@planchestrength I watched your videos and your not even close to where he is, and in all honesty neither of you are so far along. BTW planchestrength you really need to lock your arms for a planche. Train hard on it both of you guys.
@stonedwheatthins Figured you would respond like that, anyway its not a planche if your arms are bent so your on day 3 of not planche training. But good luck anyway you'll realize when you get more experience that using bent arms is a huge way to short change yourself.
Do a vid at Six Flags or Disneyland. I agree with booner that if your shorts were mid thigh we could see the definition and what muscle groups are being worked and stretched during the warm ups and the the workout themselves. Have you began working on your legs yet? You had said in other videos you were going to.
Okay, you've sold me! I didn't want to bother to take the time to do stretches, but listening to you, I realized that an unexplained sharp pain in my back area below my right shoulder came from my not warming up and stretching when I was working hard on increasing my push-ups.
You're a good example of what you are teaching and definitely worth listening to.
That's a beautiful beach, by the way; I didn't get where you said it was, but I like it.
I saw the haters video. You can learn video production at cybercollege(.com) click on the "contents" box where it says free TV Production course. At the next page click on the bar that says "TV production modules." We used this website for TV production at Cleveland State University.
Move the camera closer and if you do another beach shot get a noise canceling mic so we can clearly hear you. It was good to watch but seeing you closer would of been better
I have high respect for anyone who can do planching. I think that is the best test for strenght and balance both strenght , body and mind. Anyone who can do it on the beach like this rocks! Id love to see any of those big guys try it! Bet they cant!
@theshadowfag The reason big guys dont try it is because they have not gone through the progressions nor do they care to. In all honesty, planche is a silly skill for people's amusement/ego. Having a beach body is far more important to most people.
By the way, I showed a planche video to a friend of mine, and he said "wow thats a cool trick, but i could still kick his ass" because he's an mma fighter
Is gymnastic strength/skills or martial art techniques/body size more advantageous in life?
@jrk987 Thanks for responding. Great observation. I think both are advantageous in life because they both require consistant perserverance in development of their techniques, plenty of exercise and concentration and physical fitness. I assist in an MMA gym so i know what youre talking about. I dont think Planching is a silly skill since it requires a lot of what I just said too just like certain skills that are pertaining to Martial Arts are not silly either.
@theshadowfag I did not mean to undermine the the tremendous perseverance, concentration, and exercise it takes to achieve a full planche, but it bores no importance in a real life situation. Tell me a real life situation where it will be useful to learn that skill other than bboying, circus performing or gymnastics?
There are only 4 upper body exercises that would be useful in a real life situation-dead lift, muscle ups on a high bar or wall, bench press, and overhead press, IMO
@jrk987 It seems like you are only considering performing the planche itself rather than the strength and control required to do one. Will popping a planche in a crowd save anyone? No, but the proprioception, balance and muscular control/endurance can be just as useful as being able to push/lift a heavy object (which a plancher can still do and are usually more accustomed to not having any momentum assisting the movement). Just saying.
@jrk987 There is a lot of functional strength involved in performing a planche and demonstrates precise muscle control. There is no indication of a person's fighting ability by watching them do a planche. Where is your friend making the connection?
@fallen808 What's your definition of functional strength? Give me a real life situation where utilizing a planche would be beneficial (other than bboying, gymnastics, or circus performing-basically entertaining people)
haha my friend is just jealous cuz he can't do a planche, when someone's ego is "threatened" (in which case his) pulling the "I can kick his ass" card seems to suffice
Dead lift, muscle ups on a single bar/wall, bench press, and overhead press seem to be the most functional IMO
@jrk987 Planche exercises take very precise muscular control. The exercises you mentioned only require explosive pushing/lifting in one direction with mostly large muscle groups. You activate your arms, forearms, shoulders, chest, core and legs to do a proper planche and then have to maintain balance and control to hold it. You're comparing apples and oranges. There are different types of functional strength.
@jrk987 Sounds like you're pulling out a "threat" card yourself there. Don't know where you're coming from, but most everyone on Youtube who can do planche exercises sure look like they have "beach bodies" to me. I've never seen a fat person be able to do one. And does doing planche exercises mean that they can't do any of those regular exercises you mentioned? Do their muscles say, "sorry, no, I can only do planches" ? That would be retarded to think so.
@jrk987 "Dead lift, muscle ups on a single bar/wall, bench press, and overhead press " the next time you do any of these, do them slooowly, 15-20 secs to do one rep with full ROM with zero momentum.
At 8:51 seconds, it looked and sounded like you pulled one of your nuts, lol. Overall great clip, and those are some cool basketball shorts your wearing.
5-STARS! ....awesome video! nice setting for this vid......on the beach! :-)
You gave a wealth of great pre-workout stretches and tips! some i had forgotten, but, you jogged my old memory! :-) i cannot overemphasize how fit and healthy and in great shape you look Kid....simply amazing! i only wish i had looked even just half as good as you do when i was your age! we are total strangers that you will never meet out here in cyberspace, but, we are really proud of you Kid, damn PROUD! Hugs! :-)
Smart idea to post your extra material of your "pla" workouts on the website. Should draw in extra views and get new members. Glad to see you work on flexibility, it is very helpful when training on bodyweight conditioning! Try and go for a pull-update and try paul's w7 or w5 pullup challenge... i bet you can pull off a w5 or maybe even a w6 now.
it would be cool if you film the streets of the town where you are now, i mean , to show some places for people like me who dont know russia. Also it would be cool a complete workout video at the beach.

gottalikeit2010 7 months ago
Btw I think learning a straddle press to handstand (STRAIGHT ARMS, NOT BENT)
would be very beneficial
Also both front and back levers will help accelerate your planche training
A full back lever is basically a hanging planche
Arch body rocks are an excellent exercise
Once you've gotten the straight back element, the shoulder strength will follow easily
