  • um dos meus guitarrista predileto ai andy timmom toca de mais.

  • very cool !

  • could you call this genre jazz-rock/fusion or more like classic rock?

  • great play... thx for upload

  • my friend knows this guy, he takes his kid to my school every day, i recently got to eat dinner with him at the house of blues, so suck it

  • this ibanez has a heavenly tone

  • @jbubal

It sounds good but it's Andy that gives it the tone :)

  • Awesome player, great tone...and he's always smiling

  • People say he is Satch-like....So what?

Everybody is influenced by everybody else.

I think AT's stuff is too good for radio.

    It's not background-while-you-work music.

You are forced to pay attention when AT plays.

  • He's a great composer--very nice--- I like it a lot.

  • Satch feel with Vai chops he is a listenable player. Has a good hook a bit stiff at times. I like it though.

  • Very much Joe Satriani-ish ..... Don,t you Think.......?

  • @brianis1000 I think he's more Andy Timmons-y.

  • great player but very sessioney

  • @julian40able ....your point being?

  • Andy's music is something i don't have a word to describe... :)

  • Cool!

  • MATT DAMON!!

  • Dexter Morgan with long hair

  • This is what happens when a man makes love to a guitar \m/

  • Interesting. I've never heard anyone go all heavy-metallic with major 7th chords before.

  • love you andy... but your no buckethead

  • @antisanity1 and thank God for that!

  • @antisanity1 if he was buckethead, then I wouldn't listen to him...

  • @TasteForDisaster What's wrong with Bucket?

  • who is steve vai???

  • @bumborini123 God

  • so if hes so good why havent we heard of him hello people still no soul niel young blow him out of the park not hard to memorize penitonic BOARING

  • @jrrdspncr Wonderful spelling skills.

  • Ladies and Gentleman the "Don`t like feature" ain`t the "Favorite one", read carefully.

  • love to see how he switch pickups at 1:53

  • '' People find these guys when their ears are ready for them.''

    Exactly!

  • this one makes me orgasm...

  • this sounds great ........

  • I find shredding PG stuff actually easier than this (i kinda learnt from his Intense rock DVD's so i guess i would ... ;) ) ... but for those of you that think slower may mean easier , you are SO wrong, all of this guys lead runs are out of the box, have complicated fingerings and are just all over the place and never sound the same twice..... Awesome player !

  • Excelente tema. Andy timmons maestro

  • Another under rated guitar player who doesn't get the credit that he deserves. We love you bro! Keep rock'n!

  • I thought Andy was a great player in the band Danger Danger, then I heard his replacment .... Rob Marcello. Whew...

  • This guy has the best tone around!

  • Great guitarist. This tune has hints of Vai and Satriani in his phrasing. Anyway, I like his approach to playing. Less is more philosophy. It's all about the quality of the notes, not quantity. I can sit and listen to this kinda player all day. Alot of shredders out there can learn alot from this guy, Ill tell ya.

  • just awesome.

  • awesome!

  • @1:16-1:18

    No Andy, Thank you

  • Fantastic guitar player! Somewhat influenced by Steve Vai. Or thats what I can hear anyway.

    Awesome stuff!

  • @DV7Dave Steve vai is more of a shredder than andy. He's good. but i think andy has a way better sound to him in comparison.

  • @slamkam07 Andy certainly has a much warmer tone in comparison, probably due to the fact he picks with his fingers. But I wouldn't say it was "better".

I mentioned the Steve Vai influence simply because of what I heard at 1:00 or even 2:33 for example. I'm sure you could reference other guitarists with similar playing styles, but Steve Vai dominates my play list and the guy does have an Ibanez in his hands with the long hair to match! :)

  • Guys is this an actual song or is a tune for demostration for the purposes of a DvD?

  • @peppasgeorge

That is an actual song. You can find it on his compilation CD "That was then, This is now". It came out on 2002 on Favored Nations Record Label.

  • @peppasgeorge Super 70's

  • great feel and absolute control...simply wow. :O

  • if only hitler where alive to see this.

  • Excellent begining !! excellent song

  • I'm new to Andy Timmons, but the thing i took away from it was this: the guy still has GROOVE even with all of the flourishes...develops some serious groove / riffs and builds on them....number two..his choice of notes....excellent...phrasing...excellent....great job Andy!

