Not to mention that he is probably three X the age of every Fast and Furious bonehead that keeps slinging mud. He would murder you guys in an endurance race! And he could get up the next day and then do it again! Go wrench on your civics and SRT4s, maybe you should spend your time trying to discover this thing called balance and torque. Cheers!
I have personally driven with this man in this car and I can tell you that he knows his way around infineon. I have posted numerous fast laps at karting tracks and was unable to catch him on this track in a similar car, despite a 100lb weight advantage. Siddhartha is the mini king!
They seriously need a catch fence there. I don't want to imagine what would happen if a Winston Cup car ended up there. Hope that driver can race again soon.
1) In any NASA enduro event, you're REQUIRED to yield immediately to faster traffic. It's not like a sprint race where you can battle out of class a bit.
2) Running a "perfect" line under race conditions, with traffic, when it's hot, managing your tires, is not the same as running a perfect line in Forza or during a single-lap TT.
3) Like him or not, this guy's out there putting his money and life on the line. It's easy to criticize, tough to actually sign up for the USTCC and run.
For the record, I've only been to Infineon twice but I did run a totally stock S5 around that course, plus the extra little "bump" chicane at the end, in 2:01. So I'd say I understand the track well enough and it seems to me that the driver is doing just fine.
You know, I really do laugh at posers. I'll be doing a three hour enduro in one of the Koni Challenge RSR Minis this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. You (and all the rest of you folks who still don't get it) are invited to attend. But on the other hand . . . I don't know. 3 hours is a long time for anyone with a short attention span. Caveat.

I'd go but will be at Road Atlanta all weekend for the Chin event. I'll be at the Rolex 24 though if you will be there. LOL @ you not knowing who I am...
@musiddhartha i so agree with you , those posers don't know how much work and money is needed to just put a race car on time for a championship race , just finishing the race without breaking the is already an achievement ( i know that i'm a staff member with Fastco motorsports in the CTCC ) . nice vid btw :) you mini is very quick :D gotta love it
It's amazing how many tyros don't understand racing for position. For lines, watch #37 USTCC qualifying. Qualifying=fast lap time. Racing=position. You can't see the cars next to me and behind me in the race video.
Good job driving. Congratulations winning Rookie of the Year.
How is it that you attract comments from all the twenty something punks that haven't been on the track and don't even have any videos?
I guess these guys don't know that your Mini is FWD, and about driving in traffic, and maybe they didn't notice that you are being passed by cars in a faster racing class.
I hope that Angelo is recovering. That was quite a crash. Sorry I didn't get up to watch the race. Catch you next time.
Ok, so, i see something wrong with all this, everyone is arguing about this guy's line when the real issue at hand here is that Angelo Zucchi, the guy who was driving the car in the wreck, was seriously injured, we should all be giving our thoughts to that driver rather than giving this guy crap about his technique
I'm no hotshoe at Infinion (east coast), but looking at your video there are a couple of places where your line through the corner is, um, a little too much "hugging the inside." You're losing all your corner exit speed, exactly why so many cars were passing you. Your car has some serious grunt in a straight line, but you're dying on the corner exit.
Running a "defensive line" is one thing - taking that same line every lap is another.
LOL, I didn't realize I was being an asshole! Just trying to be helpful. But I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, his corner entry technique ina couple of corners is probably costing him 2-3 sec a lap minimum, and if you post your vids up on a public forum you'd better expect some helpful criticism and have appropriatey thick skin. I only mentioned my experience so the nuttswingers wouldn't immediately make stupid remarks about me being a ricer or XBox racer. If that's arrogant then so be it.
I think it's funny how kids and know-it-alls can talk shite all day long on the internet, but they wouldn't even have the balls to turn a sub 2:00 lap at Infineon. Or the skills for that matter!
You are either an idot or you just dont get racing. There are cars in areas you can not see in this video. The driver was driving a racing line which put the car where ever you have too to stay in front!!!
Go back to your playstation and show us how it's done! You ricers have no idea what you're talking about. Bring it to the track and I guarantee he'll spank you.
Million bux says all these kids who posted negtive on here drive ricers with body kits, underglow, and primer/bondo spots on their cars.......hey dude is your fav movie fast and the furious??????
lets go drag race yeah oh or better yet street race with our 100 hp cars Bwah ha ha
Any of you boneheads ever race door to door? You think he might be off line because he's racing in traffic? You can't see beside him. Racers don't win races by staying on the line, even if you start from pole and stay up front, you'll have to pass lapped traffic sometime. I drove this track the same day, this guy is good to take those corners off line and stay on the track.
Lol... you never been to track and expect to beat a club racer. I will bow to you if you don't brake 200 feet before the braking zone like all novices.
I think what you are noticing is him using his braking to run up besides people to take the corner. thats the only time he is really off the "ideal line" besides in traffic. which I hope are not the moments you a refrencing to his line sucking.
Not to mention that he is probably three X the age of every Fast and Furious bonehead that keeps slinging mud. He would murder you guys in an endurance race! Which corners are you talking about specifically? there are some early apexes at Infineon. Also video doesn't reflect the huge elevation changes.

Glad the guy in the Spoon car survived. Looks intense from the little bit i seen. Does anyone know why he went off road yet?

If you can beat a 1:57 around Infineon, you will pass me. If not, I will pass you and the passing rules are simple: any car, any time, anywhere.

it's called driving defensively.
if he took the same line he took in qualifying, people could pass him quite easily.
