  • Indeed---we just had an east side candidate forum and asked each candidate whether they believe the NPs are legal documents, or if they are merely a set of recommendations that the council can ignore at will. Everyone seems to be throwing in the towel, saying they are advisory. Who is informing them this way? The NP is a part of the comprehensive plan, and the city council is skirting around it at every turn it can. The lawsuits aren't over yet!

  • I don't know what to think about NPs becoming "advisory." Yes, who is dishing out the mis-information? I'm with Dawson, the first neighborhood to have a NP. It's been downhill ever since. I have stood infront of the Planning Commission and called for Neighbor Planning Teams to disband. No one listens to NPT anyway. Throw everything back on the shoulders of the city council and PC and then we'll see things changing. By the way, I'm David Haun, VP of DNA. And you?

  • Thanks for posting! This is exactly why we need council members that respect and abide by the neighborhood plan and its planning process!!

  • Hey, Thanks for the kind words. Those videos are the very begining of the breach of conflict of interest provision in Austin's Neighborhood Plan. Everything that has happened since then, has been illegal. I have emplained this to Ms. Morrison but she has not responded.
