@davidrdk Thanks for the advice :) am about to start for the new year and will be making videos again. Will be making sure I measure and look at how my body is changing in tone and not be too bothered by the scales. Well, that's my intention lol
You really shouldn't worry about your weight too much, 9 stone isn't a bad weight. In fact i think that a good weight. Learn to love you're weight and body! I'm 16 and i weigh 12 stone. I used to think i was fat but i learned to love my body. I understand that you wanna exercise and eat healthy and you should, but you dont need to concentrate on the weight. It's an unhealthy obsession to have
Everyone that goes raw needs a coach. The addiction to bread, cheese, meat and cooked foods is like any addiction. Coming off the high of those foods is hard and painful! You will experience major changes in brain chemistry and cravings that will be near impossible unless you 'get it'. By get it I mean that you understand those cravings are like an the cravings of any other drug or alcohol. Stay raw 100% and never look back. When you look back, you will fall. If you do get right back up!
Stop fixating on the scale. Look at your Long term goals. Your eating healthier, and exercising more. Stick with that. The results will bear fruit in the months ahead.
@wavehawaii808 sound advice and one I should have remembered back then but am starting again for 2011. Feels good to get going again. Thanks for your comment :)
@LetMeLivetoo Funny thing is, I have lost a lot of weight by eating more raw foods and following food combining principals before and it did stay off for a long time - despite me slipping back into very self abusive eating & drinking habits.. I just need to get back into the habit of eating right as I love it when i do :) Thanks for the compliment too!
@wisfar123 Thanks for the positive comments and yes I agree, I have to love who I am right now then it'll probably be easier for me to treat myself better with food, exercise and meditation. I will keep on starting over and over again if need be :)
@rachbrad123 True, that if you cut out a square of fat and a same size square of muscle the muscle would weigh more but also I know that muscles continues to burn calories even while resting... I normally do see an increase in weight before I start losing it if I'm exercising hard, so just have to accept it and not get demoralised in the meantime!
I know it's been about a year - how are you doing now? you said you were premenstral - I always gain 1.5-2lbs during this time - and after, it goes away... don't worry so much, just keep at it -
@xaniim I keep stop and starting. It's stupid, I let my emotions rule me too much and eat crap instead of sticking with a high raw diet which makes me feel better and would have the added bonus of me losing weight. I'm probably fatter than I was a year ago, at the moment. I am gonna bloomin' do it though.
my advice would be to stop getting on that scale. it's not accurate and i finally just threw mine away. the scale will say you weight more "pounds" if you've had more water that day. right before you're period you can be 3-5lbs heavier than your actual bodyweight. the way i track my progress is with the tape measure and bodyfat %. those are the two that will give you the most accurate readings. unless you go to a doctor, also remember the bodyfat % things you buy, are usually off by 3-5%
hiya king - maybe try keeping a food diary for a week and recording EVERYTHING you put in your moujth - including what you drink - even those little 'tastes', then you'll be able to see where the problem is maybe. If it's really not what you're eating then maybe go see your doctor and get tested to see if your thryoid is functioning properly and everything is ok.
Keep at it :D
The only reason I don't lose weight is when I don't eat well.. sugar and processed food love my hips *lol*
eating raw meat ain't a great idea... really.. if you want to eat meat, buy cuts of animals that have been grass fed, preferably free range and organic. they won't be filled with hormones which in turn won't fill you with hormones. and ummm COOK it and choose lean. :D
I started Raw in Oct 2008 and about 1 month ago I am High raw almost full raw on most days.I too and shrinking yet scale moves little.REMEMBER if u re exercising u may be gaining muscle weight :-)
I do see an overall improvement this week. Don't feel too bad about the scale, remember as you build muscle it is normal to see a little weight gain at first because you are building muscle wich is heavier than fat. The great thing about this fact is the new muscle will burn more fat even while you rest and over time you will lose alot of weight, it's a snowball effect. You are doing a wonderful job and it will get easier as you continue improving on your beautiful body!
Hi :D Thank you for your comment! The raw food way of eating is great for many reasons and I would lose weight if I ummm... stuck to it *lol*. I did actually release about 1.5stone (21lbs) in 2007 eating that way and felt great before going back to my old bad eating habits as a way of dealing my emotional circumstances... *sigh*
So my goal at the moment is to eat about 80% raw vegan and maybe one day be 100% but only if it feels right to do so.
When I'm eating a high raw diet, after first few days detox, I have so much energy I usually only sleep 5 or 6 hours a night and feel so much clearer and lighter - in body and spirit... I just need to stop sabotaging myself with junk and break the emotional eating habit.
I've gone out and bought a load of fruit and veg and have started the Jason Vale "Juicemaster" 7lbs in 7 days where I'm only going to be consuming fruit n veg mix juices that I make. Will video blog about my progress mebbe...
Thank you and good luck with your challenge too! Errmmm I'm going to do something different this week though, as last week, when I thought about it, I ate and drank stuff that was really nooooo good for me... I confessed in my blog post *lol*

I am a exercise physiologist- the reason you put on weight is because your muscles are growing- don't let the scale deceive you with weight.

I hear ya, the raw food diet didn't help me lose weight either. I am not a vegan though.
Have you always been a vegan?
I didn't get energy from raw either. I get it from animal protein, eggs and low fat meats.
Good luck with the new commitment.
A fruit feast sounds great to me. Good luck
Make a video of all the fruit for the feast.
