I love this song but I think you missed the point of it. Its not really about being a druggie, its more about liiving with a girl who is dying of meningitis and trying to take care of her. Theres drugs involved, but its mainly because she needs them because she is in so much pain, and he takes some as well because its such and awful situation and he needs to be calmed somehow.
