way to you.

The KJV is not the original - but where did the KJV come from? it came from the earliest original manuscript discovered. These discoveries were translated by trained professionals. These people condemn jw for the atrocity they have committed in the NWT

If you care to do honest research, you will also find who purposely and erroneously mistranslated the nwt and understand why EVERY GREEK SCHOLAR, translator, historian will declare jw bible a valueless and NOT consistent with the original Christian Holy Bible. jehovah witnesses put out a book called "revelation its grand climax at hand" foretelling the end of the world in 1985-1995 according to Matthew 21. Before this they said that the world would end in 1975 according to there figures 6000 years since the fall of man.

@praiseJah7 I'm sorry to tell you this, but 1914 has no significance whatsoever. There's no scriptural support for the teaching. 1914 is calculated from 607 BCE, which is not the date Jerusalem really was destroyed. Look up reliable historical data.
BTW; A generation lasts 80 years. The generation of 1914 has passed away, and no Armageddon. The society taught this generation wouldn't pass until the end came.

@sheechpaw As I said earlier, you have a choice. Either comply with Jehovah God's arrangement and embrace His Son, or die in your sins. It is all of our sins that killed Jesus who paid ransome sacrifice. Psalms 49:7-8 tells us that no man can redeem his brother. Jehovah had to send His Son. Obey Jehovah God by listening to His Son. I'm done disputing with you. I wish you well.

@sheechpaw I agree Adam was born free of sin, in Jehovah God's image.I'm not disputing that with you.My point is that after sin entered the human race, we now all have a sin nature.Have you read Gen.5:3. Seth was made in Adam's image (a sin nature).Unlike Adam,Jesus knew no sin 2 Cor. 5:21.If He were only a finite man like Adam,could He have lived in the hostile world(unlike Adam) and not given into sin?1John 3:3 talks of His purity. Could He have been truly pure if he had the capacity to sin?

@sheechpaw Jesus says in John 8:24 "if you don't believe that I am He, you will die in your sins" Jesus died for "our" sins on the tree 1 Peter 2:24, not just Adam. We all need to honor the Son as we honor the Father John 5:23. The bible also tells us in the same chapter of John vs.27 that Jesus will be our judge. Did you know that if you die right now, you could be found guilty of the murder of Jesus Christ. You are under a double condemnation for adamic sin as well as your own Ezekiel 18:4.

@sheechpaw Sin entered the race through Adam who was a (finite) human being with a sin nature. So my question to you is how can another (finite) man possibly satisfy the wrath of a righteous and just (infinite) God ?If Jesus were a mere man, He would have to pay for our sins the same way we would have to pay for them which would amount to eternal seperation from God. In other words it would be impossible to make that payment in full. We would be under God's wrath despite our good works.