  • i find it impossible that anyone could dislike this song, its full of energy and nostalgic happiness, what more can you ask for in a song

  • @Mpalmer00

I feel nothing but nostalgic, bittersweet happiness when I listen to Resolution.

  • never heard of this guy before this. I tip my hat to you good sir.

  • awesome licks and style!

  • he looks like hes having such a fun time :)

  • i loveee you andy timmonssss......

  • I want to understand who are the 49 workers who do not like this video!

  • The best and most underrated guitar player on earth...

  • It's so cool to watch Andy play, he sure enjoy every note!

  • @MEGAS0UND How retarded are you?

  • amazing !!!!! one of my favorites

  • Technical, tasteful solos with flavor and character. These types of guitarists are truly amazing. Rock on Andy!

  • i wanted to check out ricardo the tardo's moronic channel so i could laugh at it

    sadly, he deleted it.

    LOL.

  • @RicardoTheTardo i think you have best guitarist mixed up with biggest cunt, get your words straight silly goose

  • @RicardoTheTardo

    You have a small dick

  • @MEGAS0UND if you think that andy timmons can't sweep, can't string skipp then you are seriously mistaken. and if you don't think he knows scales, then you are just plain stupid!

  • @MEGAS0UND wtf with you buddy...? , you seem pretty mad at this guy , let people be and play wathever they want , not everyone likes "shred" or 4045948098 bpm music

  • 49 People broke guitar strings trying to play this

  • @MEGAS0UND Imma fuck you up for saying that you peice of shit

  • kinda sounds like a foo fighters song.

  • @TheAxis456 hahahaha love it

  • muito bom parabéns

  • @MEGAS0UND Wow, how old are you? Maybe 9 or 10 Go back to your bubble gum party

  • Look up lydian in the dictionary....it says "see the epitemy of greatness!"

  • Watched five videos of this guy, thought i had formed an opinion on him, my opinion just got blown out of the water.

  • sin duda un maestro

  • 2 hours ago I shake hands with ANDY TIMMONS!!! YUPPI!!!!!!!!

  • the person below left a comment

  • Dexter ;D

  • @Pallka23 Am i the only one that realizes why that's funny??

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Head Explodes after reading the discussion about music thoery underneath)

  • i'm sorry.

  • Great!!!

  • i love this man. anyone know what model ibanez that baby is?

  • @TheAlteredTuning Ibanez AT 300 It is one of the evolutions of his signature version of the sa's that are now discontinued. They are the slim bodies and are fantastic, my geetarist plays with one. Violin top is killer huh?

  • @guitargeant

Thanks a bunch for the reply, I really appreciate it!

  • People tend to gravitate towards the oddly named "commercial" guitarists at the beginning, before discovering all these guys later who blow them all away. Instrumental will never be "pop". I like it that way. People find these guys when their ears are ready for them.

  • @stemajor7

    I couldnt agree more.

  • @stemajor7 Pop music is more "pop"ular because We who speak in the language of Melodic Minor and Lydian (Major) are the minority compared to those who don't understand music.

It's okay. Because if everyone knew how to navigate a Hexatone scale, then even the most brilliant composer would find himself at a struggle to collect an audience, and/ or Any salary at all....

I resign myself to the fact that I'll never succeed with the music industry. But if my life lets me play and record every day...

  • @ShadowLancer128 Thats basically a bullshit statement. There are enough non-pop artist who know shit about modes or complex harmony stuff. And Hexatonic scales are actually the most used scale in music ---> Blues scale. Which is basically a pentatonic with an added note which makes it Hexatonic. So actually A LOT of guitarplayers know how to navigate a Hexatonic scale (which isnt hexatone) like you spelled it. Use those theoretical words when you know the meaning of 'em. PS. Andy Timmons is win.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed ugh.... here we go.... ok.

There really aren't. There are what, basically 5 popular guitarists, something like 3 famous keyboardist, etc... I dont find that there are enough. Blues Scales are minor pentatonics with an ADDED dim. 5th. A hexatone scale which is "hexatonic" as you pronounce it, is a WHOLETONE scale. A scale more famously known for its dreamy sound, consisting of all Whole Steps in its (((6 INTERVALS.))) This is why its called a hexatone scale.

