  • Fantastic video...pottery is a strange kind of alchemy to me, and such a joy to watch the creative process.

  • Did you just glaze the inside of the top and bottom?

    (Lovely throwing skills!)

  • ZWIIIIINE BAZAF!!!!

  • I have a quick question, how does one make a terracotta pot/tajine like this flame proof? As I made a BBQ out of terracotta and it cracked down the side with it's first use. ANyone got any ideas as I know you can buy terracotta earthware which is flame proof? Is there a special process to make it have this ability?

  • Does the food tastes different cooking it in one of these??

where can I buy one ??

  • Wow! You're professional.

  • 5 seconds were enough to subscribe. absolutely magical!

  • Amazing! Its like watching a magic show :) Beautiful object appeared out of a plain blob!

  • Lovely work, great hands, perfect music, fine video angle! Inspiring. Thank you.

  • WOW!!! I took pottery in College, wish I could of done at least a coffee mug, God has given you two gifted hands.

  • for sake of reference can you tell me approximately how much clay was used? in lbs or kg? also - you are a true master at your craft. thanks for all the vids

  • I think it turned out just fine. great job.

  • The music is Smetena's "The Moldau," a tone poem about the flow of the Moldau river. One of my favorite pieces, next to "Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks."

  • これはすごい!これは素直に感動しました。

    自分もやってみたい!

  • What is the classical music playing in the video? It is so nice..

  • im in a ceramics class and ever since i sat down at the wheel I've been obsessed... personally i like using a lot of water when i throw although my teacher seriously disagrees. Its nice seeing someone as yourself throw because it shows that i don't need to change my way just because someone says it's "wrong"

  • AWESOME! I've been wanting to make one of these for a while as a gift to my husband, now you have inspired me. LOVE your choice of music too :) BTW, I am going to use Laguna 250 Raku clay-I find that it holds up very well to open flame and electric stoves, and I have successfully used in for all my cookware. I stain it with iron oxide for beauty. Thanks SO much for posting : )

  • it makes me wonder how the hell do you do that design at the end lol now that is true Skill. XD

  • for sure its not your first ,but is a good job.

  • How does this pot work as a cooker? Do you put it on hot coals or something and bake with it?

  • do you glaze this at all?.....and is this for the top of the stove or in the oven?

    love your work

  • Dan, I love your style when you lift the clay after opening it. I've tried to recreate it since it appears to be very efficient but I've had no luck. Any pointers?

  • @15commandments Lol that makes two of us XD

  • Excellent music choice, The Muldau!

  • @rubberstampman I was going to make this reply, but you beat me to it! I totally agree!!

  • how much clay did yo use for each piece?

  • Do you make a hole in the top/handle?

  • cool

  • you have to show some respect to those skilled craftsmen whenever you buy or use those clay tagine pots !. excellent job

  • When I watched this, I remembered the pottery scene from "Ghost" and the song "Unchained Melody"... LOL!

  • cool

  • I love watching pottery bakers at work. The spinning is quite therapeutic.

  • im moroccan very impresed....;)

  • It looks great except like you said, the lid should have been deeper.

Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work, if you open a tagine shop in the USA, let me know I will come shopping.

  • @sousoukitchen he works in the UK

  • You are right....to cook much in them I found it better to make them deeper...more goodies for the cooker... I loved throwing the knob on the lid...first time I ever tried it...cool..

  • Hello again....I have been working on these too..it is great to watch a master do them...My last one's lid stuck...kiln over fired...oh well more practice...right?

  • Dan, is the material you used ok for stove top? Please excuse the ignorance but I was trying to imagine cooking in a flower pot :-)

  • If you use the correct Terracotta Clay fired to a high enough temperature it's fine on the stove, although Gas is better as some halogen hobs aren't suitable apparently.

  • How do you get such considerable height in th first pull (the one where you wrao both hands around the clay and essentially collar in)?

When I do as you do, I cannot keep the clay moist enough for me to get much height. I also get deep ridges from my right ring finger digging into the clay.

  • Use really soft clay and tonnes of water.

  • nice work!!

  • Very interesting! Thank you ;-D

  • Tagines are wonderful to cook in. They actually create a cooking environment that is constantly basting the food, which makes meat extremely tender and flavorful.

    Nice job!

  • This is just great! Thanks for sharing...keep them coming!!!!

  • You are an amazing potter.

  • First pull at the beginning is by far the coolest to watch. Thanks for the vid!

  • WOW you made one!!!! you did it so much easier than i did lol, thanks alot for the demo. i feel special now, never had anyone actually make a video to one of my questions!!! i ended up doing ALOT of trimming on mine.

  • Pretty cool:)
