  • pilatus porter has the same turbine

  • Do we really need the cheesy rock soundtrack?

  • What is the camera ship? Yak or Nangchang?

  • Could you privately own one of these?

  • @pacsum No you cannot. I already tried contacting the CEO of Pilatus here in Australia and the Sebastian said no. But you can buy a PC-9. It has been certified too so you can charter it. However ...$7 mill. Its not a great buy. Pleant of other aircraft that go just as fast for far less.

  • @pacsum not sure, but i think it is possible.

  • @superharryboy it seems is it not possible now, maybe in some years it will be.

  • Forgot to mention, the PC-21 is even fitted with a catapult seat, such as on a real fighter jet, so in term the aircraft might have an issue, its possible to eject from that. So you see, that training aircraft simply is worth the bucks and got highest security standart.

  • Besides, the aircraft which comes closest to the PC-21 in specs, is probably the A29 Super Tucano from Brazil. It cost 9 million, almost same price, and got almost same 1600 eHP engine too, max speed is a bit slower and it got totaly different use. Its mainly used to fight drug gangs which can be done without the use of a expensive jet. So the A29 obviously got some air to air weapons, while the PC-21 only could use air to ground. For most countrys more use since a A29 is ineffective vs. jets.

  • @Xenrageful this is not all true,A29 (super tucano) can carry and launch air to air infra red missiles, including the very capable rafael python 4,even to an f 16 is extremely dangerous approaching a super tucano less than 15 kilometers if he is armed with such missiles, this is not primary mission for A29 obviously but can do if needed.

  • The PC-21 is even usable for advanced jettraining, which usualy only can be performed on real jets. but you still dont need those jets at full power. However, by using such a PC-21 not only the cost are several times lower, aswell noise and general environmental stress is much lower. So there is lot of reasons why to use such a aicraft for, and yes, it does look great, one of the most beautyful single prop ever.

  • Im, not sure if australia is actually the owner of those, from what i know Singapore was buying 19 of them but they are located in australia for training matters. PC-21 is a aircraft tuned for aicraft training for possible jet pilots (such as FA 18). There is indeed other training aicraft around but only a few can match equal peformance combined with lower cost such as a PC-21 is capable of. It can fly up to mach 0.72, a lot for a single prop. Its aswell used for aerobatic with less weight

  • 10 million might look like a lot but aicrafts with equal use and usage usualy cost even more, especially in order to maintain them, so its a good price. Its indeed able to fit some weapons, however, thats rather for occasional purpose in the matter of counter-insurgency-role, and not intented in any primarl terms. Max weight for mounted air to ground weapons is about 2.5k ib (1.1k kg). Empty weight is about 5k Ibs (2.28k kg), max load about 8k ibs (4.1k kg). Max load for aerobatics is 6.8k ibs

  • @ProfessionalAirCorps oh thank you for answer!!, now I only have to get 10 millon dollars??

  • Can a civilian buy a PC 21??

  • This IS the famous PC-21 of PILATUS Aircraft from Stans in Switzerland! It's a JET Trainer but with turbo prop engine and carries no weapons.

  • Hot, Fanzy and sexy aircraft.. But what about weapons or any other payload?????

  • @redstar127 1 student and 1 instructor on board and a little cargo pod. It's a trainer, not a fighter, bomber or anything.

  • There is not spoused to be any weapons or payoad this is sipmle for training the real pilots for A real Fighter jet beacuse these are as agile but way less expensive

  • Can a civilian buy one of these?

  • @bishop102 Not sure about the Pilatus PC-21, but there are civilian owned Pilatus PC-7s (very similar to the PC-2).

  • @bishop102 Yes the infor is at pilatus-aircraft .

  • Can spell ,can;t type.

  • Would you wear a Brazillian watch at the Deyton Airshow?

  • @Yankevych That is the point, they wear...What shame!

  • A copy of brazilian aircraft t-27, what shame!!!!

  • @zimmermann10

The Pilatus Pc-21 is based on the desing of the Pilatus Pc-7 which is an improvment of the Pilatus P-3.

1963 the brazilian Navy got 6 of those P-3. Your t-27 was developed more than 15 years later...

  • I hate Music at Flightvideos!

  • Australian military trainer or what..??

  • @pope007 not quite... its made by Pilatus in Switzerland

  • much better without music

  • The video is OK unfortunately it is ruined by the moronic music that seem to infest aviation videos constantly.

  • saw it at Point Cook- EPIC