  • @ShadowLancer128 Look it up...youll see that the Hexatonic scale covers up 4 different scales, including the blues scale. Also, a major 4th is non-existing in music. Its either the augmented fourth or the diminished 5th, since the fourth basically is perfect interval which consists out of 6 semitones. And since when has ''knowledge'' of music theory anything to do with IQ? Also the Whole Tone scale isn't a very practical scale to use, so its understandable why its not used much.

  • The Blues scale was made for the blues genre. I did look it up, and know what I'm talking about.

I'm pointing out the technicalities which you seem to ignore.

"The Hexatone scale" is just a name made for any progression of 6 intervals. And yes, a maj. 4th is also called a tritone, or b 5th. Knowledge of Music Theory is relevant to IQ when you go to college FOR music, Like me :D No, it's not very practical + its intervals are sometimes very difficult on the fingers (and the mind)

  • Comment removed

  • @ShadowLancer128 K'm Pee du Wee uses the Lydian mode. AND the 4th interval of the major scale = the perfect 4th not the major 4th. It's a shame that if you go to college for music and don't know that. No wonder that almost everyone ignores those so called ''music studies''.

  • Comment removed

  • @ShadowLancer128 Sounds like you should do some more studying.....

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed : )

Whats funny is we're both wrong, with given intonation problems, there is no such thing as a perfect interval, at least on Just (also called equal) temperament.

So- we're both music nerds and are both right. lol. enough is enough, eh?

  • Have I passed my IQ test for the day, professor?

  • For a similar sounding procession of intervals, There is always the Lydian Mode of The Major Scale. Which If I'm not mistaken, is any Major chord (or note in this case) played over its Major 4th. i.e. Cmaj/F, Gmaj/C, etc...

  • I would be the Happiest Man on Earth.

  • @stemajor7 These are the most true words I've heard in a very long time. Really... such a great observation.

  • @stemajor7 Wow that is so correct its not even funny.

  • @stemajor7 Yeah, like John Petrucci or Eric Johnson....You still cannot beat the good ol blues rifts of SRV!

  • @jimmymac63 yep, just because a guitarist is extremely technical doesnt mean they make good music. Andys good but i find this boring.

  • @stemajor7 because beforehand, when their ears are not ready, they might go into a potentially fatal state of shock

  • @stemajor7 I agree with you on that.

  • @stemajor7Quoted "People find these guys when their ears are ready for them."

    Best shit i've heard

  • @TSS1994 That is sooo true!!

  • @TSS1994 sooooooooo efing true man, right on!

  • @stemajor7 you hit the point :D thanks men^^

  • It is a sin and a shame that Andy Timmons isn't better known. He has a unique style, and everything he plays is so impressive. I love his touch, the way he accents and phrases notes. Everything always sounds "just right" when Andy plays it. He very easily would hang with Steve Vai, Joe Satch, and a host of other "heroes", yet not very many know about him. I'm so sick of telling people about him, and they say "Andy who?". The guy is brilliant.

  • @Sweeper5 Yep!

  • Looks like he's playing to a recorded song.

  • Goddamn, i fucking love andy

  • andy timmon´s is a guitar monster..flawless, masterfull, performance..

  • Andy Timmons has an awesome tone! Really amazing, this guy...

  • @JERRANACE

it sounds really great but i would not call that a "tone" cause it's way to artificial (to many effect under which the feeling is buried) it's a cool sound but not much "tone" left

  • Such a sexy ass natural vibrato.

  • Saw the man live last month, it gives me the chills ´till today.

  • simpl tasteful genious from Timmons. such expression and dynamics, he really gets into it and does his thing. Hero

  • genial siempre andy...!!!!

  • I think Andy Timmons is the only exception to my heterosexuality.

  • @utopianreality lol!

  • @utopianreality I agree!! But only if he is playing the guitar!! Just at the moment he stop playing looks as ugly as you or me =D

  • @utopianreality You've just made my day.

  • @utopianreality 59 grown men just undressed Andy Timmons with their eyes.......

  • 2:36 - 2:45 love it!

  • @MEGAS0UND el propio azaraomix es lo que eres!! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE MAN!! YOU R MAKING YOURSELF NOTICE TALKING S... there are many ways to do it ..

  • I just noticed, is that an EM filter on the guitar lead?

  • @esgimasd i think its just a small velcro band for tying the cord up

  • Seen Andy twice in Hong Kong, ibanez guitar clinics.

  • @MEGAS0UND

I'd like to see your grandpa compose something this good..

Its not all about playing it. You ahve to give the guy credit for writing such great music.

I seriously doubt that your grandpa could make song as nice as this one.

  • @JackIntheBK OH YEA!!! well i bet his grandpa can shit his pants while playing a 2 note solo! can andy do that no

  • Enjoy him people. One of our greatest living guitarists.

  • love the music, but just where in the world is he sitting in front of? it looks like a robotic kitchen or something

  • is that an AT-300 without the god awful inlays?

    WANT!!!

  • If that's how he's like with his guitar, his wife is one lucky woman.

  • I LOVE YOU ANDY TIMMONS!!!!!

  • haha fuck i wrote an old riff similar feel to the first riff in this

  • I love how original he is. You'd never hear his style anywhere else....

  • The guys that doesn't liked this video thinks music is a competition... My favourite guitar player is slash, but some guys here on yt recommend Andy timmons songs to me (for practicing vibrato). And he has atleast the vibrato and speed as slash (haven't listened at some fast Andy timmons material, please tell anyone if you know:P. ) I don't care I listen how it sounds not on the speed, I hate most speed players, Andy has both speed and vibrato skills!! He's my second favourite guitarist!!

  • @robban97swe

Wauw you need to explore some more my friend, Slash has made some great riffs but there are a ton of guitarists out there that are gonna make you awe way more! Check out some of Timmons other songs such as "Electric Gypsy", "Pink Champagne Sparkle", "I Remember Stevie" etc. Timmons is a fast player as you can here in his song "Groove or Die" but he is also a master of melody and that's why he is known to be so great! That's why Slash is famous too, great riffs and melodies!

  • @oliverandm I was supposing on the skills, not the melodic sound when I mentioned that (I weren't clear enough). Andy also've got realluy awesome riffs and solos, I especially like the intro of "deliver to us":)

    Thanks for telling me:)

  • Very good compo.

  • @figaz555 Andy Timmons fails..? I think someone seriously needs to do their research. Your halfway there, your browser is on youtube.com, you must have typed in 'Andy Timmons' so go watch his other videos already.. The guy is insane

  • Andy played this song at a Mesa Boogie clinic I went to!!! He was AWESOME!!!!

  • wow

  • Stu Hamm him self told me that technique is about don't have any physical limitation when you try to express something, so, doesn't matter if is low speed or light fast, emotion can be express in any speed, besides, Andy is an incredible musician, when you hear him, you simply enjoy your self.....

  • SOULFUL, EMOTIONAL, INTENSE & GIFTED ! How else can one describe Andy Timmons playing ?...He is a musical genius !!! Andy makes EVERY NOTE count !

  • @kennyflattopdeken

Yep, I think you got it. That's the point so many people are missing. There are so many guys noodling on their guitars with loads of distortion and os on but give them an acoustic guitar in hands and make them play ONE EXPRESSIVE NOTE and they're lost.

  • @tomtomomelley

well an acoustic guitar is almost a different instrument than the electric guitar.

  • @tomtomomelley Give an acoustic player an Electric guitar and watch the most dreadfull guitar playing!!!!!!! ha ha looks like we have ourselves a jonas brothers freak!!!!!! So ignorant if you dont like the video then go watch other videos!!!!

  • this guy is great...but this fkn ibanez is screwing the song

  • @FCValle are you insane? the guitar sounds fantastic .

  • andy é o cara!!!!!!!!!

  • the feelman andy timmons ^_^

  • @madews generally no, but this song has a very steve vai like groove to it

  • @birdiejoehoaks

    No? Retard.

  • @figaz555 the main groove is not that different from Viv Woman. i dont understand why its such an insult to compare two extremely talented guitarists.

  • He sounds and looks so cool! I like discrete and talented musicians.
